You should look up Chobe in Botswana and Hwange in Zimbabwe, divided by border, that's where the concentration is. Elephants everywhere!! They removed border fences to allow free movement of elephants in the region.
In northern part of Botswana they are everywhere. Their movement is not restricted to National parks or Game reserve. You could be walking to school or work in the morning and you will be walking past a herd of elephants

Еще больше удивляет, что их большое количество проживает в Намибии и Ботсване, где климат засушливый с пустынями и полупустынями. Значит там кормовой базы для слонов хватает. Трудно представить, что в старину их было значительно больше и ареал их обитания был значительно больше по площади.
