There's genuinely so much more to say about this game that just didn’t fit cleanly in the script. So, I'll be doing an extended, 2nd video, just for Patrons to keep exploring everything the game has going for it in the coming week. - www.patreon.com/ThaneBishop
So I'm binging your videos. There's an ad right after you play the sound effect for Murphy's gun. I heard the squelch, and then someone said "Innocent plus juice." Yep. An Innocent fruit juice ad post-squelchy headshot.
Funny how with one search you can find a new channel with content you like. I was hoping to find something like this because it's such an interesting game. My own way of seeing Robocop at the start though was as human because of my views on technology and cybernetics. To me, if cybernetics can bring you back to life, then you should be considered legally alive, not dead when their used. The way OCP treats Robocop conflicts with that right out of the gate. I also find that Delta City conflicts with me because I see it as a pipe dream. Even if the city itself could be built it would still have crime, mostly white collar but also some violent and sex crimes. It can't be helped because crime is just part of human nature and all we can do is mitigate it.
Only recently discovered your videos. While the view counts may not be the highest on TH-cam, they've rapidly become something I genuinely look forward to seeing in my recommendations. Your insights are solid, and the quality of the writing mixed with your voice is delightful. Thank you for giving me something to enjoy while I'm working through life.
For a small Polish studio pulling off this magic is absolutely deserved of all the respect!!!!.. They will definitely be inspired to use their skills for another game if they can do Robocop this amount of justice.
I'm not remotely surprised you enjoyed Rogue City. It's a terrible irony that the cyber police of the dark future (Robocop and Karl Urban's Judge Dredd) are considerably more effective and less lawless than what we have now.
Honestly with unlimited time, I'd have loved to have this one pour over into the Dredd stories, but I don't know enough about that series to do it well at this point.
@ThaneBishop Basically just watch dredd. It's a near perfect distillation of the vibe of the comics. It's basically like rogue city. Better than it has any right to be and unfortunately underappreciated. Also, yo, looking forward to what you do in '24.
I just stbled upon your Dishonored video yesterday and man, I am loving your channel. I've already binged most of your videos even if I'm not familiar or haven't come across half of the games/media properties you've talked about so far. Looking forward to your future projects man. You're amazing.
When the channel you just subbed to this week for the beautiful deep dives into your favourite aspects of one game, uploads as the very next video, a piece on one of your GOTY contenders.
Welp, guess I have a new game to add to my wish list. Thank you for this wonderful video. Would have never known about this game were it not for this well made video. Keep up the great work!
RoboCop rogue City is such a Good God damn impressive masterpiece, This game was very fateful to the original movies from the '80s and they absolutely nailed it!
A lot “Rule of Cool” kids and adults completely miss the reality that a cyberpunk world is the WORST possible future, it’s not “cool” it’s a god damned nightmare world and todays corperations would GLADLY sell us into slavery IF they had the power to get away with it. Good on you for spelling out the truth and on such a good game to boot.
Happy New Year, Thane! Just found you a couple of weeks ago and really enjoy your videos (and really stoked for this, just watched RoboCop yesterday coincidentally!) 🎉🎉🙏
Welp i've convinced myself from this I need watch a walk through of this game. Gonna finish this vid later! (Quarter of the way thru) :) loving what i've seen so far! Also subbed and this comment is ment to be a sacrifice for the algorithem.
Robocop 2 was a step back for a lot of characters in terms of development and the lack of payoff for Murphy and his wife was always a disappointment to me. The first movie is near perfect though in my opinion.
While I appreciate the analysis overall, I feel it's worth saying.... it wasn't -quite- so "absurd" for this game to deliver, if you were a fan of Terminator: Resistance. Teyon were just as excellent there, so most of us expected a rock solid adventure.
I have little nostalgia for the 80's and have no lingering love for Robocop or any American police stories, as such I have no immediate reason to love this game. Despite your high praise I wll likely never play it. However, I will admit it - it does look real nice. Anyway, happy new year! I hope 2024 is good to you and brings many more of these videos to us.
I do wonder how RoboCop isn't constantly driven insane by the inherent conflict between those first two directives and the third one. I guess making them less important in descending order helps? But, yeah, "uphold the law" is pretty much completely antithetical to "protect the innocent". Also, you make it sound as if the state's monopoly on violence is a good thing, when it isn't, it's very much a _bad thing_ and one of the reasons why states are a bad thing. Also, states exist to serve capital and corporations, so RoboCop/the police being owned by a corporation is really just a more transparent version of reality, but it's not any more horrific than what happens IRL, which is pretty damn horrific. As the Supreme Court ruled, the police don't have any duty to protect us, their only duty is to protect capital and private property at the expense of the working class.

My man, thought about RoboCop during his honeymoon
First thing I thought of when I heard that 😭
I was NOT expecting a Thane Special on Rouge City but I’m so glad we got this. Thank you!
I'm really glad you enjoyed it!

"We're at our strongest when we're together," is such a beautiful line.
For a small Polish studio pulling off this magic is absolutely deserved of all the respect!!!!..

They did a fantastic job with Terminator as well, and that was after that infamously atrocious Rambo game. Talk about a comeback.
Happy New Year Thane! Here's to a new chance to try again!

Im glad we agree, Diehard IS a Christmas movie
So you went on honeymoon and ... thought about Robocop every day? But hey, it culminated in a great video!
Welp, guess I have a new game to add to my wish list. Thank you for this wonderful video. Would have never known about this game were it not for this well made video. Keep up the great work!

Picked it up on steam for 50% off and it made a very enjoyable weekend for me and i have been a robocop fan since i was a little one back in the 90s
Happy New Year, Thane! Just found you a couple of weeks ago and really enjoy your videos (and really stoked for this, just watched RoboCop yesterday coincidentally!) 🎉🎉🙏
Another great vid! One of my Cyberpunk RED players actually recommended me this game as well and I've been meaning to try it out :)
Loved this video !!
Dude, your channel is a hidden Jam.
RoboCop is definitely Teyon’s most successful project is why I’m worried for their future plans.
They should definitely stick with RoboCop games.
Robocop always messed me up a bit, like the dude literally died and they still made him go back to work.
shit I wouldn't be surprised if it happens soon
If you die you become property

Poles are lately much into cyberpunk. Just look at this shit: Cyberpunk 2077, Ghost Runner, Observer, Robocop: RC, Gamedec. All in last 7 years.
There's also Hard Reset Redux, Ruiner, SlavicPunk, and Showgunners
I played this game 4 times before they released new game plus.
I am not a robocap fan or had any interest in this game but damn. Your vid might actually get me to buy it
I love this game, thank you for making this video
I have played that game I think
Edit: Oh wait, that was the old one
I didn’t even know it was canon :o
Just got the Plat amazing game!!
you do have polish viewers. Soon you will be worldwide known by all

You lost me when you said the remake was better than the original

If you dont play this game you're a miserable person
