Alright everyone we're back with a video that we think went pretty well! We make mistakes when DIYing just like everyone else, so we thought it would be fun to reattempt some of our past fails. We've learned some new things, tested out new techniques and hopefully we were able to redeem ourselves. Let us know which was your favourite recreation in the comments below!

Terrazzo coasters would look neat. I would paint the edge a nice gold.

Rara Avis ooo it would be so cool if Becky turned her rock shoe mat into some kind of water scene with resin!! Like maybe hold down the rocks with clear resin, but not cover the rocks because slippery, then blue and white resin for a stream
For the terrazzo project, I think you should just try loading a lot more ceramic pieces at random so some are at the surface & some look like they’re just below the surface & some pieces can be seen on the sides
and maybe use tiles instead of dishes?

the tray was a really cute idea :) A really easy way to do it is to use a wooden tray and put in some putty/plaster for tiles and then go and collect some colorful tile samples from a hardware store (often for free!) they are flat and made for projects like this and you can break or cut them easily. Them put them on top of a thin layer of putty and let it dry and fill in the gaps later. then you just need to wipe it clean and its done :) i made several mosaic trays like this and they all turned out really beautiful :)
A vinyl wrap you could heat up on the mirror for a perfect finish maybe?

Kelsey and terrazzo is like SimplyNailogocal and water marble. But Kelsey conquered her bane so maybe Simply will next.
And there is pretty good peelporn (iridescent mirror part) so Simply should watch out.
vaseline or aquafor is a great mold release for plaster, also using regular plaster could make the tray better. it goes through more stages and is more viscous for longer so it would be easier to pour.

please please please test out mirror spray paint! maybe you could put tape over certain areas so that they stay normal and make a cool design?

The shoe tray was SO much better. The terrazo tray was such a huge improvement but like Kelsey said would've been better without using the paper to line it. The mirror... it is better but doesn't look like it reflects well from what I could tell?
I’m so glad you re did the mirror! I was really excited for that diy the first time but was disappointed by the original result. I might actually try this version tho!

For future reference: vaseline works really well with plaster of Paris, more so if you're making a mould of something though

I LOVED this redo because I having been watching you guys forever and I was a bit disappointed when I was watching your 'fails' as I would always get inspired by your diys. All of these redos look amazing and I think you should continue d.i.y.ing! ❤❤
The original mirror may have ended up being a pretty cheap looking diy but I honestly liked it better! I like the colors

The terrazzo looks much nicer than before, but it would have turned even better with colored ciment. You can use any plastic container as a mold, the secret is to cover it with a very thin layer of Vaseline (if the layer is thick, you’ll see the Vaseline imprints in the ciment). Then it will come out very smooth. I think the terrazzo still need a chance. :)

You can coat a layer of Vaseline (petroleum jelly) in your mold, and it'll release easier when you need to remove your thing from the mold :) I use it all the time with resin and plaster :3

The Terrazzo looks so good! I know in cement tops etc, WD40 is often used as a mold release. I've never used plaster of paris and haven't a clue what it would be called in my language/stores...would it be sturdy enough to be a tabletop?

the second one was a good proof of concept, I'd like it to be a bit.. cleaner, sharper and shinier, tho? The first and last were amazing! I was skeptical during the process but I can totally see the shoe thing in my future dream home! And the mirror looks so cute as well, makes me want to decorate my living space some more :)

These came out soooo good
Use ceramics or pieces that have color all the way through when trying to mimic terrazzo so that when you sand it the color remains the same.
I liked the painted terrazzo.
#1 was the only one I enjoyed but good re-tries!

I sadly wasn’t able to get the holo film to show up on a mirror. Maybe it was the film I bought. Sticking to a Window worked amazing (or any glass) but the mirror basically diluted the effect for some reason
You have just barely started on the shoe thingy, but I totally see your vision, and I love it!! I wanna do this for my entryway 😍😍 I have to say it's a tad bit better than the first one 🙈😂
If you use painters tape to the inside of line's of cuts will be let splinters and splits in the wood
Oooo it would be cool to try one of the other mirror methods to create a really unique colored mirror!
"How not to and why" to me is as important if not more so than getting it right first try, helps in applying the learning to other projects also. Aaaalso thanks for helping solve my own "new home/diy" issues 👍😘👍 ... I'm stealing these cheers 😁
