  • I've plunged into the car restoration deep end by buying the cheapest Manual V8 BMW completely sight unseen, with plans to fully restore it. But there's a catch; I've never actually restored a car before. Doug Demuro might not give this silver turd a second look but once its fully restored it might just make it onto carsandbids.com. Follow along my journey of finding and bringing home one of the rarest manual V8 BMW's ever made, and bringing it back to its former glory.
    Topics covered:
what to look for in a project car
how to find a rare project car
how to buy a car sight unseen
how to ship a car across country
how to inspect a used car

Both my brother and I recently acquired manual 530s as our long-term "keeper" cars. Although I've had an e34 of some type for over 20 years, you've taught me so much. Your series is excellent and is much appreciated. Long live the e34, the last of the glorious analogs.

Thanks Francis! Can’t believe after 20 years you still had more to learn! Much appreciated 🙏

Excited to see someone else go through this process. I've done 2 540i 6 speeds top to bottom. There's a lot to be done in bringing the car like this to the daily status, but it is so so worth it. So worth it.

Great video, looking forward to updates! I'm about to embark on a similar adventure with my E34 this summer. I've had it for 11 years, they are fantastic cars.

That’s great you’ve kept it all those years, hopefully you learn as much as you can from my trials and tribulations although I’m sure you’ve done a lot in that time. Next video should be out in a couple days, thanks!
