    Speaking of Legion, Jeff, I just finished watching your interview on _Chris Miller Cycling_ posted over this past weekend. It was a great discussion but I found it exceptionally interesting to hear your viewpoints on Legion’s racing strategy and - for lack of a better word for it - style, when it comes to team racing dynamics. It’s something that rarely gets put out there for analysis on mainstream media, but it should be heard and seen. Your insight holds significant weight, IMO, and I certainly hope to see Chris and Jesse having you on more often.

    Ryan is a stud!! Not only is he very powerful and possess great bike handling skills, he's also a very smart racer the way he followed the L39ION riders at the start, didn't panic when L39ION started their game playing in the break & bridged to the lapped rider group and then rode behind his team knowing he would need his strength for the sprint....PLEASE, PLEASE don't race for L39ION if they make you an offer, you're too good for them.

    What's not shown in the video is the late-race attack by two riders. I assumed they were from the breakaway that lapped the field (thus going for the 1st and 2nd place) and was surprised the Mike's Bikes team did not make an effort to bring them back. I guess they were not part of the breakaway and were going after 5th and 6th place then? It's cool that the team kept their cool and recognized they were not a threat.

    • @arch417powersports

    • @aaronmcdevitt1166
      @aaronmcdevitt1166 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      @@arch417powersports most racers in these have normal jobs and make no money from racing. An average P/1/2 race is 99% cat 1 and cat 2, and even the pros don't generally make much from racing. It's an expensive sport - not just the bikes, but eating 3500 calories per day, driving hundreds of miles to race every weekend, etc. I probably spent $10k per year on racing (cat 2), not counting buying a bike (which I got second hand for like 2 grand).

    • @slowcyclist4324
      @slowcyclist4324 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Why would anyone make racing their day job? You’re basically praying to be good enough to one day own the bike you are forced to ride, over just getting a day job and being able to just buy whatever bike(s) that you want to ride.

    Hi...I am new to the cycling world. I would have loved to come and watch the race, but knew absolutely nothing about it. How do I find out about races like this BEFORE they actually happen, and not after? Another thing is, I know that advertising is expensive, but isn't that what the sponsors are for? I have never seen one advertisement for crit racing anywhere. How can the sport become more noticed and grow when no one knows about it? The funny thing is that I never see any advertising for the TDF or any other pro races on television, but perhaps it is just me......

    Super star, really? With all do respect some of you domestic racers take things a little too serious. Crit racing is unique to the US, wonder how these American "pros" would do in Europe? • @cjohnson3836

      Probably about as well as when you lot come to the US to pretend you can play basketball. Sports are about money because money means development. And cycling is one of the most expensive and pompously elitist sports of all. Even World Tour teams are on a hierarchy for this very reason. Put budget caps in place with profit sharing as in other sports and then see the result 20-30 years down the line. But we know that won't happen because Euros would lose their advantage.
