@@ags136 ~ LOL. If there really was a god, who truly cared about us, there wouldn't even be things like this. There would be no hurricanes, tornadoes, wildfires, earthquakes, diseases, etc., because that god wouldn't let horrible things happen. These people make no sense.
Like in houston with beryl ,its not that 100 mph will do instant damage, but 100 mph winds for 8 straight hours can destroy thousands of trees and properties. Cant imagine 150.
Great job from this meteorologist. Coming from a nerd storm spotter - he did a great job bringing the science “to level.” These models are very complicated to understand. PLEASE evacuate if you havent already and you’re in one of the evacuation zones. The rest of the country is praying for you and we’ll be there to help you pick up the pieces afterwards! ❤

1921 was the last one, Tampa gets a direct hit about every 100 years, the superstitious claim it's the native burial mounds in Tampa Bay that keep storms away.

The storm surge is what causes the destruction not the storm itself..Surges from 8-15 ft depending where you are is complete devastation.

Please, Can Dave update and mention the Riverview area. I do understand we are not flooding zones, but it's nerve-wracking that the map shows Tampa and not Riverview.
The flooding will depend on where the storm lands. If the storm goes north more, the storm surge will be worse in southern Hillsborough county since hurricanes go counter clockwise

Why does the peak always happen at night? Since I've been here in Florida for almost a decade, every single hurricane has always come at peak intensity during the middle of the night.

When you live in the center of the Hurricanes track you watch these updates a little more often.
I sold my condo a few years ago with a water view and beach because I knew my luck was running out being on the Bay. I loved living there it was quite a peaceful life. Now we live 30 miles inland and I’m not sure if we should leave ? I’m taking suggestions.

The best part of these situations is when, different weather outlets give you different computer models guidance. Literally every channel isnt showing the same models. I been watching this storm for a week and a half. And something aint right…

Apparently people have been seeing square giant shaped waves and clouds in a grid pattern off the coast, similar to how frequencies affect water on a small scale. 🤔
