Not really strategic mastery. Slightly worse in the midgame, losing in the endgame, and then wins off of forcing blunders against a low time opponent. Classic Magnus with his rock solid endgame.
This one seemed to be a lesson in King safety. Entering an endgame three pawns down (including 2 white passers!), King safety afforded Magnus the tempi to harass the white King and pick off pawns in the process, incredibly liquidating the two passers and going up by one pawn with the initiative.
Magnus' idea was to sack the a7 pawn, which at least allows him to regain control of the open file with Rd8. This would also come with tempo as white king has back-rank mate issues. Then after white reponds with a move like g3, black has some counterplay with Rd2 and a fork on f2 and b2. But Artemiev saw all of this, and just played g3 first, with the followup idea of meeting Rd8 with Qc3 where both of magnus' pieces would be hanging and he loses. At that point, magnus realised his mistake and tried to bail out with Qf3, seeking a perpetual check.
knight was used to protect bishop on b4. they traded a knight and bishop each. if he used pawn, that bishop would have been taken and he'd be worse off only claiming a knight.
Title: Strategic Mastery Reality: Outplayed until he was able to tactically overwhelm Artemiev when they were on low time. You don't need to pump up Magnus with clickbait titles -- he's already the strongest player ever. Its insulting to Artemiev who played far better than your title implies.
Strategic mastery? Not in this game, and you know it . Carlsen's own commentary gives the lie to your wild claim. I hope it was worth trying to fool us for the pittance TH-cam will pay for such small viewing figures.
@6:28 if he would've put Queen F5 he would attack the Rook and the 1 file, Rook takes pawn, Queen B1 Check, white is forced to block with Queen, Black Queen takes with Checkmate
I hate watching his chess.... But I do watch it... I'm an idiot. Thing is - the only thought I have in my head is "why TF I'm not as quick and smart as this idiot?" Oh well.
clickbait There's no strategic mastery. Equal play, then Magnus blundered a bit and lost advantage, and then opponent got short on time and made mistakes.

Magnus: I'm just hoping for tricks at this point.
Very funny observation
😂
While giving a breakdown and making a video...
"this is probably a lost cause" ........ "Wow".
lmao i was like bruh tricks ahhaha, but he really did lose, he just did what i do and waste their time.
I love how every time magnus plays someone he has to explain his lore like he's a dark souls character

what’s funny is i just came from playing elden ring and watching videos on it 😀

It's funny how he took those 4 pawns at the end with the Queen

Magnus: “I don’t know why he’s.. thinking..”

That one was the best!
SO HE DOES THINKING ONE AT A TIME! I thought with his playing style, Magnus can see the future 😵💫

lmao "photogenic"
"Photographic memory" is the phrase. Photogenic means "looks great on camera".
@2:40 casually thinks about 8 moves ahead and draws it out in about 1 second 😂 for what would take us all at least 30 seconds-4min if even
and then all the moves are played as he expected
Yes. I would do the calculation then after the moves I would dicover I was a complete rook down

Magnus is just so strong when time is of the essence - he is just fractions quicker
Anytime you have Magnus in a corner, he finds a way to make you feel the pressure as well 😂

Not one of the GOATS but it was amazing that had a good 15 year NBA career being 5'3"

Losing, but with a better position
@Godkiller123-q1s f off with your irrelevant comment
Since when does mastery mean perfection? And being up on time against your opponent is part of the strategy.
This is why staying solid in low time matters. Keep your cool.

Can some please explain the move of black queen from E5 to F6, doesn’t it allow for the white to capture pond on A7?

If the strategic mastery has to do with getting his opponent in time trouble, then ok.
I love how he draws arrows until it looks like a blob knowing full well simpleton like me have no idea how to follow this!
Lol i saw that his arrows would end up in him saving a knight protecting his undefended bishop at that point
why is there time added the end ?
@ 07:50 in the game the clock reads 5 sec. left , then it just increases ?
It was doing that all game. It's a 3|2, which means they start with 3 minutes and gain 2 seconds every move.
why didn't you go bh3 when queen was d5
