I have the Perrin 3" turbo inlet and love it. It allows a lot of noise to come through from the turbo. I used the supplied clamps and everything is holding well. I did have to cut the hose to fit my Grimmspeed intake. Also if your intake is 3" you can get the 3" model for the wrx. Boost control is fine with just the hose clamp.
That sucks man. I’ve heard stories of people saying the stock inlet busting open so I ordered mine the day they dropped. Also looked at the TDMImports inlet but they were crazy expensive lol. The nostrum is a good part to get for peace of mind when running corn. I got a fuel leak caused by bad seal on my in cabin tank. First time filling up tank in a few months since they did the recall for LPFP. I probably fudged the install on my 2nd reinstall of my dw300c bc my first time I didn’t have any issues with full gas tank lol. Now I’m kinda concerned if that affected my tune since I just found out about this now.
With E85 or you E60 mix with Lucas ethanol lubricant & stabilizer the green stuff meant for ethanol, I run it with every fill up 1oz for 5 gallons and never have issues with E60 or more it protects oil and provides lube to fuel system will fix all ur oscillation issues
Omg I completely forgot about that stuff. I ran in in my last wrx with e85 and haven't put it in this car once. I'll have to start running that again. Thanks for the reminder!
I have the Perrin inlet and custom mounted my GrimmSpeed solenoid on the chassis of the vehicle and ran a 90 degree fitting from the inlet. Super clean install
Just got a P0000 and P0003 on very cold start while running the MAPerformance Stage 1 OTS tune… Flashed back to stock, replaced battery (which was junk and needed to be done) and cleaned MAF. Been fine for a few weeks now on the stock tune….been waiting for that check engine light to come back up 🤷🏻♂️
I run the Perrin inlet and it’s been holding up perfect. No issues at all. If you don’t want to retune the car just buy an oem inlet. The one that’s closest to oem air flow is the grimmspeed. But Perrin or TD inlets will affect AFR too much 👍🏽
Funny thing is, you said the Grimm speed was on 4-5 week back order? It’s been well over that since this video was posted, and I ordered my GS turbo inlet form IIR over 4 months ago and still have yet to receive it. So you made the right choice.
Yeah Grimmspeed made a public post about them last week mentioning that they were extremely overwhelmed with the amount of orders and were trying their best to get caught up. Seems like everyone who owns a wrx bought one lol
@@StreetInspired1 yeah it definitely seems that way! Just sucks because I ordered to prevent having this issue, and today I have the same issue as you do. Inlet on order for months, and now my stock one cracked yesterday 😑😂
I asked my tuner and he said he wouldn't install it without tuning. However he did recently tell me that once I install it do a cruise log and he will see if it changed anything and may make a small revision if need be

Super fan of your channel. Down to earth and your expectations are realistic. Question: I have a 2021 WRX and it’s stock. What are the first 3 mods you’d do for power?
That’s a bummer bro. I think you previously mentioned not getting more power from adding a FMIC since you already had a tune so at least if you get a tune again you will also get a bit more power from that too.
@@StreetInspired1 I have a kinda noob question. I recently went Cobb flex fuel on my 15WRX running a target e50 blend an upgraded DW LPFP. Ive heard you mention a few times having fuel oscillation issues and was curious what you mean by that. I run a full tank of 91 after every 3 tanks of e50 just to help lubricate my HPFP. My tuner said it wasn’t necessary to do that but I read it was a good idea. Hoping you could explain the oscillation issue and what I should look out for. Thanks! Ps. Thanks for the solid content 👍🏼

@@StreetInspired1 I understand that. Though I personally wouldnt worry too much about that. I have not seen one crack where yours did, more so where they bolt to the turbo.
