- Pick some of these up at wordrummers.com. The Lightning Series by Unlock Drums are nice, big, 360 degree triggering electronic cymbals that come in large sizes. In this video I am testing the 14" hi hats, 17" crash, and 20" ride cymbal. Follow Demonic Sweaters on Spotify open.spotify.c....

Get out of my brain Justin! Ha!
I literally just now discovered that the Unlock brand even existed, and here you are!
Only just uploaded 3 hours ago to answer my questions!
Haha!
That's just freakin' awesome!
Thanks soo much for everything you do!
🖖
Im glad you tested these on the ATV module now i know they ll be fine with mine :)
Thnx for the honest review!
I like the looks of those!
I purchased the 17" crash and the hot spot is significantly hotter. They really shouldn't advertise these as 360 triggering because there are spots that are really hot and others that are really weak. I also found the crash difficult to choke. And I wish they would include a rotation stopper with these. For the price I'd have to say the lemons are just as good.
Weird, I had no problem choking it. Also, mine did come with spin stoppers.
BTW, loving the TD-6V! Especially via MIDI into EZDrummer3!!!
Soo much better than the Alesis Trigger I/O!!!
Thanks again!
Oh that's great! I know, the TD-6 is still such a gem! Tons of inputs, good trigger response, and cheap!
@@demonicsweaters To be completely honest? I typically never liked any of the built in kits within the limited number of modules I've had experience with, and I didn't exactly have any intentions whatsoever of using any of the onboard sounds Originally I was just looking for a more practical and settings stable MIDI triggering solution, as my Alesis Trigger I/O UI is rather unintuitive, but I have to admit...
I'm oddly enough quite impressed with the sounds!
Also?
OMG there are freakin soo many of them! Ha!
I could definitely gig with this on it's own no problem, although I'm now eager to experiment with it going into some stereo guitar pedals (modulation/delay/reverb).
I honestly never would o' thought that this nearly 20yr old module could win me over this much upon first impressions!
I got the rest of the weekend off from work, so I plan on doing some nerd-tacular deep diving into the TD-6V manual PDF during that time!
Thanks again soo much Justin for the helpful advise and positive feedback!
Garsh! I really do gotta work on learning how not to write such freakishly loooong comments tho!
It tis the ASPD way I suppose?
¯\_(ツ)_/¯
LMAO!
They look pretty good. And for the price. Really not bad set. I wish they would send you the bass drum pad to try. That's what i am really interested in with this company.
They did! Working on that next week!
@@demonicsweaters Sweeeeeeeet!!!!!!!!! 😎🤙
Enjoyed the video. Would love to hear the noise of the pads playing in the room? Are they loud compared to X etc? And the Velcro clasp? Does that not stay on the stand and you unfasten the Velcro to release the hi-hat? That would seem an easy win for the situation if possible?
What diameter size sound absorption Pads do you recommend for the legs on a Simmons titan 50? Round or square
Would tthe hihat plug and play with Simmons titan 70?
I'm not sure
Thanks for the review! How would you compare them to the Lemon cymbals? Do they feel like the ATV and Ef Note ones? Really considering these along with my ATV xD3 module or getting an Ef Note one with their hi hats
I still love the Lemon stuff, rides and crashes are great. Despite my criticisms of the hi hats, the Unlocks are way better than the Lemon hi hats though since those have a terrible bouncing, flopping problem. The only ATV cymbal I have played are the hi hats, which I like. The Unlock stuff feels less rigid to hit than the Lemons, but it's a minor thing.
@@demonicsweaters thanks for your reply! Do you think it'd be worth upgrading crash and ride? (I use Roland hi hat atm wich is much better than the Lemon). And last question, how's the acoustic noise compared to the Lemon ones? Keep the channel up, great stuff!
Nice upgrades, do the cymbals work with the sd1250 kit?
The ride won’t give you all 3 zones since the Simmons one uses 1 cable and the Lightning uses 2. Everything else should work. Though I’m not 100% sure about the hi hats.
Do you use the ATV aD5 sounds here? Or some drum VST?
The module is the XD3, but yeah it's the internal sounds.
@@demonicsweaters thanks, they're quite convincing.
I wonder if ATV will make a comeback any time soon!
Will these cymbals work with my Alesis strike pro se kit?
Probably, but but be sure I'd ask worldrummers
@@demonicsweaters Thank you for your time and effort 👌
