It’s crazy how I usually will stick to cheering for the underdogs, but Leo has something about him that I just want him to win every set I watch of his.
For me, it’s not about that leo being the best smasher, it is actually about the creativity and the outstanding gameplay he delivers in all his sets. Whether he wins or loses, I don’t really care. I just enjoy watching him, that’s it.

You can also see his byleth still in the way he plays joker, as the byleth help him master spacing even more. Because of that, his joker is much more scary as he just has the pefect spacing and all.

I’m the biggest fanboy of Tea’s Pacman but also believe MKLeo is truly the best smash player so watching these 2 duke it out is always an orgasmic experience lol And you can always tell how much it means to Tea/how much Leo recognizes his skill by popping off or reacting way more than normal
Is strange. But when Leo uses Joker, it's like the players start, at a certain point, to get frustrated and force their defeat. For example, Tea, started throwing random moves at the end of the last set, and in the first set, when he was losing, he didn't hit a bair which he survived. I have seen these same attitudes in Mars... or at least it is my impression
Leo joker truly strikes fear in his opponents’ hearts 😅 Also joker can be hard to hit at times with his mobility and hurtbox shifting. Not to mention leo’s slingshots and gun tech
Tea played very poorly in game 5, missed an important electric at 15:28 that could have lead to a 0 to death and looks like he got tilted and started throwing them out after. Still, the rest of the set he played great and Leo is an absolute god for winning this matchup against the best Kazuya, it's such a pleasure to watch his Joker and I'm so happy it's back
why do people act like kazuya recovery like its that bad. People talk about it like its the weakness that really balances him out but it is not that bad.
yeah, people think you just gotta get him offstage but he’s got decent horizontal drift and great vertical height EDIT: also the up b hitbox is super annoying and will kill you early
When you land ewgf on game 4 Leo, you're still in disadvantage... Check out 10:09 and 16:31, Tea getting baited with the same DI mixup twice in the exact same situation. Great games for both players!
Yeah people like to rag on Kazuya and though I will say his kit separates him way too much from the other characters (Like Little Mac in the sense that you may be forced to use a character or playstyle you don't like) the fact that he can get punished for overrelying on EWGF shows that Kazuya has far more weaknesses than people give him credit for. He's like Melee Fox in the sense that people said his moveset theoretically outperforms every character when played to perfection, but said perfection is impossible to achieve because of player variables and thus people came to the conclusion that Fox was not as invincible as they forsaw. A lesson only learned from the best in MKLeo!
I think Leo will continue to beat Tea as Ultimate goes on. The games are close but at the end of the day his characters do well versus his. Joker for Kazuya is such a weight off the back. Excellent set.

Joker doesnt beat kazuya easily? The match may be even or slight kazuya. Leo has to play perfect spacing to avoid getting hit. Almost everyone agrees it’s not a good match for joker

As opposed to most other characters where you have the freedom to play offensively and/or defensively against them.

It'd funny seeing him play so well and still go to game 5, like when he played byleth at the Ludwigs invitational he destroyed all his foes so much more and all, but joker is that type of character that I feel like when even way Leo plays pefect like this and spaces perfectly there is still a chance he will lose , well byleth well worse of a character is way easier to gimp with and kill early and all as Leo mastered the openings, joker can't really do that against a top player until later when he gets his persona. Still Leo is playing the best he has in awhile, just wanted to point out the byleth thing
@extonjonas6820 no the joker is as optimized as can be but joker is a character that's is deigned to adapt and all well byleth is not really as much, so joker there is not a clear path , well there 100% for byleth
@KakuraZenom joker does not require perfect play fully but require perfect play comeback mechanics when down to win. Joker require more mastery of the character well byleth fundamentals more so

Well The joker probably is not as optimized. Maybe in a few tournaments he will be impossible to challenge with this joker
