As a Kaeya main I would say, that his story is VERY important. His past makes the present Kaeya and I think it's important to know this kind of stuff to act properly. And I wonder why they don't tell them all about their characters? It would be easier for them to play and also it would be beneficial to the quality and sincerity of the performance
I know the answer about this from other Yt video why voice actor doesn't need to know the whole lore to voice a character: First, VA usually busy and voice a lot of other characters, meaning they probably didn't have time to know the whole lore or they could just forgets it because they have to move on and voice other characters. Second, they don't need to know the lore that deep in order to voice a character, a good voice director will tell the VA things like, "okay say these lines as if you've just lost your brother" or "okay, say these lines as if you've just met an old friends", and if it's incorrect, the Director could do another take to perfect that lines, so it's not the VA that need to know and understand the lore, it's the Director, but it's totally fine and okay for VA to know the lore, there's no harm in that
I think Josey said somewhere there that he isn't familiar with the lore of other characters asides from Kaeya's. So I think he does know his character's story, he's just not familiar with the other characters

I’m so glad that he’s the voice of Kaeya. I can’t imagine it if it were to be someone else. Really hope he gets more parts in future update of Genshin because Kaeya is like the dessert that you never get to eat in a looong time.
Genshin did a fantastic job at casting these voice actors ngl. Usually I don't like Eng dub, like I usually watch anime in Japanese...but for Genshin, I keep on the Eng dub cause IT'S ACTUALLY SO GOOD 😨

I always say kaeya is the guy who knows what you are thinking before you even thought it. i love his sassy charisma. whenever he is cooking up a scheme his attitude always strikes me as that of a cat toying with a mouse before finally going in for the kill and its wonderful.

I always say kaeya is the guy who knows what you are thinking before you even thought it. i love his sassy charisma. whenever he is cooking up a scheme his attitude always strikes me as that of a cat toying with a mouse before finally going in for the kill and its wonderful.
