We always check a bag and we have never waited more than 20 minutes to get through the airport. We have never had a problem and I’m talking about from getting off the plane to getting our ride to our resort. Takes all of 20 minutes. Get an early flight and all your problems are solved.

It’s one of the reasons why this video is so informative and important. I’ve been able to spend less time at the airport and have a more pleasant traveling experience by traveling light. I enjoy my Punta Cana airport experience. Now, I was born in Dominican Republic and came to the states as a child. I use that to my advantage in Punta Cana airport since I go to the Dominican line which is shorter most of the time.
Great tip regarding getting a seat toward the front of the plane. On a recent flight back home from Europe, it took us about 1.5 hours just to get through immigration and customs. Horrrible line, and a lot of people that had connections missed their flights because the line was so long.

As a Canadian... that bottle you brought from say Toronto or any other major airport would have to be unopened still. And yes it would count. And same rules apply that she mentioned in this video. So no short answer. But I have brought back a extra bottle and just told CSBA and they said no problem. You forgot the most important part. Doing the Domincan e-ticket online before you go. People that used to do this for $10 in the past at the airport (like 5-7 years ago) will be shocked while going through immigration that they no longer do it there. You'll have to leave the line and go to a shared laptop. Good luck with that. It will delay you at least 30 minutes to an hour during peak times.

I used to turn my nose up on all inclusive vacations, as I've described myself as more of a traveler than a vacationer. I do go on them now, if I want to just be a slug in a tropical environment. In an all inclusive, it's easy to get my laundry done by resort. Also as a rule of thumb, I never wear shorts on a plane. The seats are small enough on planes and why do dudes want their knees touching each other?

Another one is after arriving to the airport and you make your way down to where you put your luggage through the x ray machine there’s gonna be like 4-5 ladies waiting before you make the left to go outside to your ride. They ask you what hotel you’re going to then you tell them and they say oh ok come this way to do a check in. Then it’s just some guy who works for another hotel trying to get you to go to there and they will pick you up for free and offer to give you excursions. You waste time there. I always tell the ladies no that I got an airbnb or my friend is waiting for me.

The DR has an eticket for entry and exit that provides a QR code. So many people were scrambling to do it at the airport. It should be number one in your list, or even do a separate video.
What is inside of the pouch that you have around your neck? It looks like you are wearing a crossbody bag (like a purse) but you also have a black string bag around the center of your body that has a gray bottom. Is that for your passport and ID? Do you have a link to where you purchased it? Do you only use it at the airport? I've never traveled internationally and I do not have anything like that, should I get one?
Yes it’s a passport holder with RFID blocking! I never have to go digging for the passports and then when I get to the room I never put them in the safe. I bury them in my suitcase or hide them in clothing. This is the one amzn.to/3GWAp66
I didn't have any trouble getting my checked bag at the airport arriving. On the way home it was a bit of a mess checking the bag but it didn't take too long. I would add to your list one more. Try to avoid the guys who wait for people at the baggage carousel who are just trying to squeeze tips out of the tourists by taking their baggage like 40 feet to the car service desks. It's a total waste of money.
I go to DR every 2 to 3 years, mostly to Punta Cana, but also Santo Domingo and Puerto Plata. I am Dominican, but a US citizen with a US passport. The last 2 times I have been to Punta Cana, they have asked me for a Dominican Cedula, and have asked me for some other type of ID when I tell them that I don't have a DR ID. Eventually they let me go, but it is annoying. Has anyone had that experience in the past 5 or 6 years? I have no such harassment in Santo Domingo Las Americas airport.

Unfortunately, as far as drinks go for your departing flight, PUJ has you by the shorthairs. Liquids aren't allowed through security, there are no water fountains, and the tap water isn't potable. tl;dr you're gonna be paying that $7 for a 1.5 L bottle of water
it does not matter what country you go to, you will get rip off by taxi drivers. i even got rip off couple times by taxi driver in Japan, the most honest country. it's almost like if you fail law school you become a taxi driver.

it does not matter what country you go to, you will get rip off by taxi drivers. i even got rip off couple times by taxi driver in Japan, the most honest country. it's almost like if you fail law school you become a taxi driver.
