let me tell you my tricks people:
    1.- Wash hands
    2.- Dry hands with paper.
3.- Use the same paper to close the water and open the door.
4.- Hold the door with your foot and throw the paper in the trash (usually the trash is near the exit)
    Done, your hands are clean!

People can't be bothered to wash hands for one quick pee but they know others will look at them wierdly if they don't wash. So out of need for validation and ego, humans will pretend to wash just so the potential random person in the bathroom thinks you're cool guy, even though you know you will never come in contact with said person.

How would you like having a seizure....just because you used the soap in a public restroom? I agree it's disgusting ... but companies need to quit adding fragrance and triclosan and other ingredients ... it's not necessary, and be downright dangerous to some.

I can tell you as a maid and an ex fast food worker the filthiest part of any store is always the sink, faucet, and by far the hand dryers. They were far filthier than the toilets ever were (save those few rare occurrences when someone shits/vomits/pisses everywhere), and often when I would wipe them with my white towel it would come back green, yellow, brown, and black every. single. time.

In order to "wash" the bacteria off your hands it requires rigorous scrubbing for 30 seconds minimum. Then the hot air dryer spews bacteria back onto your hands and you then touch objects while exiting the bathroom to even further the bacteria counts.

The following is a rough transcript of the video.
*Narrator* : There are over 12 million hand dryers in the U.S. alone. So, can they really be a hygiene horror show? Well, the theory to this myth is two-fold. First, dryers supposedly purge fewer pathogens than their paper counterparts. And second, they can also fan a fog of micro-miasma that's a contamination catastrophe. But, will this myth be hot air?
    00:34
*Jamie* : This story doesn't make any sense to me.
    *Adam* : How so?
*Jamie* : Well, if you are drying your hands, that implies that you've washed them.
    *Adam* : Absolutely
*Jamie* : And if you've washed your hands, you've removed all the bacteria. So, whether a drying method is cleaner than another is irrelevant.
*Adam* : Right, I see your point, but only some people use the full soap and water for washing their hands. Some people, they just get their hands wet before drying them off. Why don't we test both of those and see which is the proper worst case scenario for testing hand towel versus dryer?
    *Jamie* : Okay. That works.
    1:04
*Adam* : So, how do people wash their hands? Well, to my way of thinking, there are three things people do in a restroom regarding washing their hands.
The first is...[Adam opens the faucet then swings his hands around the top of the sink]...they pretend to wash their hands.
The second thing people do is get their hands wet... [Adam rubs his hands together under a stream of water]...but use no soap.
[Adam is pushing the handle for the soap and catching the falling liquid soap into his hand] The third thing people do, and I think we all know you should do, is wash their hands with soap.
    1:30
*Adam* : So, first things first, Jamie and I are going to wash our hands using each of those techniques and compare the bacterial growths to see if Jamie is, in fact, right. Does washing your hands in soap and water leave them completely clean?
*Narrator* : And first to go is Adam, who after each cleaning custom, hands over to the Hyneman.
*Jamie* : I'm swabbing Adam's hands with a soy based growth medium, so if there's any bacteria on his hands, I'm gonna find it.
*Narrator* : Once Jamie is also swabbed, for science, it's time for some germ germination.
    2:03
*Jamie* : Okay, Adam first... The process is pretty simple. We've collected our samples; we spread them evenly across soy agar in a petri dish, and we put them in an incubator. We're going to let them sit there overnight; we'll come in the morning and see what we've got.
    2:23
*Narrator* : And, sure enough, 24 hours later.
*Jamie* : Let's see what kind of surprise we have.
*Adam* : [Laughs] Alright, well, the soap wash.
*Jamie* : Notta [from "not a thing"]
    *Adam* : Freaking nothing.
*Narrator* : Yep, the soap plate's correct, which cannot be said of the water wash.
*Adam* : How come your bacteria are bigger than mine?
*Jamie* : Sometimes, that's just the way it works.
*Narrator* : And as for the no wash.
    *Adam* : Whoa! Gross!

There’s one thing I think they missed discussing. In regular public restrooms, you also have the “toilet spray” which is all over in the bathroom spraying germs everywhere. The air intake on the dryer pulls in the germs floating around the restroom and blows them all over your otherwise clean hands.

As a hand washer myself I *really* wanted this test to be conclusive evidence to those who *don't wash* to need to start washing.
Unfortunately there's a flaw in the testing method. To have conclusive evidence that not washing after using is bad they should have had to wash their hands first then use the bathroom then get swabbed.
Bacteria and whatever from everyday use may have collected on their hands even before they used the bathroom for the no-wash test.

    • @BakedRoll

Isn't that more of a reason to wash your hands? Even if they didn't use the bathroom, they'd still have all kinds of microorganisms on them.
Also if you don't even wash your hands properly after using the bathroom, chances are you don't really ever wash your hands. So not only are you collecting bacteria and viral particles all throughout the day, but you're also running the risk of getting infected with something nasty after using the bathroom!

So they jokingly said don't get a hand job from an English girl and that's disgusting. But I can't believe how many of them didn't wash their hands. A lot of the guys said they only wash their hands if they shit but apparently the females there don't wash their hands at all. I see washing my hands as just a normal part of using the bathroom, I don't know how people skip that step. I would feel so dirty if I didn't wash my hands. But again, if you're not going to do it for yourself, to keep yourself clean, then at least do it for everyone around you cuz all the germs and bacteria that you're spreading is absolutely disgusting and can very easily get other people sick.

Touching the faucet handle makes your hand dirty again. Touching the door knob makes your hand dirty again. Drying your hands under an air blower makes your hands dirty again because it's getting its air supply from the restroom. That's why paper towels are better. You can use them to turn off the water and open the door.

I mean you should always wash your hands and I can't believe that some people actually have to be told but I hope seeing this will make them change their minds and wash their freaking hands. Only a hand dryer with a fresh air intake from outside the bathroom would be even remotely as good as a clean papertowel, but with no papertowel, you have to use your shirt to open inward swinging doors. Internal intakes just recirculate bathroom poop air onto your hands. Bathrooms with papertowels and push to exit doors (or no doors with the maze entery) are the BEST!

Under UV in a pitch-black dark room the whirlpool of diminutive particles of mist that rises from a toilet at the moment of flushing is visible. And if the air extractor is running at the moment, the whirlpool goes even higher. All those mist particles containing feces, urine and else settle down on surfaces --including your own body, eyes, lungs, hair, hands, etc., and on your cloth and towels, on toothbrushes, combs and other cosmetology implements in the bathroom (some people cover their towels in the bathroom with a proper-size plastic sheet)-- in not less than ten seconds. Stop the air extractor at the moment of flushing, and always put down the lid. This will REDUCE considerably the mist dispersion although it will NOT eliminate it entirely. If possible, still with the air extractor off, spray some disinfectant on the toilet seat and the interior face of the lid after flushing (alcohol will do, with the advantage it evaporates, so that you don't have to wipe it out). It is recommendable to carry a small can of Lysol or any other household disinfectant for sometimes one has to go # 2 in public toilets (when flying you can use a plastic spray bottle of the size, and with a disinfectant, approved by the TSA). Many skin and other illnesses are transmitted via toilet seats, toilet tank handles, faucet levers, and door handles; ALWAYS spray them before touching them.

    • @TC-ku4vv
      @TC-ku4vv ปีที่แล้ว

You practically have to soak the items, they must stay wet for five minutes minimum for the disinfectant to be effective. 3 min for bleach water which only lasts 24 hours. Disinfectants are often misused in a household context. A toilet paper barrier might work better if the toilet roll is covered.

Well, do they only touch the phone until they wipe, or do they wipe and then play with the phone a while longer without washing their hands? If they only use it before wiping, the phone shouldn't have much fecal germs. Sure there might be fecal matter in the air of a bathroom and it might get caught on the phone, but the same happens to your toothbrush if it's close to the toilet.
Then on the other hand phones are seldom cleaned, so they might have bacteria on them regardless whether you use it in the bathroom.
