    I play sometimes where the pavement ends, and the 4Low is good for getting high revs with low speed. The max torque happens around 4200 Rpm. With the M option on your shifter, you can control the revs to the sweet spot you want for Hill climbs, mud and snow. I think the Mojave has the gearing to allow it to go up to 50 MPH in 4L. But on the trails that's like crazy talk! You can also put the rear locker on in 4H (Mojave is the only stock Gladiator that does this. Funfunfun!

    For those of us who don't own a Jeep but occasionally need to rent them on vacation, this is a valuable video to watch. Because it's not very intuitive and you can forget about the rental people knowing how to do it. I'm not sure the owner's manual always says it can be done at speed and therefore many of us try to do it stopped every time so we don't break something.
    Thanks for putting this out there!

  • @georgeswallow3832
    @georgeswallow3832 ปีที่แล้ว +7

    Here's a tip for when you're trying to shift into 4 low but can't role the vehicle. If you pull the lever back but it won't engage move the lever forward with no pressure, pull back firmly bit not violently, repeat this rapidly but not frantically. Like you're trying to gently shake the transfer case. After a few of these back and forths it should pop in to 4 low.
    What's happening is you are trying to slide one gear into another but the teeth are colliding. Since you are in neutral one of the gears is free wheeling. When you move the shifter back and forth the gears will rotate slightly and when the teeth of one gear line up with the valleys of the other they will mesh.

    I have always shifted into 4wd HI and LO at least once a month on all of the 4X4’s I have owned, starting with a Toyota FJ40 in 1972. It doesn’t hurt to do it, there is nothing worse than needing 4wd and finding out it doesn’t work.

    So, why or what does four wheel high and four wheel low mean. I am assuming that low means you're towing. And high means you're just regular driving. And if you're in two wheel high or low, which wheels are driving or pushing. What is normal driving. I have to learn just exactly what you are talking about. Maybe you could make a video on why you're in four wheel low or four wheel high and what is the Jeep doing, like towing or just driving that would be a great video. Thank you.

      @@iceblock3 lifted? Rubicon and Mojave are high enough stock that the lower control arm is almost too short, the caster is right on the edge of being not ideal. Some have switched to just the lower control arm from the Mopar 2" lift on stock rubis and Mojave (or any other trim that you've put Rubi or Mojave springs on) and it really helps.

    • @erievon1
      @erievon1 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Sorry I read that wrong, I thought you were having steering issues. Yeah you can't run 4hi or 4low on dry Pavement other then in a straight line. It locks the front and back together in the transfer case so they can't turn at different speeds and thus when you turn, it binds up at the transfer case. It's ok on dirt or snow because it can slip and relieve the binding.

      It's ok and perfectly safe to shift into 4 High on a straight dry road or gently curving highway for a few miles to exercise the transfer case.
      Just don't take any sharp turns or curves on city streets in 4 high on dry pavement.
