Until the surface or this gaming surface look a like. Has a full android app store (not amazon) I have zero interest in them. But that's my view ofc
I will never buy a convertible touch screen laptop without this. And Microsoft needs to get with program. Apple MacBook air has some ios apps (and doesn't have a touch xcreen) so it's coming soon. So Microsoft better catch up
Or once apple makes a surface look a like with full ioss apps (and axes its ipad) I will leave Microsoft and not be loyal anymore

Asus is doing a tremendous thing messing up the tablet market. This is not for every one , but whenever someone is crossing the 1600$ mark, they will have a look into this. In some years, this price will go down and become more viable all the users.

This is exactly the gaming machine I was waiting for…I spend almost half of the year traveling. And I love playing games with my friends and alone sometimes. This ultra portable and ultra powerful solution match my needs perfectly. Is it expansive? Probably, but it’s unique and it does what he promise to deliver, so if you travel a lot like me and like gaming, this is t,he best you can get out there in my humble opinion!

I've been using mine for the past 3 days - i900H, 3050ti and if you love tablets and also want an ultraportable powerful gaming device you will love this.
Just look at it as a slightly more expensive and thicker Surface Pro 8, but far more powerful.

    • @jayinhd4296
      @jayinhd4296 2 ปีที่แล้ว +5

@@AdmiralBison if you actually price in the i9 Processor, GPU, the added Keyboard, GDDR5 Ram, and 1tb m.2... it's wayyyyyy cheaper than the Surface Pro 8. The 1tb version of the surface pro is $2140 on best buy as of right now. That's without the type cover, just a i7 processor and 16gb of ram. No GPU either. Lol. As far as tablets go... This by far is the most powerful cheapest. Simply because of the i9, 3050ti, and type cover coming with it.

A lot of people still don't understand or get the 'Tablet' form factor :
Surface Pro 8, 12.9 iPad Pro, Galaxy Tab S8+\Ultra etc...
So naturally will not see the value or use case for something like this right away.
However for tablet lovers that also want power to AAA game - I RECOMMEND this.
    I know because I've been using my Z Flow 13 - i900, 3050Ti for the past 3 days playing
Fallout 4, Elden Ring, Star Craft II, Halo Infinite and PS3, Xbox360 and Switch emulation.
The screen is good for 13" and you can get away running the latest AAA games at 720P to hit those 60 fps.

There is one big problem with this review. They never considered versatility (until the conclusion statement)

    So... possibly a stupid question.
Anyone know how well this runs VR? I used to use a ROG laptop to run the original RIFT, but its been so long since I've touched the headset that I don't know what the state of it is, in terms of hardware required to run.
With and without the eGPU, I'm curious if anyone knows. :)

Production note: this is a good video person for this channel!
However, to include Dieter in B-roll footage just takes us out of the moment and back to the golden age, lol

@@CameronFaulkner1989 Thanks for replying. I figured it was from some previous review! Great gesture, the guy is legendary... and "more Dieter" never hurts lol. BTW Cameron, I do think you are very well-suited for this channel, even when it's just VO work. I'd love for some other Verge presenters to level up to what you've shown here, especially regarding pacing.

I game on my surface pro just fine. I have so many games in my steam library (don't we all) that relegating the less strenuous games to my surface works for my gaming workflow (for lack of a better word). The bigger titles I don't want to play on a tiny screen anyway. I want them on my 22in at LEAST or my console. Kinda like the way I treat movies. I don't mind watching an old jackie chan movie on my surface or a couple anime episodes but if I'm gonna watch The Batman, it's gonna be in the theatre, Turning Red? My front room HDR display. There's nothing wrong with buying one machine that can do everything, you do you, but if you have the means to buy a flow for elden ring then you have the means to buy a nice TV and a console and play it in style the way it's meant to be played.
    But to each their own.

Great review, interesting device. I'm not a gamer but do a lot of multi-media stuff that uses a gpu, but not at the level of the most demanding games. So it's in a middle ground -- in between no discrete gpu like the Surface Pro 8, and a full-on gaming computer, which is overkill for me.
I'd like to know how the inking/painting experience is on this. That's another feature I use a lot on my Windows devices. Anyway, thanks for an informative and nuanced review!

i just got the i9. i have the surfacepro8 loved it, waited to see what specs theyd put int the 9. was dissapointed not enough power, processor too slow, no option for video card. so i decided to side w/ the asus. i dont really play much games, but i do solid modeling engineering sotware for my business. i love the tablets/including the surfacepro8, but i'm very very happy to get more power for less w/ the flow z. thx for a great review
