Many people don't realize how many places you can implement Kanban. We have a very simple system for our family that helps us make our grocery shopping list as we use items in the pantry and fridge. Once the milk gets below a certain line marked on the carton we immediately put it on the shopping list which is on the side of the fridge. We never have to stress about making a shopping list,
just grab it and go.
It is essential with Kanban to keep the rope tight!

I know the minutiae that is in the breadcrumbs can be a bit over the top at times, but it allows everyone to have the knowledge and you are not reliant on only one team member to have the knowledge, it is there for everyone. I love picking left to right front to back simple but rotates stock every time
Supermarkets use this for refilling fresh produce pull from back to front right to left then put fresh stock back right so you akways get fresh stock rotation.
Paul I would love to see a video on how the external Kanban card is communicated with the suppliers!
julian fernandez Julian there are lots of different ways to do that you could simply email them you could screenshot the Kanban and send them a picture you need to set up a relationship with the vendor that works for both of you.
Crazy good. This proves that most "supply and demand " talk is just price hiking. Most supply shortages are stupidity and poor planning .

Just an idea, the green dot for no forklift and absence of a dot for forklift required is less than obvious. I would make a printed green dot with a hand icon and another coloured dot with a forklift icon or word.
Is very clear using kanbans and have all close, and thinks on the next person is a big help. I have a few questions : you reuse your kanbans, no need to print label for each box you make or when you receive new product from other sources every day.
This is amazing. I am a newbie to the LEAN manufacturing world. Can you share how you made your light senoring system this is brilliant. It has been while since I have used excel, I really love your tracking system keeping tabs on all the improvements per individuals. I would appreciate some help on how to create this formula in excel, anything would greatly be appreciated. I'm so blessed I have stumbled upon your channel. Keep rockin it and being that beacon of light.

instantsiv I think we went over that in the video it's called an anomaly card whenever somebody orders something that will overwhelm the system we give everybody a heads up so we can work on it and maintain flow throughout the day.

Great Video. Have you considered using the scanner to build the Pull list in the Waterspider laptop without the waste of transportation of the Kanban card?
I don't know that I completely understand your question, but let me make this point because it's extremely important. We do not want to ever eliminate the physical Kanban card. It is critical to how the whole system works. It's counterintuitive to people who are predisposed to spreadsheets and computers that hide the information. Paul
@@FastCapLLC I concur - never eliminate the Kanban. What I was suggesting is that with your existing technology and the handheld scanners, wouldn't it be possible to scan the Kanban at the location of the depleted inventory and digitally send a pick-list to the Waterspider's laptop (thereby eliminate the need to transport the physical card to various locations in the warehouse eliminating additional waste)? Just a thought :) Love your work Paul! You're an inspiration to us all!
is your whole inventory system run on an excel spreadsheet or do you have a specific software program that manages it?
Mike L Business works but the main system is managed by the Kanbans

Simon Harte Water spiders job is to supply everyone in the company with the essential elements they need to do their job so there is flow in the manufacturing plant. No one should ever have to stop and go get anything the water spider goes from work cell to work cell making sure everyone is provided the necessary resources to do their job smoothly. They are picking up full bins and delivering empty bins to be filled. They are picking up Kanban cards and delivering them to the appropriate work cells to be processed they are a very critical and important role in any lean organization

Awesome work, what kind of process do yo have for order fulfilment i.e something ordered on the website how does that work it's way through you facility to customer receiving.
Vinyl Addition sign and graphics As soon as something comes in from an vender it is matched up with the kanban in the office and delivered to the appropriate department.
