- This video demonstrates the basic functions which can be done with the Gigbar remote. The strobe function title was entered too early in the video, but you get the picture. Hope this helps explain how the Gigbar can be used.
Please take a look at the comments. This light can do more than what I have explained. The comments are worth a look.. Thanks for watching.
from one mobile dj to the next this is by far the best video on you tube thats shows this system at its best
Thanks much! This light really does much more than just the auto programs and is worth every penny
its awesome im going for one more then thats it my clients love it and im sure yours do too.
Cheers Ron, we just bought the Gigbar 2 and this video works for that too. Very helpful and much appreciated.
thanks, i just got me a gigbar 2 and the manual is quite obtuse, this gave me a really good starting point
Thanks for sharing. Good luck with the gigbar
Thank you for this. Finally I know how to use this system properly. Great help!
One of the best reviews on this product thank you so much sir
twan 41 Appreciate the comments twan !
Thanks for the video. I just bought a Gigbar 2 today. I wouldn't really say I am THAT dumb, but it seemed like the instructions really didn't cover how to properly use the remote. Like, for instance, it says to "press and hold" either the Music or Audio buttons and then press 0-9. It was driving me crazy, since it wasn't changing the modes. Your video got me on the right track. Thanks!
Thanks MR K. It took me a while to figure it out and I also thought the instructions were some what of a joke. That's why I put this together. Glad it was helpful.
i like the fact you can see just how bright this unit is in a room with lights on. I'll be using one in blacked-out rooms, but also a hall during the daytime, where i can't close the curtains. So to know it's pretty capable in daytime settings is cool. Thanks!
I have 4 of these and just this week I finally have sitdown to find out the functions on it this is the best video that expalins its functions thanx
Thank you for helping me to understand how to use the remote where others failed. 🙌🙌🙌🥰❤️
Fantastic Video! Thank you for the explanation; been looking for these instructions!
This was a great video. I've only been using mine with the foot switch. Now I'm going to change to the remote. This video makes it easy. I'll need to jot down what 0-9 do so I can go to any of them in a moment.
Finally, a video that has the information I needed.. thank you. 👍👍💯💯
Thanks Ron, I hate reading instructions! Chauvet GigBar2 should come with your youtube demo! Simple but very effective - Thankyou!!
Having trouble getting it to just stop on one color for slow dancing. Just the two middle lights. Did it once but can't get it to duplicate after 30 minutes of trying everything. Great video and very helpful Ron!
Great video. Personally I'm getting bored with the presets on my gig bar. I never realized the strobes had various looks, so that should keep me busy for the next few weddings...
Thanks for the demo. I'm looking forward to getting mine soon. 😀
Very clear explanation. Thanks for breaking it down.
Great video, thank you
Thanks for the review on the remote, much appreciated.
I bought one of these when they first came out and I had a lot of trouble getting mine to respond to the wireless remote. It is the gigbar 2. I tried putting a new battery in the remote, without any success. It would respond occasionally but I had to keep pushing the button over and over. After about 3 gigs with it, I finally just stopped using it. The foot controller is even more worthless than the remote. I keep planning on trying to control it with some sort of a dmx controller, but I haven't found one that will access the factory presets and run on sound active. I thought the adj NE1 maybe a solution, but I heard that it doesn't work with sound active. I wish chauvet offered something like the adj airstream IR that would allow an ipad to work in place of the cheesey remote and function with their IR fixtures. I am still looking for an easy solution. I'm not big on programming complicated dmx stuff, I want a basic controller that will function properly. I thought about checking into "soundswitch", If anybody has any suggestions please comment. Thanks, DJ-B-rad Oklahoma
Mahalo for ur quick tutorial it’s very helpful
Great review. Thank you!
Thanks, great demo
found what i needed. thank you so much...
dj Mendixx glad to hear. Any questions, let me know.
exactly what i was looking for. thanks!
The statement regarding the strobe and footswitch appears too early in the video. It should have appeared when I was talking about the footswitch. Strobe functions only work with the remote. Thanks for watching!
Very Very Good Video. Thanks Ron!
great video, do you know how wide the bar is? thanks
Is there a way with the remote or controls to have the pars constantly on doing a flash like at 2:44 but like still allow the other lights to do their thing at the same time. I just hate how this light leaves you in the dark sometimes.
Being in the dark is frustrating at times, I hear ya. Unfortunately, other than the 9 or so presets, I don't know of a way to control this with the remote or footswitch. If you're using DMX however, it may be able to be programmed.
Good video does anyone know how to link the remote to the gigbar ? Or what setting should It be on the back of the bar? I am new to this.
I have just ordered the new 2.0 version, just wanted to know if I connected a DMX cable running from my PA system to the gigbar will it work automatically going by the sound of the music from my speakers, or would I need to have a contoller to operate it? Also does the sound mode work off the sound coming from the speakers? Thanks in advance :)
Hi, great demo. Can you turn on all of the lights for a white wash? If so how?
Cliff Gillespie Since the derby’s have a motor and move, you’ll want to use just the pars. Press the Auto button then Number 1, and the the white or color button. You can adjust the brightness as well. Hope this helps
Great I have one now love it
Glad to hear that Jerome. Congrats on your purchase!
Thanks! This is still pertinent!
How do you program the gigbar 2 to your remote? what setting do you put it on?
@@acortez2002 This is for the gig bar 1. Not sure if the 2 will work the same way.
Great video! How far away from the Gig Bar were you?
About 15 ft.
This would be great if the Derbys had a white led that simulated mirror ball for dinner and slow dances at my weddings. I guess the Radius 2's will still be in the line up.
I found that if you press the "Fade" button on the remote it will put the unit into a mode close to what you want. It includes laser (only in red, no strobing), pars and derbys on a continuous rotation through all colors. By using the +/- buttons to set the turn the fade speed down, it is a nice slow color wash and slow derby action You can also dim the derbys/pars with the '%' button, including turning off completely and leaving only the laser on.
One strange thing is that if the previous mode was set by the footswitch then the fade button results in exactly what I just described above, but if the previous mode was set by the remote then the fade button also includes the strobe lights. However, you can quickly kill the strobes by pressing the strobe button.
I'm still trying to figure out what, if anything, the 'Manual' and 'Speed' buttons on the remote do. No mention in the documentation, and no effect that I can tell from trying various press sequences.
Great information...thanks
Thank you for posting. How do you get the pars only to show a certain color? What button is assigned for the pars only? thank you.
I had to mess around with it but basically hit the auto button, then press a color then press 1. It should stay solid color with no flashing. Then if you want to change color just press any of the color buttons.
My IRC remote 0-9 changes color only. How do I get it to control differed my parts like in this video?
Can you turn just the strobe off in the sound active mode?
Yes sir. You can keep everything but the strobes.
hi Ron hey on the gig bar 2 there's two laser colors red & green and my green isn't working i'm not seeing the green no more. do you what's up with my gig bar 2 ?
Can I use just pink on this????
HI ! i have 2 of these fixtures for one year now and i'm using them in events .Very satisfied this is a great video you created and thank you for the info about the remote . Remote works fine but it has some issues . You have to point it exactly at the sensor and if your DJbooth is underneath and the fixtures are at 2m + sometimes it's not working . Anyway i was thinking i can control these lights via ADJ myDMX 2.0 software . Do you know if there is a way to ''sync'' or ''transfer'' the auto and sound programs from the remote to the software so i can plug a midi controller and have a more spontaneous performance ? Thank you !
Does the IRC-REMOTE have the battery included or will we need to buy one
DJ PACMAN it’s included. It’s one of those button batteries
Ron Barbour Thank You. I have the Remote but it doesn’t work on my Gigbars IRC nor Rotosphere
hi! Can I use the same remote control with Chauvet LL-301LD ???
What do the R, G, B, A do on the remote? And what exactly do you press on the remote to get the par and derby lights to stand still on one colour?
Colors - Red Green Blue Amber
Can the lights be dimmed with the remote?
my question too!!
Yes with the % button!
Why you didnt play any music, what is in your mind?
@@zupp.social the video is not for you.
Great video , I reckon this is the video that sold it to me so I brought 2 .
I am trying to dim the strobes as they are too bright , any tips , I am using the manual and trying to use the DMX value on channel 9 but its just not working.
brett mashado I'm trying to brighten my strobes because they are too dim. Did you figure anything out with dimming yours? I was able to adjust the pars but not the strobes.
put gels on the strobes
I shut mine off at weddings, let them rip at proms.
It has a section in the user manual that says you CAN dim them but I’ve yet to figure out how to get there, may use a dmx controller, I’m not sure I just do like the other guy said and turn them off when playing certain gigs
Ron, can I ask how high the pole goes? I've watched several videos on this light, and nobody shows the up and down of the pole. The way it's setup in your (and everyone else's) video looks like if you're any taller than 5'5, you're going to block a lot of light. Please let me know if it goes any higher! Thanks.
It's about 8' tall fully extended.
Why don't you show what setting to put the light on to get the remote to work. My remote does nothing with this gigbar. I'm frustrated.. please help. Thanks
Hmm. There is no setting for the remote, only the footswitch. I would ensure that the SYS menu has the WIFI turned off so that only the remote will work and won't fight the footswitch. Page 28 of the manual talks about the remote operation. Good luck man!
The wifi is on.. that must be the problem! I am heading over to check it out. Many thanks!!
My remote not working right?? You know what’s the issue?
Does it do anything? Change the batteries and see if it makes a difference. Sounds silly, however mine started acting funny and then stopped almost altogether. New batteries was the easy fix. Good luck man!
how does the foot switch work?
I don't really use it, however you need to turn on the wireless feature through the menu on the bar first. Then once the foot switch connects, you can control the functions with the pedals. It's tricky, but once you figure out what each pedal does, it's not so bad. Good luck
Ron Barbour thanks. Just purchased 2 of them. Going to try it out with the footswitch
Thank you
I never like to use auto programs. I always use DMX Control even in these fixtures.
Are the darby's any good? They look a little weak and lame.
Have to admit, they are pretty lame. Nothing like you'd expect. They simply shine a colored beam without moving. I use other darby lights along with this rig.
Is it still worth it? I'm going to try to buy them off somebody for $275, just don't want to regret it because of the cheap looking effects.
Well that’s a good price for sure. There is a gig bar 2, but I don’t know what the difference is and it close to 5 bills. Personally, I like it and don’t regret my purchase. With the remote, there is a lot of flexibility, even if the derby’s are more like pars. Good luck man!
I appreciate the time you took to respond. It's very helpful. Thank you.
It would've helped if you showed the buttons you were pushing while making changes. Some were obvious, but NOT all. Also, no mention of the "%" and"Fade" buttons.
ZillaYT Sorry that this video wasn't helpful to you. The majority of the buttons for the functions are the numbers 1 - 9. I don't know what the others you mentioned do nor do I claim to be an expert with this light. This was only supposed to be a basic how to video.
This is control moving
The gigbar is too much, Annoying-it gives the feeling you just got pulled over. Why on earth would anyone want a goofy blinkety blink amateur setup like that...?...
What he didn't show was it in fade mode which I use as a wedding dj for slow dances. Very elegant in that mode. Plus you have the ability to do a simple color wash and also in sound active mode to change with the beat for upbeat dancing. It's a very versatile, lightweight and clean system. I agree that having everything going crazy at once is usually obnoxious, but this system is so much more than that. The point of this video was just to give an overview of the remote.
are you a Dj or a band ? this thing is phenomenal. one easy set up and one power wire.
Not sure who that question was directed to, but I'll give my two cents. I was in a band but now I DJ. I agree, it is a great light and Dandy makes a huge point with the fade mode. I should have included that.
Ron Barbour I am directing it at Jeff. Calling it an amateur set up is an amateur comment in itself . Great video, I own two of these and I love them. I also own the 4 bar. One wire set up, who wouldn't? I remember using t bars and par 64 on a chaser. That was a pain. Especially with those hot ass bulbs.
Awesome review, thank you!
Thank you
