I have just ordered the new 2.0 version, just wanted to know if I connected a DMX cable running from my PA system to the gigbar will it work automatically going by the sound of the music from my speakers, or would I need to have a contoller to operate it? Also does the sound mode work off the sound coming from the speakers? Thanks in advance :)
I don't know if its even possible to connect pa to lighting via dmx. Dmx and XLR are very similar looking ports and are often mistaken to be one or the other. The DMX cable is used for light to light connections, and XLR is for audio connections. The Gigbar has built in Auto-Sound reactive programs and the built in mic will detect audio and cause the lights to activate accordingly. So, if you are just wishing for the fixture to be active to sound, then you just activate the sound-active mode via the controller, the back display, the foot controller or a DMX controller if you have one. You would not need a DMX controller to operate the light due to the built in functions and the additional foot controls and the IRC remote. Hope this helps.
no, one of them connects to the foot controller and one dmx cable from the master unit to the slave unit. have not tried two units to the foot controller. they wil not be in sync.
I achieve similar results when tapping the controller, but if anyone wants something like this it requires some attention, not just turning to sound and forgetting about it....
really nice! Just ordered one now watching this I will order a second one tomorrow
Wow! This is awesome! I just ordered one...thinking I should have ordered a second one!!
That was magical!
one more question. can you add more chauvet lights to this system?

So if I buy 2 bars and and connect them with a DMX cable they will like the ones in this video? I love how these flowed together with the music.

Not nesicaraly you need to set the channels
