Partner S65 an eternal machine. Mine is 40 years old and continues to work as it did on the first day. It is my main chainsaw for cutting all types of wood.
My Saw is exact same and I love it, then Stihl. Hands down best I ever used. Had to repalce fuel lines, and added 20" Bar and Chain, now I need piston.
After we all started buying partners we would have used those old pioneer's and mcculloch's for boat anchors but we didn't want to be reminded of how many times a week we had to rebuild the G..D... things in a week....especially when we were trying to relax....fishing.

Awesome nice to see a partner in the channel. The s series is a semi pro saw the p series are pro some of the partner p series are interchangeable with the s series. If it is like my s55 the intake timing is low compared to what you seem to port mine was about 136degrees of duration. And to get by the carb governor I did the trick that bayou country channel has a video of using a piece of a pop can.thanks for all the great videos tinman
I had a Partner P70 that I completely wore out. I loved that saw! I wish I still had it because it would be in your hands right away. Your channel is great, thanks for the videos and keep on porting!😀
I logged in the 70's with those partner saws...that S65....the S is semipro 65 is the newer version of the R16....made 1967 -mid 70's. Will this thing run? Jesus we used Mcculloch's, Homelite's and Pioneers in the woods...when we stated buying partners in place of those Mcculloch's, pioneers etc it was like going from DONKEY CARTS to Lamborghini's....that "thing" was LIGHT YEARS ahead of anything else at the time....and I do mean LIGHT YEARS.
My first chainsaw S55 bought in 1980. These saws have a speed limiter and are located on the back of the throttle if removed it will exceed 8000 rpm. Greetings from GREECE.
I love the partner s65... what a neat...weird shaped saw... Yes... that muffler looks absolutely horrible at actually venting the engine... that one definitely needs some assistance to run as strong as it can...I definitely like the long stroke saw’s!
Nice old chainsaws, I don't see many Partners around my area. But when I was little my grandfather had a couple of Pioneers as his "Just-In-Case" saws for cutting the bigger trees. There's still a Pioneer Farm Saw down on his shelf in his basement. His main fleet of everyday use saws were mostly Homelite's back when they weren't cheap garbage. Anything of his that's more recent within a few years is mostly Husky. I don't have many saws myself. But from the few I do have the more interesting saws are my Homelite 290 and a Poulan 2400 Wood Master. My friend has an old Homelite C5 which we have yet to tinker with. It needs the carb rebuilt and part of the recoil fixed.
Must be a partner thing. My 550 does the same thing, seams really lean when cold and stumbles when you stab the throttle. But as soon as you get past that it runs beautifully and heaps of grunt. I took out the spark screen and opened the fins on the exhaust with a screwdriver. Sounds so much better than any saw I've heard. You'll have fun with it for sure
All the 5 Partner 5000+ I have had does the same f ing thing. So annoying. No matter how much I repalce the problem is there.. Anyways love the power of the old Partner.
That partner is nice buddy! I had an S70 a few yrs ago it ripped but I threw it out🤦♂️ now I have an S55 needed seals replaced so I put a flywheel puller on it and split the crank at the threads🤦♂️
Those are cool saws especially the P41! I wonder how much more power the ported echo cs 590 has now. I would love to see it cut wood because I was thinking of building one.
I had one one of them sitting in the she for many years a few days ago I decided to start it of of course I checked the carburettor ---Tillotson 189 A ?IF I red it correctly ?--- the gaskets sems to be Ok ....Replaced the carb. but doesn't start ...took it of again cleaned and put back after a few Trys it started but then the dream was over ....it become so hard to pull I hurt my arm . Given a quick look somewhere there is al fuel lick in the carburettor it seems that the fuel comes straight from the tank in and there is no control to stop it I presume the needle is not working or the membrane or else ? Could you give me some hints please can you also inform me if the Carburettor model and number is like yours .

Nice saw !! I got a Pioneer P41SH 80's saw , but there is no bar and chain, Where can you get a bar and chain for old saws like that ?
