Looking into getting a roof rack for my 2021 Subaru Outback. It’s not wilderness but just a limited edition version with the standard built in stowable roof racks like the one in the video. By chance would a THULE roof rack work for my Subaru like the yakima did for this one, or is Yakima the only brand that works with my Subaru. Thank you for your time.

Thanks for watching! Thule does have a system available for that roofline of the Outback. However, the attachment of this Thule system is clamping onto the existing rail system, as opposed to the Yakima which is replacing the stowable bar system. We have found that the Yakima system for the Outback in this application is the only one of the two worth the upgrade over the factory crossbars

Do the landing pads come with the core that goes in the factor hole?

Hi Thomas, thanks for watching our video! The lock cores is what I believe you are referring to. Those cores are always a separate accessory, and actually install into the Skyline Towers, not the landing pads. Hope this helps!

Does this change the max weight the roof racks can carry?

Hi Andres, this Yakima system has a weight rating of 165 lbs. Since the weight rating comes from how structurally sound the railings running the length of the roof are, it does not change the weight capacity of the system. This setup just provides a more useable crossbar compared to the OEM flip-out crossbars. Hope this helps!
