In Nashville, one of the projects and dangerous areas is near Vanderbilt University which is a very nice area, so it's easy to get the two areas mixed up because all you have to do is walk a few blocks down out of Vandy's vicinity and you're in the danger zone.

I see people judge all the time by how clean or sweet a hood looks until you actually trapped in those perimeters of a specific hood and live in it. You can say all you want. It’s the people in the hood that makes it a struggle to survive. I met people that move to Phoenix here in Arizona who say these streets have nothing on this or that place they have in mind. But I always tell them live there what no option to leave in specific areas I speak about and you’ll see tapped off streets from killings and a lot hood justice going around cuz cops dont get used to straighten shit out in some hoods

What has to happen in these places is remediation. Teams need to go in and give these guys options, training, resources, supplies, and counseling. They feel hopeless and afraid, so this is how they deal with it.

This is a comparatively pretty part of Chicago. When I have to drive through the south side, there are places that look more hopeless than the set of a movie about urban dystopia. I don't think CNN would actually show those parts though.

I grew up in the west side of Chicago in the Austin neighborhood, and it was the worst neighborhood to live in. And still the dangerous neighborhood in that part of town.

I used to have to go to the south side of Chicago to sell B~Grade bicycles to retailers during the Spring & Summer months when it was warm out and hated it every time I had to make the trip there. The air, as you breathed, literally smelled like a combination of piss, shit, and vomit. Just, gross. Walked into a south side McDonald's one time with my work crew for a quick bite to eat and that same smell was inside the restaurant only multiplied by 10. We all promptly decided we'd rather go hungry than risk eating from the joint so we all turned around and left.

It would not take too long to solve this problem. Number one have to get the wall built and stop the drugs from coming in. Number 2 the police must be able to stop and search for weapons.
