    I wonder if you can strike a ferro rod with the ring? Because you know, ferro rod! (Because apparently nobody makes matches and lighters for fire starting anymore.)

      @@SurvivalOnPurpose The finger guard is not significant enough for trusting with a double-edged blade.
      If you hit bone or a stab/spike proof vest you will lose your fingers with the edges I put on my working blades.
      I would want to see better finger guards.

    Hopefully I will never have to stab anyone or a body other than a fish :) As an Air Force paramedic working in numerous emergency rooms I sutured a number of stab wounds...not sure but I'd rather be shot than stabbed. It seems this knife is meant to slice the carotid or jugular more so than stabbing...the length seems too short to penetrate far enough into a body cavity to be fatal in a single thrust. I could be wrong though as I'm no knife expert. However, it will slice and dice and that's effective in hand-to-hand combat. Great review, Bryan, and I love your sense of humor.

    I'm from the UK so know very little about your laws in your state, I understand that in certain states you have licenses for firearms and concealed carry licenses, but where does the law stand on a "self defence" dagger like this being concealed and its use on another human being as you put it.

    • @SurvivalOnPurpose
      @SurvivalOnPurpose  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      It depends on where you are. But the laws governing justification for deadly force will apply.

    • @aggyMI
      @aggyMI 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@SurvivalOnPurpose it's all very alien to anyone this side of the pond, it would be a criminal offence here to carry let alone use a knife like that in a way you described, there are even many knives here that are illegal to own. I find it all fascinating how much laws differ on these things, thanks for the response and great video sir 🙏🏽👍🏽

      @@allemander can you expand on that statement sir, to help me understand, as I said for the majority of people here, this comes across as an alien concept, just trying to understand

    • @allemander
      @allemander 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      aggyMI
      There’s really nothing to expand on. My previous statement says it all. Your law-makers are misguided, corrupt & evil control-freaks. Imagine being and living freely in whatever way you choose, a way that causes no harm to others, the ability to own and use tools, objects & devices in the way you desire, the ability to defend & protect yourself, your right to life and to aid in the defense of others without a third-party condemning, persecuting ridiculing, criticizing, prosecuting, or punishing you for it. Tyranny is like a cancer; it spreads when it’s left unfettered.

  • @stevelucier8346
    @stevelucier8346 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Totally stinks as a throwing knife unless throwing at two people. The principle is to throw at the one furthest away in case the dagger doesn't stick so it might bounce and stick somewhere in the back side of the attacker closest to you. Kind of like a skunk doesn't need to hit the intended target to have an effect. Peppy got even today.

    • @stevelucier8346
      @stevelucier8346 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      I prefer to carry "upside down" or horizontal because of my hand deficit and lack of flexibility. This allows me to draw my main knife in an instant one handed bringing the blade forward coming up into action. I prefer the blade down with a single edge however when time counts in close quarters as the knife swings up the blade is forward. Works the same with my horizontal carry just not as fast for me.

    • @no-tj8ee
      @no-tj8ee 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Huh? Throwing a knife is an absolute garbage tactic, it's not lethal and it gives your attacker a weapon

    • @hovanti
      @hovanti 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@no-tj8ee You know how it is, though; too many people see it in movies and TV shows. Good guy throws a knife, it sticks in bad guy, bad guy goes down. In real life, the bad guy yanks it out of himself and comes at you with it.

    • @SurvivalOnPurpose
      @SurvivalOnPurpose  4 ปีที่แล้ว
