As a Japanese, I found that we do have sound very similar to and is that of one of the Slavic languages I know of. I liked the mini-listening tests and that helped me to compare.Thank you.
Ok i speak russian and i have been saying ш my whole life without twisting my tongue like that😂 it’s either nit necessary or my pronunciation isn’t perfect, but even if its nit perfect then its on the level of not being perfect that no one has noticed it being flawed lmao, so don’t worry too much about the tongue in my opinion, as ling as you make the sound
The curled young sound you are describing is not SH. But SU as in the word SUre. Sure. The other sound is CH not SH. Ц is also useless. When ТС makes the same sound.
For me щ is just ш but with a smile. Try it, it works.

I wonder how the word "sushi" / "cywn" would be pronounced with the one and the other?
Суши is pronounced like "сушы" because ш is always a hard consonant. "Сущи" spelled with a щ would sound closer to the English pronunciation
