- Chicago passes 1000 gunshot victims for the year. President Trump capitalized on Chicago’s troubles, and campaigned on finding the solution. 12 days after inauguration a pastor named Darrell Scott told President Trump he had a solution. Scott said “Top gang thugs” in Chicago had personally contacted him with a message for the president.

I'm from Chicago. Just a few nights ago me and my friend we're standing outside talking. A car slowed down a bit and looked over at us then went around the corner right over on South Chicago. Soon after gunshots rang off, then soon after that 5 squad cars raced down that way also. Just something as simple as talking to you friend outside could turn into a deadly encounter.
My family came from chicago and we visit every year, crazy how much it has changed in the last two decades man. god bless chicago.

It's sad listen to that young man speak. You can tell that if he was born in a better situation he would be successful in life. His replies to questions are very prompt and honest reality in his environment.

I'm from the Southside of Chicago. Even if you go to the "better" neighborhoods there is still so much violence. I remember growing up in a neighborhood that is not the best but not the worst. When I would walk home sometimes there would be gun shots from nearby. You would have to watch some of the colors that you wore to make sure that they weren't gang colors. Many people I know are in gangs and/or sell guns and drugs. Family members in and out of jail. There are so many other things like gruesome murders right around the corner and people shooting each other right in front of my house. It's insane. I'm just glad I never got caught up in anything like that.
I live on the south side of Chicago, and literally nothing has changed.
I miss that $2.49 gas that popped up lmao
