"Scylla" is the third song in The Thunder Saga. Odysseus and his crew sail into Scylla's lair; Eurylochus reveals to Odysseus the secret he wished to tell him in "Puppeteer". Odysseus delegates Eurylochus to have six men light up their torches, sacrificing one for each of Scylla's heads, in order to pass through her domain. Scylla observes Odysseus all the while, finding him and her alike: both were unwillingly turned into monsters, but have willingly embraced their transformation in order to survive.
the reason odysseus was forced to sacrifice six men was because the only other option, charybdis, was essentially a giant creature that would suck in mass amounts of water in a whirlpool and vomit it out a few hours after, which would wreck the boat and kill all the crew. he couldnt sail between them, because the ship would get trapped on the rocks -- scylla, meanwhile, has only 6 heads, so by filling them by sacrificing 6 men, the rest would make it out alive. i hope this makes sense, lmk if you want me to explain more/better !!
Another reason is because she kind of saw what his whole deal. no man would willingly come into her Lair without knowing the price so she had to get a look at the dumb ass who came to her house and what do you know a man whose expression matched her own. A person that it was going to do anything to survive to a almost monstrous degree.
Others have explained exactly why, but there also is this other reason: in greek mythology, scylla is described as intelligent enough to tell man and monster apart, and she doesnt eat monsters because she sees them as family, so the "we are the same you and i" line at the very end of the song is almost like shes welcoming odysseus to the family
