Like bike lights, what is the point of saving a few bucks and then you’re stuck with crappy shoes? Spend just a bit more for the top quality stuff that you’re going to have for many years.
Hello! Love the channel. Agree with your assessment. I purchased the lace up road shoe on sale for $40. I was curious about performance quality considering MSRP and at the least thought they would be good for casual rides or commuting. Dig the looks.(Also a 90s Adidas cycling fan) My current road shoe for comparison is a DMT R4 which is a lightly reinforced mesh with a vented carbon sole. The Adidas looks good feels ok but the sole isn't very stiff. It is not a performance shoe. The lace up version is a fashion shoe, which is fine, but I wouldn't pay more than $60 for them. For what's on offer I think that's a fair price. Keep the rubber side down!!!
Was literally about to pull the trigger on the boa shoe today as the boxing day sale went live - your video notification came up just before I did... Thank you lol
I use Lake shoes have done for a few years they are all excellent I have various models and all are brilliant.. I wouldn’t use another brand, they also offer. Various widths fro the toe area really great dude.. merry Christmas to you and your family Louis I hope you have a wonderful day 😊 Pete
I love collecting Adidas cycling shoes, mostly name Eddie Merckx.. an interesting pair I was able to obtain is an Eddie Merckx, made only for sponsored riders in the USA. They are written on as prototype, looking exactly like the Merckx of the 80’s with a carbon sole.
Thank you for the review. Being a female, I look for a narrow lass and a stiff sole. I have not tried Adidas road cycling shoes. But, anyway Merry Christmas and Happy New Year to you and your family ❤🎉
Lol...I fondly remember falling over the first time I used cleats and forgot to loosen the straps. Some guy walking a dog stopped to free me! That's a great ride..
I used to ride in Adidas lace up cycling shoes in the 80's, they were fine (except I didn't get along very well with the laces), I actually gave them to a friend.........
IMO Mavic Cosmic Ultimate and Northwave Extreme Pro, are 2 of the most comfortable to stiff full carbon sole shoe you can buy without breaking the bank; when buying them on sale.
Great video... What about crankbrother eggbeater pedals? Have you seen people using it? I use and I love it... Idea for next video. Compare "road shoes" with "gravel shoes" in a road cycling....
Adidas recently started making shoes again for spinning (after Tiem found that market), and since they made the investment in that they probably just went ahead and make a whole road line. I wear a 15 4E, and found that the 50 Wide competition last by Lake Cycling is perfect for my foot. I also found a pair of Sidi Trace in 50 Mega. Sidi's mega last has tons of volume but the sole plate sucks. I got my Lakes on final sale, and they're the cheapest model from 2 years ago. They've since made their new multiple-BOA system which looks awesome since it independently locks down so many parts of your foot. I'll hopefully be able to find something like that whenever my shoes wear out, but that may never happen lol.
Never knew Adidas made cycling shoes! Comfort is key. For me, if they feel cushy like a running shoe, then i'm sold. I'm in NJ, so a winter shoe would be nice too. Bro- you look no different now, since the 90's, good for you!
Next after saddle is shoes. For me it's in that order of importance to get it right. I spent so much money trying to figure out the right fit for my feet. My foot measurements is little awkward. I'm in-between wide and extra wide. A shoe that's even a little loose gives me callus on my toes. So far shimano has been good to me. It's one of those fit issues that's hard to experiment because well it gets expensive real quick trying out different shoe brands
Happy Holidays and thanks for your review 👍🏾 I know I asked about the shoes, when I saw you wearing them in another video and apparently I wasn’t the only one. I think I will try them. Does the shoe fit big or small in regards to your foot size?
The only bike shoe from Adidas offering that’s worth buying is the Velosamba for casual daily walkable bike shoes. Adidas road shoes offering don’t even have stiff carbon soles. Which doesn’t make it a serious bike shoe.
How ‘bout the gravel shoes. I own 3 pairs and love them. Comfortable as fk, breathable, sexy boot (hugs my feet), light for what it does, firm sole and best walking shoe ever.
Like bike lights, what is the point of saving a few bucks and then you’re stuck with crappy shoes? Spend just a bit more for the top quality stuff that you’re going to have for many years.
I bought the black adidas road shoes last fall when they went on sale. Your analysis is spot on.
Thanks for watching 👍🏾
I got a pair for $70 and for that price they’re just fine.

I’ve got my second pair of specialized torch 2.0 shoes, they just work for me. These adidas looks so good, hopefully they improve more and more.

Hey Pete! Thanks for sharing and Merry Christmas to you as well👍🏾
Dang bruh..you been cycling since the 90’s… I like hearing your views..got new respect 😄
Thanks Luke!
It would appear the the laceups are probably directed towards a market segment more interested in a certain “ street” look, ie more fashion conscious.
Thanks for sharing your thoughts 👍🏾

I remember those limited edition Merckx👍🏾

Whoa 90's cycling luis looks Anthony Mackie! Another great review vid!
Yeah, 30 years and 20 pounds ago🤣
OMG! I had the old version! The pink was crazy at that time. You had to be very confident in your manhood wearing them out in public. Lol
Even splashes of pink were dubious in those days😂
@@thegoodwheel lol..yes indeed!
Weren’t they Giro pink - I have a pair for my 1984 Colnago Mexico Record with Campignolo components from same period with the pedal cage cleats.
Lol...I fondly remember falling over the first time I used cleats and forgot to loosen the straps. Some guy walking a dog stopped to free me! That's a great ride..

Wa gwan Mark
Yeah, catching them on sale is the key👍🏾
Great video... What about crankbrother eggbeater pedals? Have you seen people using it? I use and I love it... Idea for next video. Compare "road shoes" with "gravel shoes" in a road cycling....
Great idea Gianpaolo👍🏾

They definitely feel more suited to indoor cycling.
Let's get you back on the bike👍🏾
Never knew Adidas made cycling shoes! Comfort is key. For me, if they feel cushy like a running shoe, then i'm sold. I'm in NJ, so a winter shoe would be nice too. Bro- you look no different now, since the 90's, good for you!
Thank you! I certainly fell different😂
Thank you for the education. Merry Christmas
Merry Christmas Frank!
Informative. You're feet don't seem to fall asleep in them... Or is that a problem you've defeated overall in general?

Agreed! Very important to get this right👍🏾
I have a wide foot most shoes are tight, are these wide?

It is actually remarkably true to size. Merry Christmas
over 30 years experience for me, Sidi has by far been the best- small caveat though: I only wear MTB shoes for practical reasons
👍🏾
I watch your channel from Japan for studying English.
love the mavic cosmic
They are a great shoe👍🏾
Cool Video! I am looking for shoes which fit an my wide feet. Could the adidas fit?
Merry Christmas my friend
Very Mery Christmas to you as well 👍🏾
Great review.
Amazon has a slightly lower price for both shoes.
Nice! Thanks for sharing 👍🏾
I just got my second pair of adidas velosamba
Nice!
Fizik all the way for me!
👍🏾

Adidas road shoes offering don’t even have stiff carbon soles. Which doesn’t make it a serious bike shoe.
For extended bike tours the velo samba works for me.
👍🏾
I have a pair that I’m very happy with and they were cheap.
Thanks for sharing Phil👍🏾
How ‘bout the gravel shoes. I own 3 pairs and love them. Comfortable as fk, breathable, sexy boot (hugs my feet), light for what it does, firm sole and best walking shoe ever.
I will definitely be trying those. Thanks for sharing your experience 👍🏾
I got one, sold it after just 1 ride. The sole is too soft for my liking.
Thanks for watching and sharing your experience.👍🏾
Mmm, so they look quite low-end. Not even carbon soles and they thought they were gonna sell them for $250.. no..
Great review except it's pronounced "AH-dee-dahs
👍🏾
Do they come in shell toe????😂😂😂
I own one, they flex too much on the climb.
