I fuckin LOVE the game, it's the Robocop 3 we deserved. Only issues I had were having to download mods to make the gun, footsteps, and holstering sound like the movies. loved Terminator Salvvation too
The first RoboCop movie is one of my favorite movies of all time, and I've wanted a good game for years. I bought this one right when it came out, and while it's not perfect, I'm extremely happy with what the developers made. I thought it was going to just be a straightforward shooter, but was impressed with the Exploration and RPG mechanics. This was one of my favorite games of last year, and I need to get back to it for the post launch new game plus mode. We finally have a good RoboCop game. I really liked the exploration of the police station, and the video store scene was one of my favorite Moments.
Have you played the classic Robocop arcade games from Data East? They're both pretty good 👍👍. Would be nice to get some Arcade Archives releases of them.
One of my favorite films. Such a perfect blend of bombastic action, terrifying violence, satire, and humor. But, I have a confession, I still haven't played Rogue City 🫣 This video reminds me I need to fix that immediately. AWESOME video, dude. Nailed it, as always.
Yeah it’s in my top 3 for sure. Basically a perfect movie if there ever was one. I think you’d jam out on Rogue City. It’s rad. Thanks for checking out the video, my friend.
I would love a movie, but I doubt hollywood execs would get it right just look how the bungled aliens vs predator. The dark horse comics were awesome though
Agreed, Terminator Resistance and RoboCop Rogue City are the two best and most faithful film to game adaptations I’ve ever played. The only other game adaptation that even comes close is Alien Isolation.
As someone who absolutely adores the first two movies I loved Rogue City. It did kinda suffer from some of the shortcomings of the stuff after 2 (particularly I really miss the cynicism and body horror), but it's certainly a much better RoboCop 3 than RoboCop 3 lol. I would've killed to have this game as a kid.
I do like Robocop 2, despite how wonky it is, but one thing about the sequels that bugs me is the backslide from the ending of the original. Murphy embraces his humanity after everything and he just kinda goes back to more robot again in 2. I really wanted to see more of him evolving his human side more
Yeah it’s a strange movie overall- and the return to the status quo makes it jarring from the beginning. But it is fun in a comic booky kind of way. Thanks for watching.
This game was very surprising. When I first heard that this game was coming, I was skeptical about it, but when the reviews came out, a lot of them said that this game is not perfect, but this is the best Robocop game. So, I decided to get this game, and I loved it. It now has a new game+ mode where you can play the main game, but with all the upgrades you unlocked.
I always thought that this was kind of a robot Christ tale, what with Murphys death pose, his resurrection, and walking on water when he confronts Boddicker. We even made it our Easter Day movie at home!
Just beat it solid 8/10 took almost 40hrs I explored nearly every nook cranny. I went in blind and got 95% of trophies. few small bugs but very good game. Robocop 2 with a bigger world Jetpack and machine gun attachments they need to make it happen.
Love to hear it. I’m glad you enjoyed the video. Rogue City ruled. I’d love more as well. I know they have the cosmetic DLC, but it would be nice to get more story or at least more combat. Thanks for watching

Robocop: Rogue City has me hooked. I bought it last week, I was worried but it's a really good purchase. The only thing I don't like is how easy it is to turn on night vision mode when your in those intense gun battles, I wish they didn't make Robo's directional joystick the same as the night vision button. Other than that, It's an amazing game.
The robocop reboot touches more on the philosophical aspects than the original. And moved it focus away from satire. I think it does a good job delivering on that philosophical focus, and in terms of the body horror of losing your humanity to machinery it surpases the original with an even more morbid look at the pychological impacts.
It doesn't hold up to the tough act to follow of the first robocop movie, and if you go into with those level of expectations you will be disapointed. But if you look at it as a stand alone movie that is doing something different than the original, then I think it did a good job for what it is doing.

As a self-described Terminator superfan, Terminator: Resistance is the closest I've come to experiencing Terminator since I first watched T2. Definitely give it a try, I'm sure you'll love it if you love the original films.
An excellent summary of the mostly lacklustre history of the Robocop franchise! A finely crafted masterpiece, followed by nearly 40 years of trying (and often failing) to recapture just a little of its glory. In terms of past Robocop games, the1988 game on the European 8bit home computers was very well received at the time, and in the UK was the best selling game of the whole 1980s. It was a different game than the one on the NES. The ZX Spectrum version came in for particular praise given it was a system with the processing power of a baked potato. To make things even more confusing, the 16 bit versions of the game on the Amiga and Atari ST was a different game again, and the original Data East arcade cabinet was different to all of them! Also of note was 'Robocop 3' on the Amiga, Atari ST and PC which garnered a fair bit of critical praise in its day (unlike the movie). Weirdly it came out in 1991 long before the film did due to the movie languishing in production hell. It's a VERY different game to what was on the consoles and went for 3D polygon graphics including some of the earliest FPS sequences in a game. Obviously it looks very primitive now, but back then it was visually impressive on 16bit home computers. Rogue City though is a spectacular addition to the franchise in video game form. Sure, it's got its rough edges betraying its small-studio, budget squeezed background but it goes above and beyond to capture the look and feel of the films. I too spent time wandering around locations like the police station or the OCP executive suites gobsmacked at the work done to get it looking just right. It's right that kind of attention to detail should get rewarded and I dare to hope Teyon would be tempted to revisit Old Detroit in the future.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I definitely didn't cover everything to come out of the franchise, mostly for brevity, but the early PC games and Atari releases are something of blind spot for me. But really I was just trying to set the tone that outside of the first movie, RoboCop has been on a mostly steady decline. But yeah, Teyon crushed it Thank you for watching!
This was the first game in a long time where when I beat it, I immediately wanted to replay it I had held off on it until a few months back, all of the positive press made me intrigued but I waited until it was on sale Man was it worth it. There is definitely some jank, anytime you pick up an enemy and throw them it nearly always throws them through a wall into the void. Other things can feel a little stiff, graphics can go from great to abysmal But none of that mattered. The core power fantasy of being RoboCop is so cathartic, and the atmosphere is perfect. What a love letter to the first two films. You get sucked into this world, so even the areas of the game that show a lower budget never break the immersion I also just liked the pacing and the setup for gameplay. Down time in the police station or around the streets. Taking side quests and just kind of exploring on your own. The game that it gave me flashbacks to was Deus Ex 2. They just don't really make shooters like this anymore It got me to check out the developers prior game too, Terminator resistance. And while it doesn't quite play as well as robocop does, it's another game that is absolutely nailing the atmosphere of the franchise and easy to get sucked into if you're a fan The only thing I can't agree with you on here is saying MK11 was weak. I think that's one of the best MK games hands down. Also RoboCop versus Terminator is indeed a license cash in, I'm not sure about the Genesis version but the arcade version was sweet. But it's just an arcade shooter so you're only getting so much out of it anyway Otherwise though man, great video
Seriously. They nailed down all the important stuff, and the gameplay is king. I’ll definitely check out the Terminator title in the future, and I can’t wait to see what the team does next. I have a particular bone to pick with MK11, not really digging the whole crushing blow system and all that- so this is a personal prejudice that showed up on my end. But I know you and a lot of others dig it. Just remember I’m just some idiot on the internet- my opinion is just that. Thanks for watching!
I recently Platinumed RoboCop: Rogue City and I am not a trophy hunter. I've only ever Platinumed one other game (Ghost of Tsushima). But this game was just so much fun. It's not perfect. There are aspects I don't care for, but, overall, it's a great time.
I enjoyed rogue city. What i wished it had..... is a cover of the robocop 2 theme to use as background through the riot scene of old detroit. Essentially a heroic theme for robocop cleaning the streets.
That would have been great! I wish there was some actual walking around music too. Crunching around was cool- but it was a bit desolate at times. Rad game nevertheless
I love Robocop 1, 2 and the reboot. But Robocop 3 makes me want to puke. About the game, it's amazing. Can't wait to see what the developers will deliver next.
Boddicker and Dick Jones are way more realistic than any of those modern sissies, they are believable 100%. Superhero movie villains are especially infantile and just plain bland and dumb.
Very articulate discussion just subbed I love this game and def Robo 2.5. Not perfect, like Terminator Resistance but a great homage to the 1st 2 movies. I have come to appreciate the 2nd movie more as a satirical take on sequels, where everything has to be bigger but not necessarily better.
Thank you, my friend. This game rules and I’m excited to get around to TR in the near future. I like the second movie as well, in a goofy and weird sort of way. Hob is an insane character. Thanks for watching and welcome to the channel.
Huge Robocop fan here! Rogue City is THE Robocop game guys. I bought it on day 1 and didn't regret it, I enjoyed every bit of it. In my opinion it is a must-have for every Robo fan out there!
his metal armor doesn't look like plastic and fiberglass like in the original movie. unacceptable! instead it looks really seriously good! "what were they thinking?!"
Loved the game, a bunch of us, myself included begged the developers for DLC, or the ability to do a New Game Plus mode, and they delivered after the game was fully released, when is the last time someone did that? This is the first time I have played a story driven single player game in a long time. The 2014 remake in a nutshell... As far as reboots go, its bad, as far as movies go, its very bad. If you have people in the cast like Gary Oldman and Michael Keaton, and the movie still sucks... then you really messed up.
robocop three was the pilot for the no blood TV series. which was actually really good. the one thing they could have done but never did was enter into Cyberspace to be a normal man with Dianna. did they do that? anyway it wasn't hardcore like the first two films. but for what it was the writing took a lot of risks. for example the commander cash episode. or the organ trade story arc.
This was a great game, I’ve played through it twice. I’m hoping for some DLC story missions or even a sequel at some point. Great video by the way. I enjoyed the history and I have to confess… The original movie is the best but I am a fan of Robocop 2. The rest of them were rubbish in my opinion.
Thank you for the compliment, I’m glad you liked the video. I will also confess to enjoying RoboCop 2. It is fun and weird. I just didn’t like nearly as much as the first movie. Thanks for watching
data east robocop definitely NOT what you would expect from licensed NES games from that era, because its actually pretty decent. Most licensed games back then were horrible, and had the LJN seal of crap on full display.
Yeah this is all a matter of opinion. I played the older games in preparation for this video- I wasn’t a fan of the games back in the day, and I’m still not as of now. But I totally get that plenty of people love them. I’m just some idiot on the internet- don’t worry about my opinion too much hahah.
@@digitalhauntology You did not like the fist RoboCop game in the arcade or RoboCop versus terminator? I will admit the others stunk hard, but I thought those two were pretty good
I love Robocop, grew up on it as a kid in the 80s, but the game was a little simple-stupid for my tastes. Now, if we got an open world action adventure Robocop game, kind of like Cyberpunk 2077, then I could definitely get behind that.
I would kinda like to see Teyon get the licence for Knight Rider and make a Driver 3 style game with it.......Ben's garage has a trans am in it but that is probably an easter egg.......Teyon.....make my Knight Rider game please
I thoroughly enjoyed this game at launch. It didn't have the usual modern annoyances, and wasn't trying to scold you with "woke" (at least in any ways I noticed.) It just wanted to entertain RoboCop fans, like a game from around the 6th generation of console gaming.
I’m judging everything against my love for the first movie. So in my opinion (as stupid as it can be at times) is just what I laid out in the video. But I totally get that a lot of the media has tons of fans. RoboCop 3 tho. That one hurts. Thank you for watching
Poorly researched. Don't waste your time. Robocop Rouge City is between Robocop 2 and Robocop 3. So, saying the game completely forgets Robocop 2 and plays like a sequel to Robocop 1 is factually incorrect.
16:46 - 17:06 What a poorly researched comment. But if you were more interested in being "factually correct" than posting a gotcha- you might have seen it.

Thanks for reminding me to buy this game. I had been saving up for some big games, but I NEED this in my library ty.
Hope you enjoy it. The game is rad- I think you will have a great time.
Curious what they will do next. Maybe a Predator game.
That would be rad.
I’ve seen a lot of people speculating on a Judge Dredd game too.
We will see.
Thank you for watching
Imagine there next game is Aliens. That would be game of the year even before release!
@@sureslick1 Oh thats a good one. Yeah that could be cool.
I love Robocop 1, 2 and the reboot. But Robocop 3 makes me want to puke.
About the game, it's amazing.
Can't wait to see what the developers will deliver next.
💯
this game was a lot of fun to play and had some great visuals..
Definitely captured the vibe. Super solid game.
Thank you for watching!
got this game during gmg's black friday sale and i love it.
It’s pretty damn good.
And a good deal makes it even better!
Thanks for watching
Great game, loved every minute of it. Definitely provides a ton of fan service, for every Robocop fan.
@@Donscottgaming It is way better than it has any right being.
Thank you for watching!
I loved Rogue City. Got the Platinum, finished it twice.
Incredible game, you’ve got good taste
Nailed the part about the nostalgia aspect being its weakest link.
Boddicker and Dick Jones are way more realistic than any of those modern sissies, they are believable 100%. Superhero movie villains are especially infantile and just plain bland and dumb.
Very articulate discussion just subbed
I love this game and def Robo 2.5.
Seems like with some tweaks to gameplay, this could also be a killer Judge Dredd game
I could see it for sure.
I think they’d do a great job.
Good to see you again!
I really enjoy this game, still haven’t finished it but I like it :)
It’s super solid.
Hope you enjoy the rest.
Thank you for watching!
Huge Robocop fan here! Rogue City is THE Robocop game guys. I bought it on day 1 and didn't regret it, I enjoyed every bit of it. In my opinion it is a must-have for every Robo fan out there!
Agreed.
Thanks for watching.
Goddamn, that Korean commercial looks like it had been reupload 100 times
@@h8GW I know, it sucks it’s so low quality.
I tried to AI upscale it, but it ended up looking busted.
Amazing piece of media.
Thank you for watching.
his metal armor doesn't look like plastic and fiberglass like in the original movie.
unacceptable!
instead it looks really seriously good! "what were they thinking?!"
@@DavidDrawsComics Hahaha, we definitely lost something.
But maybe it was worth it for just this one time?
Thank you for watching!
@digitalhauntology all jokes aside, I love Rogue City 🥳
me too, my friend, me too.
Terminator Resistance is pretty good! I honestly liked it better than Fallout 4.
Looking forward to checking it out.
Fair enough, it’s definitely better than a lot of the LJN stuff haha.
Thank you for watching
Can't until Friday getting me some Rogue City!
🙌🏼
Have fun!
The remake wasnt too bad. Its different, but i liked it
Yeah I need to check it out soon.
It looks interesting enough.
Thank you for watching.
Robocp versus terminator for genesis was good bro and was not crap. Did you actually play the game. The first Robocop arcade was great as well.
@@digitalhauntology
You did not like the fist RoboCop game in the arcade or RoboCop versus terminator? I will admit the others stunk hard, but I thought those two were pretty good
One of my favorite games
Man of culture I see.
It’s pretty high up there for me too.
Thank you for watching.
I love Robocop, grew up on it as a kid in the 80s, but the game was a little simple-stupid for my tastes. Now, if we got an open world action adventure Robocop game, kind of like Cyberpunk 2077, then I could definitely get behind that.
I wouldn’t say no to a big time RoboCop game.
I’d love to see it happen.
Thanks for watching!
What about all the robocp made for tv films. I think there were a few of them.
Its that good i barely played it and forgot about it
I would kinda like to see Teyon get the licence for Knight Rider and make a Driver 3 style game with it.......Ben's garage has a trans am in it but that is probably an easter egg.......Teyon.....make my Knight Rider game please
That would be so sick, Goliath boss fights and everything.
I’d play it

Best game ever.
It’s pretty terrific
There is simply nothing in the same league with Robo 1
Ain’t nothing like it.
I thoroughly enjoyed this game at launch. It didn't have the usual modern annoyances, and wasn't trying to scold you with "woke" (at least in any ways I noticed.) It just wanted to entertain RoboCop fans, like a game from around the 6th generation of console gaming.
It’s a terrific game.
But RoboCop has always been woke haha.
I really wanted to like the game but it just could not reel me in.
Hey we like what we like. It happens.
What in particular pushed you away from the title?
Actually... All RoboCop media/IP is great! .... Except part 3!
It was a fun film, but a HORRIBLE RoboCop movie!!!
I’m judging everything against my love for the first movie. So in my opinion (as stupid as it can be at times) is just what I laid out in the video.
But I totally get that a lot of the media has tons of fans.
RoboCop 3 tho.
That one hurts.
Thank you for watching
Hype
In right at upload, you’re the man.
@@digitalhauntology here's hoping we can get a demolition man game one day
I’d settle for a proper Lawnmower Man game.

"RoboCop is not a critique of Capitalism."
It's not, it's a critique of Corportism, see also the modern Democrat party.
Poorly researched. Don't waste your time.
Robocop Rouge City is between Robocop 2 and Robocop 3. So, saying the game completely forgets Robocop 2 and plays like a sequel to Robocop 1 is factually incorrect.
16:46 - 17:06
What a poorly researched comment.
But if you were more interested in being "factually correct" than posting a gotcha- you might have seen it.
