It's better than the paperwork we used to have to do. Thanks for the video.

That's good to know about being able to only apply some of your points instead of all.

Great info! It's also important to remember that if you have preference points in Georgia and use them to apply for a quota hunt, you can use all of your points when applying for a hunt if you want the best odds of being selected. The selection system will only use as many of your preference points as necessary for your selection and any unused points will remain in your account for future use. In short, just because you use a certain number of preference points when applying for a quota hunt doesn't mean you will automatically use/lose all of those points, even if you're selected.

Is there A way to know if a certain hunt takes multiple points to get drawn?

Yes. We did an article about it on our website - huntthesouth.com/georgia-quota-deer-hunts/
It tells you exactly how many points it will take to draw a hunt based on last year's data.

This is super helpful, I didn’t know I could change my points from 1 to 3, I’ll change my quota’s this week. Thank you.

Hi Brian, great review on what's become such a complicated process, applying for out of state hunts! My son, Ron Jr, lives in Milton, GA, and since he turned 50 this year, he's now eligible for a lifetime resident license. I'm out of state, but would love to hunt with him this Fall. Would we have a chance to draw Hard Labor if we do it as a group, and we add another hunter? As much as I'd love to hunt Ossabaw Island with its high success rates, I'd need several draw odd points I don't have! I have a TH-cam channel, and would love to get some footage of a success full Georgia hunt this Fall!
