15-year-old Arpith S Bijoy (2110) decided to decline a threefold repetition against GM Vaibhav Suri (2543) as he had a better position in Round 5 of 2nd Rotachess Rapid Rating Open 2024. Irrespective of the outcome, the decision to play shows that the teenager wants to maximize his opportunity of playing a Grandmaster.
