It’s crazy how I usually will stick to cheering for the underdogs, but Leo has something about him that I just want him to win every set I watch of his.
Considering the amount of cheese that comes with Kazuya, Leo is the underdog in this match

@@oscar5012 he always does. Clearly played better this time tho. Tens of thousands abuse it and it's like 6 pro Kazuya and 3 top at max. With 4/5 that can win.

For me, it’s not about that leo being the best smasher, it is actually about the creativity and the outstanding gameplay he delivers in all his sets. Whether he wins or loses, I don’t really care. I just enjoy watching him, that’s it.
Nobody talks about this enough but Leo is a gentleman he’s always gracious with people win or lose end of the game.
He's noticeably aggrevated when he loses. you should be laughing or smiling when you lose.
@@ChrisWithoutAnHI'd like you to find me a player that takes losing that way in a professional environment. People hate losing, and especially with such high stakes. I drop games and have trouble not crying (maybe extreme but ey).

You can also see his byleth still in the way he plays joker, as the byleth help him master spacing even more. Because of that, his joker is much more scary as he just has the pefect spacing and all.
@@Quinnsula5 Imo it's probably that he's playing more marth now cause tbh his byleth didn't feel that heavy based or it could be that he got better at movement so he can space better.
@@nicholas930 what you mean he still plays byleth and won the last tournament where she focused on playing him, his byleth is so good and he will still play it depending on the match up.

This is huge redemption from the Crew battle when Leo versed Teo’s Kazuya (even tho it was 1-3 stock)

I’m the biggest fanboy of Tea’s Pacman but also believe MKLeo is truly the best smash player so watching these 2 duke it out is always an orgasmic experience lol
And you can always tell how much it means to Tea/how much Leo recognizes his skill by popping off or reacting way more than normal

Is strange. But when Leo uses Joker, it's like the players start, at a certain point, to get frustrated and force their defeat. For example, Tea, started throwing random moves at the end of the last set, and in the first set, when he was losing, he didn't hit a bair which he survived. I have seen these same attitudes in Mars... or at least it is my impression
Leo joker truly strikes fear in his opponents’ hearts 😅
Also joker can be hard to hit at times with his mobility and hurtbox shifting. Not to mention leo’s slingshots and gun tech
People don't give Tea enough credit. His movement with Kazuya is insane.

why do people act like kazuya recovery like its that bad. People talk about it like its the weakness that really balances him out but it is not that bad.
It's a serviceable recovery. Which is more than enough for a character like him.
yeah, people think you just gotta get him offstage but he’s got decent horizontal drift and great vertical height

Tea played very poorly in game 5, missed an important electric at 15:28 that could have lead to a 0 to death and looks like he got tilted and started throwing them out after. Still, the rest of the set he played great and Leo is an absolute god for winning this matchup against the best Kazuya, it's such a pleasure to watch his Joker and I'm so happy it's back

When you land ewgf on game 4 Leo, you're still in disadvantage... Check out 10:09 and 16:31, Tea getting baited with the same DI mixup twice in the exact same situation. Great games for both players!
Yeah people like to rag on Kazuya and though I will say his kit separates him way too much from the other characters (Like Little Mac in the sense that you may be forced to use a character or playstyle you don't like) the fact that he can get punished for overrelying on EWGF shows that Kazuya has far more weaknesses than people give him credit for. He's like Melee Fox in the sense that people said his moveset theoretically outperforms every character when played to perfection, but said perfection is impossible to achieve because of player variables and thus people came to the conclusion that Fox was not as invincible as they forsaw. A lesson only learned from the best in MKLeo!

Tea was godlike before Kazuya and he doesn't have a mental breakdown all the time.
Oh don’t worry, I don’t “hate”anyone who plays Kazuya though I can’t really give any props to anyone who does. Though Tea was making waves before Kazuya so he at least has that going for him.
If you're referring to Riddles i doubt he gets much hate playing Kazuya people love him, other Kazuya players maybe

@@Michaelrice4199 Despite whatever learning curve and the character has, Kazuya still possesses some VERY unfair tools and is very polarizing, forcing the opponent to play very defensively against him. As opposed to most other characters where you have the freedom to play offensively and/or defensively against them.

I think Leo will continue to beat Tea as Ultimate goes on. The games are close but at the end of the day his characters do well versus his. Joker for Kazuya is such a weight off the back.

Joker doesnt beat kazuya easily? The match may be even or slight kazuya. Leo has to play perfect spacing to avoid getting hit. Almost everyone agrees it’s not a good match for joker

Looking back on this set, if Tea had won that, he might have won the entire tournament. His next two opponents would have been Sonix and Muteace, both of which are more than doable for his Pacman. The question is: would Light have made it to grand finals in this alternate timeline? Because if yes, he would have had a very good shot at double eliminating Tea.
And on the losers side, Acola probably would have beaten Mkleo and then lost to Sparg0.
Tea my favorite Japanese player. Sad to see him miss top 8 but this tourney is stacked!
