However, the attachment of this Thule system is clamping onto the existing rail system, as opposed to the Yakima which is replacing the stowable bar system. We have found that the Yakima system for the Outback in this application is the only one of the two worth the upgrade over the factory crossbars

Hi Andres, this Yakima system has a weight rating of 165 lbs. Since the weight rating comes from how structurally sound the railings running the length of the roof are, it does not change the weight capacity of the system. This setup just provides a more useable crossbar compared to the OEM flip-out crossbars. Hope this helps!

For the rear door seal inserts on the golf, you will want to place the insert into the door seal in a way that centers the middle of the seal insert with the clamp going into the door jamb. This will ensure even pressure on the seal insert. Hope this helps!

Wind noise seems to be comparable to other boxes in the Thule lineup. On our vehicle, the box was almost whisper quiet around town. It's only when you get up to highway speeds that a bit of wind buffeting is present. This will be present on almost every cargo box, because at the end of the day you are putting a storage container on top of your roof. Hope this helps!

One vs. the other is ultimately going to come down to your specific use case. If your bike has a carbon frame, or if you're planning to use the rack for a full suspension MTB than the UpRide will be the way to go. The frame contact on the ProRide XT isn't ideal for either of these applications. For alloy or steel frames with a pretty traditional downtube, the ProRide XT will offer a more secure hold compared to the UpRide. Between the frame connection, and the wheel straps front and rear, the ProRide XT offers more overall stability while driving over uneven surfaces, and through low speed turns. The UpRide is secure as well, but with any wheel mount bike tray the bike is going to have more sway due to how it secures the bike. Hope this helps!

Hard to say. We would generally figure loosing 1-2 mpg when fitting any roof rack to any vehicle. If any product was going to help with improving fuel economy marginally on a car already fitted with a roof rack, this would likely be it. However, fuel economy is not tested metric on rack components due to how many other variables are at play.

If you have a crossbar system already fitted to your WRX, the Motion XT XXL will certainly mount to the vehicle. However, it may be a little large for that size class of vehicle. Hope this helps!

Hi Louis, You can indeed open the tailgate on most trucks with the EasyFold XT mounted. By tilting the rack using the the foot lever at the front, the trays rotate forward 45 degrees in order to provide more clearance for accessing this area. Hope this helps!

Vehicles with a hatch style opening are likely to work, where as sedans and sportback style will not open and close correctly with the trunk rack installed.
