      These numbers aren't accurate at all. For instance Finland has around 2200 brown bears, not 1600. Also Russian population can be anything in between 150 000-200 000. In Japan they live in Hokkaido island and population is around 4000-4500 bears. Some claim that closer to 10 000, but it can be error because in main island of Japan lives approximately 10 000 black bears. I also think, that Canada has more than USA, because in the USA brown bears were hunted to extinction in lower 49, or practically to it, only little population around Yellowstone.

      @@kamranismayilzade3789 I don't, but Canada is big country with a lot of forests and people there have found the secret to keep cattle without need to kill all predators from the forests, unlike people of lower 49 in the USA.

      @kamranismayilzade3789 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@FBugle I also wonder how they do that 😅. But most probably the reason is that the population of coastal brown bears is higher than in-land populations by many times, due to the abundance of the food source. Even little isles around Alaska have total brown bear populations almost as big as some states'. I don't think that numbers in this video are accurate either, but I can definitely see how US tops Canada on it.

    • @FBugle

      @@kamranismayilzade3789 Well, only in the USA solution to all is to shoot🤦‍♂️😅 There are other ways too to keep things in reasonable control and find balance. One cow every now and then lost to predators isn't the end of the world or reason to "kill them all".

      It's just completely based on development and population density, and releif ofc, more mountainous area more bear, more mountains that are empty of human interaction more bear, and then ofc preservation plays the role too, so some countries like iran or serbia but with poorer conservation have less bear despite the mountains.
      Like for here, croatia, we have a lot of them for our size of the country, but if i told you that all our bears are on area that is maybe 1/4 of our country that has bear, only in central mountainous part, same with wolves, but our preservation is very good, they are protected for decades, will be a century soon, there are shelters and recovery areas and so on, i just watched some documentary, at least 20 years old about park rangers and foresters in those areas, they knew every bear, they fed them in winter, knew their burrows, even females with cubs came for the apples and corn when they had youngs but was early spring and still snow in the mountains, and they told stories of bears decades old and their predecessors that did that care before them.
      But those bears don't interract with people for the most time, they avoid people as much as possible, but they are cool with rangers because they spent many years among them.

    Sumao's response for several questions on Japan brown bears : Japan is over-polurated country, exept Hokkaidou (northern island). I wrote 12K brown bears in that, because of non-populated (relatively) area, bears can get easily foods, saumons which return back from Okhotsk sea, during late summer ~ autum, just before their hibernation. This cycle gets easy their life on Hokkaidou. Bears immigrated to Hokkaidou during a glacy aera, when Soya channel (separates Hokkaidou from Skhalin, they did'nt come from Kamtchaka, but from Sakhalin) was narrow, maybe 500K years ago. One another way of thinking : many bears because there are no wolves in Hokkaidou, wolf and bear harmonize an ecolojical fauna. Native wolves extinguished Meiji times due to hydrophoby, originated from western dogs.

    According to new study conducted in Slovakia by czech experts analyzing DNA samples, the count of brown bear in Slovakia is anywhere between 1100-1300. Encounters with bears are getting more frequent and people from forest areas are getting more and more concerned.

    This animal causes problems here in Latvia! Until 20-30 years ago, bears did not officially live in Latvia and it was forbidden to hunt them. Sometimes bears came in from Estonia and Russia, but these were very rare cases. Now considering that we have vast uninhabited areas + 60% of the country is covered by thick forests, then these animals have moved to live with us, but there is no law to regulate the population of these animals and there is no hunting season for bears, as a result of which these animals attack beehives of beekeepers.
    If in the past there was an article once a year in the news pages about the fact that somewhere in the territory of Latvia a bear has been seen, now we get written quite regularly about how to behave if you meet this animal in the wild.

    • @dreamthedream8929
      @dreamthedream8929 11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Well it's tough. If you hike and meet one the meeting may not be that friendly. It's scary because most of us cannot properly communicate with a bear unless you are some special animal communicator. Sometimes they attack people if they meet them. Not at all a friendly meeting. And in the middle of the forest there is really no help to be found. As a self defense probably should use bear spray in that situation or go for the bears testicles with kicks and punches. This is the main spot for stronger opponents, usually taught in self defense lessons. When women fight men they also go for testicles, same with bears or other larger and stronger opponents
