I helped Dave scout some of this route a few years back. I’m the guy who coined the term “Davement” for when you think it’s a road, but it’s a swamp!
Awesome, what a perfect name you came up with! Thanks for helping Dave scout some of the route. It's a beautiful area to ride bikes, well except for maybe the "Davement" sections, LOL.
Dang😊. My old stomping grounds. I'm 74 now living in
Lower Michigan. I grew up in
The Hurley/ Ironwood area. The
Video really took me back. I
Spent summer with my grandparents in Montreal. I've
Swam in the Gile flowage and
Montreal river more times than
I can remy. The falls are only a
Couple of hundred feet off the
Main Street of Gile. Great memories. Thank you so much.😊😊
It's awesome watching our video helped bring back some of your fond memories. Really appreciate you talking about them and makes us really happy. This area of the USA is beautiful!
Welcome to Wisconsin!❤🎉
I love you little films, well done, always.
Thanks, much appreciated!
Thank you... add this to my bucket list
Our pleasure!
I've watched quite a few videos of you and your wife and you 2 are amazing. Your videos keep getting better and better. The part where she was calling you a Candy had me rolling. I wouldn't have made it up that either.
I've got a few routes on my radar for the summer, and this is one of them. I've been taking notes while watching this so I can hopefully trim out some of the "Davement" and trim a day or 2 out of this route so I can do a modified route in 6 days or less.
Just an FYI - I am from Michigan. I spent a lot of summers swimming in Lake Michigan, even when the water temps were in the 50's. Even I won't swim in Lake Superior. It has to be in your blood. A lot of that area was inhabited by people who emigrated from Finland. Makes sense, the climate is similar to their homeland. I can remember being up that way in the summer and the locals were talking about how hot it was that day. It was in the low 80's.
Thanks for the nice comment, much appreciated. If you need any help trimming the route let me know. Email me at pedalpoweradventures@gmail.com. Give that steep hill a go, will be fun to hear what you think of it. It's got crazy good traction.
Fantastic route, awesome adventure, and one I've added to my list! Thanks for taking us along! Cheers!
Thanks, it's a fun one!
Great video!!!
Glad you liked it!
Glory to the Creator of the Wisconsin Falls!
Great camera work, thank you!
I second that, Dave is an awesome guy! Glad you enjoyed watching.
Awesome bike tour. Great times! I'm heading to my bike tour next week here in Florida. 👍
Hey Thomas, sorry for my slow response. Hope you had another awesome tour in Florida. Florida has so many good options for bike touring nowadays.
@@PedalPowerAdventures yes I just got back from Kissimmee Prairie bike trip. It was awesome 😎
Ah yes, the Kissimmee Prairie, I remember that section on the Florida Divide very well! Very cool area.
This was a great visual ride along. love the music reminds me of Baywatch vs Melrose place
What a combo Baywatch and Melrose Place, LOL.
Another solid bike packing route. I really enjoy the waterfalls. This is really awesome to see history and small towns come together to create a fun journey. I hope to get out here and ride this route , next year.
Thanks, much appreciated! Let us know how it goes when you ride it next year.
@@PedalPowerAdventures I will certainly do that and I appreciate your support.
so envy
Thanks for documenting this! I rode this back in August it was nice to see it again
Your welcome, glad we could bring you back on memory lane, so to speak.
Looks like a great route, would love to ride it. Thank you.
Great video once again, thank you for sharing your adventures!
Thanks, much appreciated!
Гарне відео і особливо подобається підбір музики!
Looked like a lot of fun. Keep it up!
Thanks! Will do!
Thank you so much for this video! I’m going to look seriously at doing this next Fall. Great information!
Thank you, glad it was helpful. Hope you can make it out there next year and let us know how it goes.
Looks fun
Being a cyclist living in Wisconsin, I cannot wait to try tis route!
It's a really good one and even better it's close to you. You are gonna love it!
Thanks for another great video. I'm lucky enough to live in far northern Wisconsin and ride many of these same roads on a regular basis. It's a great area for bikepacking. In fact I just did an overnight bikepacking trip to Herbster last week. I look forward to your next adventure.
We were totally impressed with Northern Wisconsin. Michele grew up just north of Milwaukee but has never been up in this area. Beautiful area where you live and Herbster, what a great place to camp for the night! Happy trails.
Awesome 👍
Thank you! Cheers!
Enjoyed the video. Nice job!
Thanks, much appreciated!
I must have picked hundreds of ticks on my socks in Black River Falls, Wisconsin
Ticks are no fun! Good thing they are not active all year up there.
@@PedalPowerAdventures They schedule their active time when I'm there riding.
C'mon ya candy! 😂 Another great one guys. See you on Friday in Steinhatchee!
Haha, thanks! We are taking the Singletrack Samurai shuttle service to Steinhatchee, maybe we will see ya on that. Either way, looking forward to hanging out with you and Bill.
We'll see you at the shuttle pickup! :D

What do use for GPS and do you take along a tablet or computer to upload your dailies? I’m new to bikepacking. Only done short trips. But an avid outdoors person so want to be well equipped.
I have a Garmin 1040 solar for GPS navigation, my wife uses the Garmin 530. The Garmin 830 or 840 is the sweet spot between price and functionality (I prefer having a touch screen). We don't have space for a tablet or computer and just use our phones. Phones can work for GPS navigation but don't work as good and are way more power hungry compared to a Garmin, just our opinion of course. Good luck and have fun, bikepacking is an amazing way to see the world!
