ADs don't care about your "passion". They run a business. It's how much sale can they leverage from popular models and in this case he is lucky because they are using his videos as marketing/publicity.

Does a new Rolex have a thin plastic protection on the bracelet to protect it from scratches ? Because I would not want my new Rolex to be already scratche

What I like is everytime you look at the colours of the watch - Red/Blue Bezel and the White features you will be reminded of where you bought your grail watch - Red, White & Blue of the US of A!!! I got a new 41mm sub black dial last month from my local Rolex AD , such a buzz to buy such a watch at retail . I have bought 4 watches that I really wanted before the dealer offered me a sub . The other watches are air king , explorer 39mm , DJ 41 blue dial jubilee bracelet, 41 DJ bi metal rose all bought at retail
Wonderful video :) I also have the same mindset with my local AD and see this relationship as a real long term one. Beside the buying experience, it's always a pleasure to have a chat with them and I often stay more than one hour in the shop, even if I don't buy anything.

I had a very similar story. I had been after a white face Daytona from the uk for a while and had been told the wait could be a few years. I was taking my wife on her birthday to New York. I contacted all the ADs in Manhattan and one of them had the watch so reserved it and picked it up when I was there. It was awesome and to do it whilst on a holiday. Enjoy the watch and the journey

I am really happy Rolex recognised your passion for their brand. Maybe supplying your grail watch thru one of their American ADs instead of your usual AD was how Rolex tested your commitment ( They must be contacted 1000s of times a day by ppl claiming their passion). No flipper would expense such a trip thinking they could make a profit. I have a feeling more buying opportunities will open for you in future with your AD.

Here I was assuming that you'd take a quick flight to Europe from here in Dubai, but going to the states, congrats, I think the Pepsi GMT function was probably made for journeys like this.

Good news for you but as you have highlighted many of us simply cannot get a new Rolex from and AD. I have been trying here in France for two years now. Recently one AD promised me in writing that if I send him a deposit of €2000 he would order me a new OP 41mm in Turquoise. I sent him the money and then he backed out saying he couldn't order me any watch as they have to wait to see what Rolex send them. Bizarre! I got my money back of course so I went to the AD in Bordeaux with what was basically a pleasant begging letter. He smiled, took the letter and I left the shop. I doubt I will get one. In the meantime I have ordered a new Tudor Double Date for delivery pre Christmas and today bought a basic Longines Spirit in black 40mm for day to day wear. I also have a BB58 Blue which I like a lot. Enjoy your watches but what you have shown and proved to me is that there is no decent and fair way for ADs to treat customers who wish to order.
I think there are many many factors that come to their mind to whom and when they allocate a watch. I definitely learned a lot especially recently after going through every detail why I got the watch. I may put it in a video together in the near future :). It is obviously not the case that I just got randomly the call.
Nice video, but at this point I think u did too much for a watch that is artificially made scarce, theirs nothing special about this watch, your 126234 looks way better than this, but to each his own, congrats still.

Every time I go to Tokyo I stop in Shinjuku area there is a few Rolex second hand dealer, last time I bought a sub date 2018 for 940 000 yen witch is around 9 000$ in Paris impossible to find one with full set box and paper under 12800$, unless you ready to be on the waiting list minimum 2 years for a new one !!!

Every time I go to Tokyo I stop in Shinjuku area there is a few Rolex second hand dealer, last time I bought a sub date 2018 for 940 000 yen witch is around 9 000$ in Paris impossible to find one with full set box and paper under 12800$, unless you ready to be on the waiting list minimum 2 years for a new one !!!
