ankh shield takes like 20 minutes usually for me, and its just one of the many steps for the colossus soul, which is one of the 5 steps for the Soul of dimensions, which is one of the 5 (9 if DLC on) items for the Soul of Eternity, so yea, it's pretty insane.
@@UmbraMG explain to me how the ankh shield takes you twenty minutes to make. It requires 9 items that have a 1/100 or 1/50 drop chance from different enemies, some of which are harder to obtain than others considering the spawn rate of some enemies. It also requires items from pre hardmode as well. When do you usually make it? Because I might be able to understand if it’s something you make in endgame but if you try to get the ankh shield when it’s intended (mid hardmode-post plantera), then there’s no way it should take you only 20 minutes to craft
@@tyleraguallo9527 the mod where enemies drop tokens, farm some tokens from a blood moon and you easily have 200+ hardmode tokens, each ankh shield item takes about 20 tokens, except for bezoar, which I usually find trying to find queen bee.
I don't see a reason to actually try crafting the ankh shield. You'll get it eventually if you just play the game normally.

well deku, the only things you should be scared of are, losing progress due to game crashes, and losing your sanity to bullet hell bosses.
Honestly, if you just stay away from the various Fargo's mods you should be fine. Calamity and Thorium have crafting trees closer to vanilla, and with Magic Storage you really don't have to worry about storage space after a certain point.

@@breadspy5974 if you keep track of it, it gets pretty easy to craft them in your current progression and save them for later
Crafting the soul of eternity might be hard but coding in all of the iteams to craft takes probaly 100 times more hours then crafting it
If I remember right, more than half of the soul of eternity powers are just the effects of the items used to craft it, so it's basically the whole mod's code + the calamity/thorium/etc code copy pasted into one giant item (I absolutely don't want to read the code of this abomination)
@@yoankyun4394 it likely just references the items used to craft it for determining what it does, so it would be more of a "ability tree" rather than a "ability list"
Not quite, it also maps up the effectiveness of some of the abilities as well. I know for a fact that the damage bonuses are quite a bit higher than what the soul of the universe provides. 30% up to 50%, or something like that. So it has to track those separately.

Here's a very fast summary of things in this one's recipe:
Every single armor set, along with a few items from that tier
Every single accessory, and half a dozen mounts
A unique drop from every single boss, every single biome, and a dozen rare enemies
20 different weapons of each class from various stages in the game
All the crafting materials, and every crafting station

I have a friend that legitimately got the soul of eternity, which is genuinely terrifying.
yeah cuz it actually isn't super hard to get
most of these crazy steps come from the enchantment accessories which are each made out of an armor set + like 3 other weapons. the thing is, fargo's souls adds bosses called champions which drop 3 random enchantments from specific categories every time you kill them which saves countless hours of time
the rest of the ridiculous crafting steps come from the souls which require around 10-15 different accessories and weapons to craft each. these are what actually takes the longest to acquire, though fortunately fargo's souls adds some very useful qol features that reduce the grinding time for each of them from like 4 hours to 30 minutes.

Took me 85 hours to craft (from a new world) WITHOUT calamity and thorium. Goes to show how insane it is.

Yea, in SOA one of the items requires a Greedy Ring, so you’ll need two Greedy Rings for the SoE. That is straight up archaic.
im 48 hours in and almost done havnt slept in 2 days literally have been playing 2 days strate (gotta love school holidays) all this to get all the materials as soon as i can craft the crucible of the cosmos
I crefted it on my super modded world which apart from the dlc mods also had dbz terraria a extreamly broken mod back then for reference one of the items was ssjg and made you deal 400% damege and 400% more speed that plus the soul plus more random things in other mods pused my speed above the 32 integer limit and lopped back in the negatives for a split second intil i completly went of the map and couldn't move at
You can turn off all of the extra effects of it so that it doesn't lag and its still ridiculously OP

@@Another45555 that’s only the cosmetic pets. For the actual effects, there’s a wrench button with a checklist so you can disable any effect you don’t need
When i crafted the Soul of Eternity and equip it my Laptop instantly Dies... So yeah, i never got to use it LMAO.

you can turn some of the effects off to remove lag and effects. the accessory is still insane but there just wouldn't be as many things summoned.

love the idea of this item, it's made to prevent people from "maxing" out.
So that you will always have something to try to achieve. It's never meant to actually be built, but as a far fetched dream, so you don't run out of things to do.
Though, for those who are indeed so inclined to suffer, there are also several lower- but still quite extreme- steps, so should you choose to undertake this mission, you're still actively achieving things; it's a win-win.
@@jacobsiron6929 Fargo's Souls is a pretty good mod in that regard. Yes, it *absolutely* breaks the game balance wise consolidating all these items together.
But it's the completionist's wet dream, and it rewards you _heavily_ for doing so. You have a crowning jewel to show for all that damn work you put in.

@@Master_Chef I agree for the base recipe, that its not too bad, it still takes a few hours excluding bossfights though since all the stupid items that arent included from the mini bosses. And if you do it with the dlc recipe, well then you dont have the luxury of the mini bosses iirc so it would take a very long time, even just one of the mods would vastly increase the grind

The DLC mod actually adds 4 other souls used for the Soul of The Universe, possibly making the DLC crafting steps over quadruple the amount from the normal mod.
the dlc increases the crafting tree of the item from around 500 items to 1622 UNIQUE ITEMS

Dont worry, it's rarity is above white so it wont be destroyed. You'll just have to go in the lava lol

If you wanna become even more OP I recommend also wearing the true mutants armor and also useing the deviantt's, abomination's, and mutants custom accessories (sparkleing heart, abominable wand, mutant eye) also you should also use the mutants special wepon (the penitraitor) and you should use Ancient seal (sold from mutant)
Last part is most important. But before using it, you should turn on every major mod
And i thought that crafting the Terraspark Boots was hard.
wait people think Terraspark Boots are hard? I do admit getting obsidian rose is hard, but the rest is easy and I do it in every run in 1.4!
@@julk1732 I started playing about 2 weeks ago and i spent about 2-3 hours getting ice skates and lava charm so that kinda sucked
but i got obsidian rose fairly quickly though not gonna lie, but looking back at it it's probably one of the easiest compared to where i am now.
@@atlantix7976 w ell i found water walking boots early and got hermes boots after all the other stuff for lightning boots and a few playsessions later I found the only lava charm and ice scates(the world had only 1 chest of each). My sister is now stuck at obsi rose. So thats what progress after a week a week of terraria looks like!=3

@@julk1732 I spent 3-4 hours on the stupid obsidian rose. I also spent about half and hour getting the water walking boots and ice skates. I'm just glad that I happened to find a lava charm when I was exploring because that would've taken forever otherwise.

there is actually a menu for this thing that allows you to toggle its effects so you can turn off all those useless pets

It's really funny that I see this now of all times - I just finished making it yesterday after 2 and a half months because it's such a grind!

I remember crafting the soul of eternity twice already and the 2nd time was easier due to me knowing the patterns of many eternity mode bosses. (Of course I even played in Revengance, Death mode, Defiled mode, Iron heart and Anti-Buff.)

Last year I lined up the entire crafting tree (Thorium & calamity included) in a google doc. It was a whole 52 pages long and took at least 2 weeks of wiki hunting. Probably outdated now due to mods updating over time though.

Whenever I play with fargo's mod,( without dlc sometimes) I usually collect the important items along the way, so when I get past moonlord, I have just about everything.

I have only ever obtained the Soul of Eternity 3 times in any big long-lasting run but that was before the explosion of items needed, such as the Etherium crystal event items and all of the Masomode etc items.

To be honest, if you have IMK sushis mod, the crafting mod ( i forgot name, it tells you how to craft and where its from), and alchemist NPC mod, crafting AND beating Fargos mod takes ~40 hours. 20 is fighting and making homes, 20 is farming for the enchantments and essence. Its best to make as many enchantments before entering hardmode, and getting the essence of berserker, slinger, mage, and summoner is not as hard as you think, as long you get the items as progression wise

It also makes you immune to 77 debuffs(If calamity is installed, if not then it makes you immune to only 67 debuffs), so yeah, fun!
Beta tester here, currently it's advised to not play with big content mods, AKA calamity due to balance issues.

I think fargo includes an ability menu for this item where you can enable only what you want and make sense of it all
I'm so glad that Fargo's 1.4 version of the mod has a checkbox list that let's you manually turn off most of the bullshit.
It's really helpful for keeping my computer from catching fire.

The Soul is so powerful that when I used it in my play through Calamitas called me a cheater after I beat her.
that boss was always such a sore loser
thats because you beat her the first try, without dying, normally you wouldnt do this, however when you DO cheat, She disapears and a text (from her) appears saying: Go to hell.

If you get fargos mutant mod there will be an item that summons all of the vanilla bosses not counting exclusive or event and all of the bosses from the mods that you have which if you don't have any other mode other than the mutant one the only modded boss is the mutant which is ranked higher than supreme calamitas
I have done this grind numerous times. Later down the line, I got more mods to streamline the process better. Like Useful NPCs and the Bags mod. Also, you can craft the Halibut Cannon with 200 Juvenile Wyrm Banners.
200 banners mean 10k juvenile wyrms, on average you get 1 halibut cannon every 1k so it doesnt really help.

I managed to craft the soul of eternity with the dlc mod before, I was using calamity and thorium, but not SOA. And that took me like 3 weeks worth of playing to get, and the character playtime is about 66 hours
I love how the final crafting ingredients are : Soul of Terraria, Soul of the Universe, Soul of Dimensions, r o c k, Soul of Yggdrasil

I did a Fargo Soul + Calamity playthrough a while back, the act of collecting everything and compressing it all down into powerups that stack together is exactly my type of gameplay so I had a great time just farming and getting buff.
That said by the very end when I was making the Souls themselves, my computer was not having it. I was actually getting better results against bosses with individual forces than with the souls because of the lag - which I think probably came down to the Calamity Souls, I get the feeling they're a lot chunkier on the cpu side than the vanilla souls.
It was fun building everything and I had a good time but it was a shame that in the end I couldn't really flex my super powers because the game wasn't prepared to handle it. Would be tempting to do a Souls + Thorium or +SoA run at some point in the future, though as delightful as all of them together sound I do not think it would actually end well.

You also have to get the crucible of the cosmos, which requires every crafting station in the game, in order to craft the soul of eternity
I only ever crafted this once and I was using all the mods that added extra souls, and it took over 100 hours to get
The funny thing is crafting the full soul of eternity also needs the 64bit tmodloader. The regular one runs out of memory of you try to load all the mods required for the full soul of eternity.

Iirc I think you can get if not all, but most of the enchantments from the champion bosses in Fargo’s soul mod
there is also the dragon ball transformations which adds a tiny bit more
I made all 4 souls and i have calamity and thorium and in total it tooke like 10 hours AT MAX . That was like yesterday lmao. I am surpriced that you uploaded this as i was talking to my friend about how insane it is. My poor 4gb ram pc was running on 1 fps and i was in a normal playthrought so making this soul wasn't so bad. I crafted Half enchantments and the rest from champions and the other souls just came in from all the items i made in my playthrought so it wasn't SO bad. The final pink soul took me at least 4 hours. Eternity pumkings and so many stuff and the items kept despawning for sime reason and that was painful lol
You first need to finish all of calamity including bossrush to make it, so its only 10 hours if you have already finished the whole game including all bosses
Just for anyone who is just as insane is I was, you can turn off some effects which can fix your frames by pressing the wrench in the inventory above the crafting recipes
