Thank you I’m 57 and the first time I have ever made candy apples but love them all my life you made it seems so easy thank you for sharing your recipe my grandkids will love them
I love this recipe. I am making this for the second time for my third grade student. I just would advise not to use wax paper. Use the parchment paper as directed. 😩lol!
As the corn syrup in the vid was boiling, I think you could probably try to recreate the image by boiling it till it looks like the one in the video. That's what I think though
you can drop a small ball of it into cold water the ball of boiled sugar will turn into whats called "hard crack" stage that means when you pull the ball of sugar out it will be hard like a lollipop (done)- or it will be "soft" stage - it will flatten between your fingers when likely squeezed flatten when you take the ball out of the water soft like clay - not done
Wow, thank you i remember them as a kid . Was it wait until the thermometer hits 280 degrees ( Celsius or Fahrenheit by the way ? ) ? , and then turn the heat off ?? Amazing that when it hits that spot that is it
THESE LOOK AWESOME, DO DELICIOUS AND SCUMPTIOUS, MY STOMACH IS MOANING THEY LOOK EXTREMELY GOOD, CANT WAIT TO FOLLOW THIS PERFECT WALKTHROUGH AND DEVOUR SOME GLORIOUS TOFFEE APPLES, MMM I HOPE I HAVE MILK AT HOME SO I CAN HAVE A DRINK WHILST MY TOASTE BUDS HAVE THE TIME OF THERE LIVES, THANKS FOR THE TUTORIAL SOUL FOOD COOKING, GONNA GO SINK MY MOUTH INTO SOME OF THESE BAD BOYS
What temperature should it be at I have been doing 300°-302°? I also dip my apples in boiling water for 10 seconds and let them. sit out for 24 hours before dipping them trying to avoid bubbles
I made candy apples in the past and the candy after sitting on the apples turned out way to hard to even bite into the apple. Does the recipe do that too or are you actually able to bite them after they cool?
I was able to eat the apples in this recipe but the candy was firm. It's very important you use a candy thermometer and monitor the temperature closely.
Thanks for the memories and the recipe. I can totally see using packs of unflavored Kool Aid to get different flavors especially with a more brittle recipe.
In my whole 28 years of existence I have never had a candied apple and now you're telling me they were that easy the entire time!?!?!?!?
And u could of got them at the mall as well wit decorations sweets on top😂😂😂

Need to try this recipe, for some reason I’m craving candy apples 🍎🙄
Maybe because of quarantine
When I was 6 I had apple Candy's
and I wondered how to make

What happens if U don’t have a thermometer. What can I do?
As the corn syrup in the vid was boiling, I think you could probably try to recreate the image by boiling it till it looks like the one in the video. That's what I think though
you can drop a small ball of it into cold water
the ball of boiled sugar will turn into whats called "hard crack" stage
that means when you pull the ball of sugar out it will be hard like a lollipop (done)- or it will be "soft" stage - it will flatten between your fingers when likely squeezed
flatten when you take the ball out of the water
soft like clay -
not done
Nobody:
Deku: S U R P A R I S U !
How long can it's stay
How does it taste?
how do you clean the pot after?
That's actually a really good question. Maybe something like boiling water and bicarbonate of soda?
I just soak in really hot water and if I have to I soak it again
@@ginablanken3120boil water in it let set about 10 min
Do u need corn syrup
Can you add cinnamon flavor or red hots?
+Jennifer Kleczka I haven't tried it before but if you do let me know how it turns out. Thanks for watching.
I did.
I use Red Hots. Very good.
Can I save candy mixture if it’s some left over?
Wow, thank you i remember them as a kid . Was it wait until the thermometer hits 280 degrees ( Celsius or Fahrenheit by the way ? ) ? , and then turn the heat off ?? Amazing that when it hits that spot that is it
Tony I guess Fahrenheit, the temp seems to high to be Celsius but I'm not sure
I wonder if there someone change that red sugar coat
With red gummy bear jelly,
Is it possible?
How would it taste?
What if you don't have a thermometer how many minutes it takes to get to brittle?
Hi! Thanks for watching. This recipe requires very strict temperature control. It's difficult to get good results without a thermometer.
@@SoulFoodCooking aww man okay
Do you stir before turning on the heat?
Honestly my question as well , do we stir before turning the heat on??? 😭
Before you dip the apples does the coating have to be cold ?
No the coating is hot. It is important to monitor the temperature or the coating will not stick to the apples. Thanks for watching!!!
What is the name brand of your candy apple thermometer?
I've been looking in Wal-Mart and there's stated not to put it in food... So I need help!!!
Walmart has them. It will say Candy thermometer. They are right next to the meat thermometers. Look in the housewares department or order on Amazon
Those scrumptious delicious looking candy apple need some shredded coconut on them
How do you avoid getting bubbles when dipping your apples?
If your candy is too hot or not hot enough and also if you insert the apple too quickly you will get many bubbles.
What temperature should it be at I have been doing 300°-302°? I also dip my apples in boiling water for 10 seconds and let them. sit out for 24 hours before dipping them trying to avoid bubbles
I heat my syrup to 285 degrees.
Must it be green apples or red foodcolouring
Can you add candy to it
Any Eri fans?
Celsius or fahrenheit in this video?
Does anyone know if at any point while making the candy, do you stir the contents?
Resist the temptation to stir and it will be ok as long as you closely watch the temperature. Thanks for watching!!
Hi around how much does it come out to do 48 apples?
Would any type of food thermometer work not just a candy thermometer?
any accurate food thermometer that can handle the heat will work
Thank you so much I made them and they turned out great!
I'm happy that it worked well for you and thanks for watching!!!
Hi, where did you buy the food coloring?
I get my coloring from my local cake/candy supply store - Thanks for Watching!!
Who here from MHA?
Mee lmao
Meeee
Me lol Haha

Can I use different colors instead of red
La Shawnna Leggett yes I tried it and it works fine
So for caramel do you add brown sugar?
Yes and butter and cream or condensed milk and mixing constantly with silicone spatula so it doesn't burn.
Can I just dry them on the porcelain tray
No! They'll stick so bad you'll have to break your tray to get them off it
كم تدوم من الوقت دون ان تذوب طبقة السكر
Does golden syrup work too ?"
Great question. I haven't tried any other syrup with this recipe. If you try it let me know how it turns out.
Yes it does I've tried it
I go to 300 hard crack on the boiling part and everyone loves them
Celsius or Fahrenheit?
Candy apples
But l had red apple and l see ever one with the Granny Smith apple l better go with that don’t want to mess it up for the first time thank you Barbara
One word
Eri
I am eating one now
Thanks for the memories and the recipe. I can totally see using packs of unflavored Kool Aid to get different flavors especially with a more brittle recipe.
What’s the music?
Cool video:)))
Dora Joy
Holly
this is the original but was that regular cooking dye and oh try the coconut on bottom
Its Original
When you come to see the recipe but ended up watching a k-pop add-
I don’t have corn syrup. Can I use maple syrup instead?
The way she talks reminds me of Siri😂
I thought u boil the apples to remove the wax?
I only boil them when I make caramel apples.
Soul Food Cooking , I've tried making them but it just comes our to liquidity. I do every step. what am I doing wrong?
This sounds like a temperature problem. You may want to try a different thermometer. I hope it works for you! Thanks for Watching!
you don't boil the apples just clean with warm water and a cloth/ i use a drop of dawn and rinse really well that gets rid of the wax
...My volume was on ↓ so do u stir it?
We need this machine. I bet Sams club got it.
Do u have a recipe for cinnamon candy apples?
For a cinnamon flavoured candy apple, add a ¼ teaspoon of cinnamon oil or a 1/4 cup of cinnamon hearts with the sugar mixture before heating.
I’ve never eaten candy apples before
eri's mouth is watering
👍
Be honest, your here from bnha.
I though i was the only one lmao
