But you remember the kind of candy apple kit they use to have,it was a much better texture nd it was the real deal. The same look, taste nd texture like you would get from the Carnival or ice cream truck. And we grew up on using sweet red apples, the good kind you would have at Christmas that gave out a loud sweet apple scent.Them were the good old days.Do you remember they use ti sell the kit in the Grocery Store it came in a yellow flat box i believe.I do remember this clear pack nd that was the sweet glaze i wonder why they don't sell it anymore it was the best

Does the candy crunch? I used to make a lot of candy and candy apples for my kids (30+ years ago)! I want to try this recipe but if it is like Carmel or soft candy the apples tend to get old faster. So making them ahead of time would be hard to keep fresh. Yes, thank you for letting everyone know about the apple's juice melting the candy at the top! Dry the Apple tops and tap the stick in so juice doesn't escape; don't twist this gives extra space between apple's skin and the stick so juice oozes out and escapes! Also make sure there are no bruises, cuts or dents in the apples! This will insure the apple stay fresh for longer periods. I make enough candy apples for seconds and try to have enough of them ready for days. I will try this awesome recipe! All ways good to find a reduced sugar recipe (no corn syrup)!
So would you use one tablespoon of lemon juice instead of vinegar I seen she said you can smell it but not taste no way can I enjoy my candy with that smell lol just asking so my daughter and I can try her recipe with a substitute for vinegar
I just want to say I enjoyed your video. There is an oops in the description below. I'm glad you verbally told us your recipe. Just looking out for you, girl. I love how they don’t have a cup of candy at the base. Does this make the candy shell thinner? I ask bc I really don’t like when you need a knive to eat a candy apple. I’d rather a thinner shell. If you reply thanks so much. :)
Hello, No but if you like it thinner make sure you only dip once. You can also make you candy softer, if you look on your candy thermometer you will see soft crack. You only cook your mix until it reaches 280f that will give you a softer candy.

If you have a clear glass lid is best to cover it this way the sugar won't stick to the pot and you can monitor the sugar all at once.
