Hi Blanche - I just purchased some of those travel squeeze pouches for my sunscreen and other liquids. I got them from Amazon and it came in a pack of 15 pouches. These are awesome as they are durable and leak proof and they save so much space and much better than the silicone squeeze bottles! Such a game changer. The traditional silicone bottles are bulky whereas the pouches are slim and stackable but surprisingly do hold 3.4 oz of product. They come in a variety of designs and colors. My new go to containers for traveling. Highly recommend 👌🏼

Just bought sunscreen at the mini mart a few days ago. It was $18.20 for Hawaiian Tropic 220 mL spf 50. The same bottle is almost $30 at the resort, for anyone who wants to know.

Wonderful packing visual and tips. I like the packing cubes idea. Might try them. I have been a big roll my clothes packer and have learned to pack lighter too. I used to be an over packer. Great channel! 😊

We do the same thing with the packing cubes. Only use them for certain items. It does make unpacking so much easier. Love the Level 8 suitcases too!

We have have used packing cubes for a couple of trips. Our last 3 night trip we each had a personal item only. And we took to many clothes. Don't forget that you can plan what you wear on the plane to use at the resort.

I’m so glad I found your channel! My family is going to Cancun for the first time in a little over 3 weeks and your channel has been a lifesaver! I do have a question about medicine that I don’t understand. If I have prescriptions, do I need to pack them all separately in their bottles or can I pack them in my travel pill case? They will be in my backpack and I’m trying to save space. I take 6 medications so those would take up a lot of space in there.

I just discovered your channel today, and I've watched several videos already. I'm going to Cancun in a couple weeks, and I'm trying to make sure I picked a good resort, I'm going to Haven Riviera, based on a friend's recommendation. It's mentioned in your top ten list, but you haven't reviewed it, because you went when it first opened while they were still working out the bugs (so to speak). I was wondering if you have been back since then to see if things have improved? I understand that the beach will not be beautiful regardless.
I was also looking at your videos on tipping at the AI resorts. Very helpful. Thank you! And very helpful packing tips in this video, thank you for this as well. That Level 8 carry on bag looks great. I think I'll watch you Cancun airport videos next. I haven't been to Cancun since the early 90s, when I went to the Club Med resort, and I never got off the resort. I got very involved in their "circus workshop", where I learned the trapeze. Of course, if I stay at Haven I probably still won't see Cancun, since the resort is a little ways down the coast.

Thank you for sharing these smart packing tips & tricks as they are extremely helpful 👍🏻 I was wondering if I should take a sweater/cardigan for the evening dinners. Are the restaurants cold at the resorts? I’m trying to figure out what I should take and not to overpack in my carry on.
I would def take a sweater!! You could always wear it on the plane

Roll on sunscreen is the best! Takes up the size of a deodorant and isn’t considered a liquid! I also do bar shampoo, conditioner, and body wash!

I have heard that some transport companies will make a stop at 7-11 or Walmart on the way to the resort to get sunscreen if you arrange ahead of time.

It seems you have more than the alloted liquids in your carryon. I thought you could only bring what will fit in 1 quart size clear bag.

Due to diet restrictions and allergies, I have to pack a few condiments like sweetner, coconut aminos, maybe sea salt , no grain tortilla chips and taco shells. Is that allowed? Do you think that would be a problem? Travelling from Canada to Mexico. Thanks 🙂

I have never had an issue. Once in awhile it’s flagged but then they check it and it’s all good

Hi. I am flyimg American Airlines in a couple months. They say i can bring a personal and carry on bag but the personal cant be wider than 18". I bought the duffel that u talk about and show on this video from Amazon to use as personal item. Do u know if they have been strick with the dimension size of the personal bag? Thanks!

Use sunscreen stick. They last longer and in solid form.

We were both looking at new luggage as ours is all hand me downs, but you made a solid argument for avoiding checked bags, so we went with a couple different Somode carryons.
I love your new carry-on style, perfect for me, except for the zippers. Zippers are usually pretty easy to pop open with a pen, from my experience, regardless of the lock. Does that have a safety feature that would prevent that? The carryon I got is very similar to yours, but it's zipperless entry. Snap locks for main compartment, the front laptop compartment is hinged and snaps shut, with combo locks on all. Also has a USB port on the top with internal space for a battery pack and laptop. I pre-packed to ensure everything will fit, last week.
We are doing carryon only for an 8 night stay. It's totally doable. My wife is an over-packer tho, she needs your advice more than I.

Curious about toiletries.. do they still need to be all in 1 quart bag? You mentioned you put them in the bags from Amazon and have multiple ones? How does that go over with TSA?
I’ve been using multi without an issue

Sunscreen? Use the solid kind!! (You apply it like you would a deodorant.)

Great video! I think I could manage the clothes/shoes for carry on…However I wear a TON of skincare and hair products. I definitely won’t be able to fit all my liquid cosmetics into 10 3-ounce bottles. So for those high maintenance people like me. If you absolutely have to check a bag, any advice?
I don’t think they are strict about the number of bottles! I believe in you. I think you could do it 😍
I decanted all my skincare into small containers I saved from small product samples. It’s enough to last me a week. For my haircare, I did the same. I also ordered small 2oz bottles and spray bottles which will last me a week. You can also purchase hair mask packets. I decanted my hair mask cream into an empty face powder container that is perfect and doesn’t take up much room. I was able to fit all of my products enough for a week into a travel toiletry bag (clam opening)style purchased on Amazon. It was a tight fit but I got it to work. For my makeup, I packed eyeshadow sticks instead of palettes and bronzer sticks and a few lip products that go with everything. Although that was the hardest task as I tend to overpack my makeup, I needed to simplify what I needed to pack. Same for brushes, I took some travel size brushes. I had to realize that I’ll be in Mexico hot sun and mostly in the pool and beach, so minimal makeup is all I need. I also decanted my sunscreen into the travel size silicone bottles. I put some of my bottles in my husband’s toiletries bag😊 I hope this helps.

I always check in my bag but want to carry on for Punta Cana. Flying American, I have my shampoo, conditioner, face wash, moisturizer, makeup(foundation,mascara), lotion, toothpaste and want to get some travel size sunscreen. Will I be able to put all of that in 1 carryon? Reading online it says it has to fit in a quart size bag and 1 bag per person but seen u had a few different bags for stuff. Really don’t want to check in a bag 🤦♀️
Yes I always use different bags and they don’t say anything! I think all of that will fit in one or 2 bags
Curious - how much does your carry on typically weigh? I am flying sunwing next month and not only do they charge for carry on ( checked bag is free) , but they say the carry on can only be 11 lbs. That sounds like an impossible task to me. Do they actually check?
Way more than 11bs. Yes they def check! You might have to go in the category of no choice but to check in a bag!

Near the reef areas yes I believe
Only question: Why would you put your laptop in your overhead luggage carry on suitcase and not your under seat personal bag?
Only when you’re not going to use it on the plane and it will take up too much room in your personal bag

Yes they haven’t been too strict about only putting them all in a qt bag. But yes it passes

How many bottles of liquid do they allow in your carry on? Also is each bottle no more than 100ml?
Supposedly it’s how many you can fit in a quart size ziploc. But I’ve had more than that and always fine. And yes. 100 ml or 3.3 oz
Odd tip. I bring empty quart zip lock bags. Due to limited room service, I keep fruit and veg from buffet, sandwiches and sliders, etc. in room fridge for late night snacking. I love how you pack. I go 6 days and pack too much, but only need one carry on.

@araceli1461 I would often take the plate of fruit, veg, and sandwiches back to the room before placing in zip lock bags for fridge. I'm sure I did it at the buffet in the open at some point.

You are not! But some employees and travelers still do

@@3Days3Noches really? Then why do they have the 3-1-1 rule? At ALL Canadian airports you have to remove your quart or litre bag and put in the bin to be inspected.
that clear bag is way bigger than quart-sized, but they don't seem to care so much about exact measurements right? Those are more fluids than I thought is allowed, although all the correct sizes by the looks
So far I’ve been through several airports in the US and Cancun and Punta Cana with them without a problem. Liquids are actual liquids so doesn’t count creams and sprays although doesn’t seem they count the number etc!
Good to know they're not quite as strict as Europe! Will never forget being sternly told off in Bremen airport by the woman at airport security for 'how messily I packed my bag' in addition to throwing out some liquids. It is what it is LOL @@3Days3Noches

The liquids must be in a quart size bag, how are you putting them in 2 bags? they need to be all together in one. I am not a carry on girl, unless I'm gong to visit my daughter on Houston as I can wash clothing.

I wondered about this too! I'm so careful to use the tiniest containers so I can get all my products into a single bag! Also - how did you get the bags from inside your Level 8 bag for TSA? or maybe you don't have to if you are Global Entry/Precheck?

I’ve never really had an issue! I don’t put all of my liquids into one clear bag I kind of mix them up but it’s never more than what would fit in one

We buy the travel insurance offered through Apple Vacations. We book 4-6 months out and it does have trip delayed coverage and some medical benefits. $80 per person but we are 70yo and a lot can happen in 4 months
