I absolutely cannot Watch The Mummy 1999 without going into finish The Mummy returns. Maybe my favorite sequel of all time. Rick and Evie are my absolute favorite Movie Couple of all time and this movie solidified it because unlike so many modern films it doesn't get rid of the main relationship from the first movie and force the 2 love interests to go over the same beats of the relationship again. Instead we see it improved upon with both of them learning from the other with Rick becoming more adept and informed around Archeology and Evie becoming a fighter and a crackshot with a rifle. I love the sequence when Evie and Jonathan cover Rick with the Rifles as he goes to rescue alex. Jonathan is my favorite character in the series because he's so reliable when he needs to be. I also love seeing more of Imhotep/Anucksunamun and Ardeth Bay and the Blimp pilot is so dope. Imhoteps finish in this movie was also so tragic and the moment when Evie dives in for Rick while Anuksunamun runs away is peak relationship goals in movie cinema
In my opinion, this movie is one better cinema sequels in Hollywood. Plus, Evie, as a character in the sequel, is one of the best examples how to both develop a female heroine and make her a likable strong character.
In my opinion, that end sbattle cene was showing the difference etween the selfless love of Rick and Evy and the selfish love of Imhotep and Ancksunamun. While Rick yelled for Evy to leave and save herself, and ot put herself in danger, Imhotep called out to Ancksunamun to save him. He didn't care if it was putting her in danger. So they were both selfish. But his face when she runs away was heart breaking.
the amber thing they find Immotep in was from the liquid he fell into after getting stabbed by Rick in the first one. That's how they recovered the book as well, Jonathan dropped it as the place was falling apart
The first two are favorites of my wife and I. My wife loved this one so much, that we named our first son Alex after Evie and Rick's son. Love these videos of you showing your friend movies, keep it up.

I've said this on a previous Mummy Returns video, but I'll say it here cos it's relevent. Imhotep loved Anck-Su-Namon, willing to risk death to steal her corpse, and then once brought back by the curse, twice going out of his way to resurrect her (in the case of the second time, putting her soul back in the body of the woman who looked like her, who was duped into believing she was a reincarnation). But in the end he was only in love with the idea of her, she never truly loved him back. Back in ancient Egypt, she'd been Pharoah's mistress, in effect his personal slave in a way, so Imhotep was simply someone of power that could help her and she could use. She abandoned him the moment she realised she wouldn't risk her life to help him back, which broke his heart. It's also interesting that Anck-Su-Namon selfishly accepted the resurrection, claiming that woman's body as her own and condemning that woman's own soul to a backseat view as if possessed (I like to think she didn't look exactly like Anck-Su-Namon, it was just Imhotep's desire to believe it was her, but it's obviously a handy excuse to allow the actress to reprise her role). In Evie's case, Princess and eventually Queen Nefertiti merely borrowed Evie's body in order to show her the past at the beginning and during the balloon ride, and to give her the fighting skills needed, but she knew her time had long since been and gone and so evacuated Evie's body. She mirrors Evie's own selflessness and desire to do good for good's sake, the same way Anck-Su-Namon mirrors that woman's own cruel and selfish, but ultimately naïve personality.
I was going to comment this but you beat me to it. It’s the tragic truth to their relationship, Imhotep was a free high priest with wealth and status whereas Anck-Su-Namon was limited in her freedom and was confined to being the pharaoh’s mistress. She probably saw Imhotep as a more desirable mate (realistically they were probably closer in age than the pharaoh and he’s more physically appealing) and he was in close proximity to her while still having power and offering freedom. When I was young I made head-cannon that Anck-Su-Namon’s reincarnation only happened because the ritual was interrupted the first time he tried to bring her back in ancient Egypt, so her soul never went to the afterlife thus the body kept walking the world. I think Evie is a reincarnation of Nefertiti but the soul and body stayed one; so she’s experiencing memories of her past life even before Imhotep does the ritual this movie because the Evie’s soul and body of Nefertiti are one and go through the life/death cycle properly whereas Anck-Su-Namon’s aren’t synced. If that makes since
I got to go inside the Great Pyramid in 2005. They asked to leave cameras before entering. I think because the flash would be blinding since the chamber with what is left of the sarcophagus is almost pitch black. The passage to get the chamber almost puts you on your knees for how cramped it is. I think for me the weirdest things at Giza were having to pay to use the restrooms and the kids that try to bombard you with trying to trade. Also, do not get on a camel while visiting the pyramids cuz they will try to charge you double. Once to get on and once to get down. Do not let anyone take your picture cuz they will just walk/run off with the camera/phone. When I went the Sphinx's gate was closed so I didn't get to walk up to it. But a friend that went on another day said the gate was open so I don't know what the deal is there. I didn't have the time to go to everything that was available so i missed the little museum with the ancient sea ship. Funny thing on the way there we stopped to use a toilet at a very very poor area and on the way back we stopped at a shopping mall where I ate at Hardee's for the first time. It was $25 for a superstar meal so there is that. If you go, be prepared to see the extremely poor mixed with the affluent. My heart was broken looking down side-streets and seeing the very dirty kids playing streets in their rags.
6:24 I can confirm the mummy museums. On a side note, Universal Studios long time ago had a Mummy Returns haunted house around it came out. The lines were long and was like going into the pyramids with props from the movies show as museum pieces. It was a cool experience. There was mummy bodies hanging upside down you had to walk through, ppl in Annubis Warriors costumes, sillouttes shadows and sounds of the final fight from this movie, simulated beetles, etc. You might be able to find an old youtube vid of it somewhere
Such a fun sequel. The Mummy and The Mummy Returns are one of the best 1-2 punch movies in my opinion (because the 3rd movie does not exist). Rick and Evie are a fantastic couple who share so much chemistry. They can be romantic and lovey/dovey, but also playful with the banter. It makes them feel real. This movie is a perfect example of one where you can start watching it no matter where it is in the movie and wind up sitting down and becoming completely invested in it all over again.
That CGI they did for the scorpion king was so bad even for back then considering how well they did Anubis and his army. You girls should watch The Scorpion King. I assume Natalie hasn't being she has not seen the mummy movies till now.
The Mummy Returns did end up getting rushed to a fault, two years between releases back then was very quick and unfortunately the model for CG-Rock had the biggest shortcoming.
I went to Eygpt in the eighties and you were given a guided tour inside one of the pyramids (it was sweltering inside). I know they have recently built a replica of the pyramids that they prefer you to visit and enter due to the damage caused to the real ones over the years by tourists and footfall.
3:53 small correction: Anubis doesn’t actually take the life of people. Instead he weighs the heart of the deceased (the heart was believed to be the person’s seat of wisdom, not the brain) against a feather and if the heart was lighter than the feather, Anubis would grant them passage to the realm of the dead.
I also find it hilarious that Hollywood can never talk about older religions without smearing them with the modern Abrahamic ideals of good and evil. Anubis was never a 'dark god', merely one aspect of the Egyptian pantheon, a ferry man of the dead.
My favourite part of this film is when Rick and Imhotep are both dangling on the edge of the underworld. Rick is more concerned about the safety of Evie and his son and tells her to run away. While Imhotep beckons for Anuksunomon to save him despite all the danger but she refuses and runs away. It’s a great example of selfless love vs selfish love. And when Imhotep looks at Rick with the realization that he doesn’t have the kind of love that Rick has with Evie, he is completely defeated. Of all the dangers and challenges Imhotep faces in the end it’s the betrayal of the woman he loves that finally does him in. It’s a great moment in film.
The ending of this film made me see imhotep completely differently. I was gutted for him. Now when I watch these films I go in with the mindset "the story of two dudes who would do anything for their women... Only ONE of these women don't deserve it 🖕" 😂 😂
True. But also, in the end Imhotep was also selfish. Unlike Rick, who wanted Evie to run and save herself. Imhotep wanted Anck-su-namun to risk her life to save him.
if you think about it the mummy and the mummy returns are love stories about Imhotep and Anck-su-namun And not just rick and evelyn the last thing Imhotep sees is the real love that rick and evelyn has for each other that he did not have now that you have watched this one will you go on to watch the 3rd and then watch the scorpion king i can tell holden edited this with all the star wars bits tossed in there great job
Yo! Have yall seen Monster’s Ball? The one Halle berry won the Oscar for ? Starring Billy bob Thornton and the late heath ledger? I can imagine that film would be an interesting one to throw out into the pond …
A typical movie romance goes like this: Boy meets girl. Boy and girl don't like each other. Boy and girl change their minds and fall in love. Then in the sequel they get divorced, because everyone (in Hollywood at least) knows that after you get married the romance and adventure are over and the only way to get them back is to not be married anymore. /s Rick and Evie didn't just break the mold, they shattered it, stomped it to death, and ground it into fine powder that then blew away in the wind. The Mummy Returns must have been written by the one person in Hollywood (I can't imagine there's more than one) who understands that marriage isn't the end of the adventure; it's the beginning. For a movie couple with a similar vibe, I recommend Undercover Blues. Dennis Quaid and Kathleen Turner are a married couple starting a family who also happen to be former CIA agents who get pulled back into the world of espionage. It's upbeat, lighthearted, and at times hilarious.
Agreed. They're a bit campy, but they also know what they want to be. They cram a good amount into a short amount of time. It was like a Indiana Jones made for TV.
Props to the poor computer guys for doing what they could. They were given almost no time to do the Scorpion King creature and they didn't have The Rock to work with. He had already gone off set to get back to wrestling obligations. All they had were a few head shots to work from. I have long been a fan who doesn't like messing with originals, like what happened to the original Star Wars with new CGI added in. But, that being said, this is one that I wish they would go back and just fix that creature because it plays such a vital part of a great adventure.
The actress Patricia Velasquez who plays the Mummy's girlfriend is Venezuelan, and was a former model which shouldn't be a surprise based on her beauty and height of being almost 5' 9.5"
you guys got to watch scorpion king its a really good movie and its linked to this franchise, but watch the first one no one really watches or talks about the sequels, the first one has the rock in it.
Yes. They did use Rock's name to marketing this great sequel but at the end they kind of fail to give him screentime he deserved. So, basicly, The Scorpion King (2002) was his first real movie... fun barbarian adventure , defennetly worth to check out.
@ Frfr, I loved that movie. I used to watch scorpion king on repeat my whole childhood hood 😂 it’s sad the sequels don’t have him in them and it’s different people taken on the mantle 😔
The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption is actually a pretty decent follow-up, Victor Webster doesn't do too bad as a stand-in for the Rock while there's a pretty impressive cast with Ron Perlman, Billy Zane, Temuera Morrison, Batista, and Kimbo Slice.
Fun fact, the CGI for the Scorpion King was so bad because it was unfinished. One of the guys who worked on it said that they still had to put one more layer of art on top of what they currently had, but production was behind or something so they weren’t able to finish it.
The first Mummy movie is a 10 out of 10 I feel like this movie is an awesome sequel and could have been a 9 out of 10 but because of the bad CGI on the Scorpion King's face it brings my score down to an 8 out of 10 which is still really good the movie is fun and it's still pretty awesome
I love the first one, but The Mummy Returns is my favourite. If there's one thing I wish they would do for a remaster would be to fix the Scorpion King CGI, no need to go over the top with the realism, just improve it enough so it doesn't look like something from the PS2 because even when this came out it was just so bad. The rest of the CGI still looks pretty good, dated yes but still very decent.
8:10 That's wrong in the subtitle. Jacques was saying "Au revoir" (french for 'good bye'). Not "come on". I know because I watched this. 15:13 Remember in the first movie Jonathan said "And did I panicked?" because he is always panicky.
When I went to Egypt in 2019, you could go inside the great pyramid (with an extra ticket purchase. My absolute favorite places in Egypt were the temple at Dendera and the tomb of Sety I in the Valley of the Kings. Absolutely do NOT miss the tomb of Sety I!
"...In the first film, she looked a lot more innocent". In the first film, she hadn't been married to Rick for 10 years. "...Definitely his mother's child" - AND his father's. Patricia Velasquez is of Venezuelan and Indigenous ancestry. Her father worked for the UN so she grew up in several different countries, and speaks multiple languages.
17:26 I can kinda understand Rick and Evie not realizing Alex was opening the chest. They were at home and unaware of anyone after them. But here on the bus, after Evie was just kidnapped, knowing Alex is wearing the bracelet Imhotep's group is looking for. And having just narrowly escaped this battle but having the knowledge, it is far from over. No, that time makes absolutely no sense.
I completely love the first 2 mummy movies... there is a 3rd that not many really like ...but there is a ...scorpion king spin off movie...that I consider the trilogy final....it's the rock being the scorpion king years before mummy 2...basically finding his land and people....worth a watch for Jen and Natalie....especially Natalie who loves the rock
Ladies please put “Romancing The Stone” and “Jewel Of The Nile” on your bucket list to watch. Michael Douglas and Kathleen Turner are another duo with great chemistry from the 1980’s. ❤
As crappy as the CGI on The Scorpion King was, I love the fight between Rick and Imhotep, as well as the one between Evy and Ankh-su-namun. I also felt terrible for Imhotep when Ankh-su-namun ditched him inside that pyramid...at least she met her karma by falling into that pit of scorpions. Autism-fueled observation/side note: That snake that Evelyn kicked toward Rick is actually a milksnake. You can tell by the band pattern (red, black, yellow). If the band sequence was red, yellow, black, they'd have something to worry about because that's the band pattern of the venomous coral snake. Also, real scarabs were actually just dung beetles, who actually lay their eggs in balls of giraffe, elephant and rhinoceros dung. Two bonus fact/opinion tracks: I think Raphael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would be impressed with Evy because of that sai twirl. When Jonathan says "Hang on, Rick!!", My first response every time is "I don't think he was planning to let go"
Favoritism towards the first or second film sometimes can be dependent on familiarity of the source material. You should check out the 1932 original starring Boris Karloff and directed by Karl Freund. It’s a classic horror masterpiece and it’s a big reason for a personal preference to the 1999 Mummy (which blends the classic horror of the 1932 film with adventure films like Indiana Jones). After the first, the horror roots are stripped away more and more with each film with the Scorpion King spinoffs fully removing the horror element. The Scorpion King films are rough at best but the first one had a hell of a soundtrack for early 2000s rock fans.
I love the mummy (1999) but I absolutely love the mummy returns I know it’s not as great as the first one but this is such a fun, action and adventure film specially the score for the film is so good in my opinion
13:21 😅You literally foreshadowed that because *spoiler alert* Jonathan does in the third one as a casino owner in shanghai Lol well until his sister & rick go visit then all hell breaks loose again 😂
Apparently the digital artists that created the Scorpion King's final form towards he end of the movie did it on a very tight schedule and without much help in terms of resources. The Rock wasn't even around to provide them with reference shots.
Imhotep's heartbroken face at the end always gets me. He tried so hard to reunite with his love, and she was just a phony little b-tch. Like you can't just say "only you can ressurect me!" and commit suicide only to abandon your man when he needs you in a critical moment.
I personally didn't care for it as much but I'm glad to see someone enjoyed. Maybe it's because Rachel Weisz not being in it that took so much out of it for me because I really liked with her chemistry with Brendan Fraser.
16:38 not really. And actually most Egyptians did not mummify their dead because of how expensive the process was, including the price of the gauze itself. Most dead Egyptians were simply buried in the sand: sand is incredibly effective at hiding the dead. Even Tutankhamen wasn’t given the honor of mummification because he was an unpopular ruler in his lifetime.
Alex has to be the oldest looking 7 year old in history, O'Connell and Evie met in 1926 and the sequel takes place in 1933 assuming Alex was born in 1926.
I hope you watch all three, in my opinion the third one was not that bad like everyone claims, please get it a chance … yes the CGI was not favorable but considering the era of technology back then its understandable, it sucked that Rachel ended up getting replaceable and the son as an adult grew out of the english accent. I think Jet Li & Michele Yeoh did great in their roles, the supporting actors that played the general and the daughter I don’t remember their names but I know their faces from other films.
You can go inside the pyramid (at least you could 20 years ago). We were advised not to by our guide. I'm 6'3 my wife is 6' , they said it wouldn't be easy to bend over double up the long passage, and nothing to see. Pyramids, sphinx, all the tombs and anywhere you go ruined by very aggressive locals begging and forcing stuff into your hand and demanding payment, you say no and then there's 6 of them surrounding you demanding money for the stone they tried to force on you. The pyramids were impressive, but they were rebuilding the sphinx i.e. ruining it by covering it in new stone. Don't know how far they've got since then.
Hey Jen I'm loving these reactions! Crossing my fingers hoping to see ya'll tackle The Scorpion King starring the Rock, The Scorpion King 3: Battle for Redemption, and The Mummy 3: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor.
Well, they are beetles but, technically, they are scarabs. The Rock CGI is on most people's lists as the worst CGI ever. The fight scene in O'Connell's mansion reminded me of the first Tomb Raider movie. You guys should react to that one. I really like Oded Fehr (Ardeth). He's also in a few of the Resident Evil movies. The third Mummy movie is not as good as the first two, but it's still a fun movie. It's not nearly as bad as the haters say. The main complaint seems to be that they recast Evie but, on the plus side, Michelle Yeoh is in it, and my philosophy is that any movie with Michelle Yeoh can't be all bad.
6:55, On the subject of dreams and the future, I am a bit of a believer that dreams can sometimes tap into either the future or be able to be so creative with predicting future events that they are accurate. On numerous occasions I have seen something then I have a daja vu moment later realising it was from a dream I had. How is that possible? Not sure how 😅🤔
The VFX team had a lot of shots, but the studio only gave them a few weeks to finish up the CG for the Scorpion King character, so ... that's why his design looks rubbery and unfinished.
There's no 'gap' or plot hole in Imhotep going from the first movie to the second. Only the spiri or soul goes to the underworld - the body stays behind - in the first movie e falls in the gooye stuff from where Anck su namum would pass from the underworld into the phisical world - that pool was only gooye because he was doing his magic to open the door between planes - when he went into the pool after beeing stabed, he died - and when he died his magic wasn't keeping the passage open anywhere - and so the gooye stuff solidified - closing the passage between the underworld and the phisical world - turning into a substance like solid amber, wich encased the body as the soul was taken down by the other's who we see pulling him down As for the CGI at the end (The Rock as Scorpion King creature) - the studio was in a hurry to get the movie out quickly to bank on the first movie still beeing in the jeist geist and didn't give time to the artist to finish up that scene. If you look at the CGI in the Anubis army or the pigmy mummy's they were far far better since the artists had already finished working on those scenes
There's a lot of people who feel sorry for brendan fraser. He wasn't in movies for about 15 years . But you must realize, that for almost 20 years he was in EVERYTHING
They made a movie of scorpion king that show his life until he become the scorpion king Look for it The Scorpion King from 2002 with the rock It's a very good movie and the first movie that the rock made as main character
I listened to a Jim hill podcast where they discussed in great detail why the cgi was so bad. Supposedly the rock only have like so very few days to shoot all his scenes in between wrestling. The vfx department never had enough time to work with him on it.

I also find it hilarious that Hollywood can never talk about older religions without smearing them with the modern Abrahamic ideals of good and evil. Anubis was never a 'dark god', merely one aspect of the Egyptian pantheon, a ferry man of the dead.
@ that is also true! Afaik the gods of Egypt were never depicted as necessarily good or evil. They just…were, y’know?
The music score of this movie is so good👌one of my favorites
Keep your editor, he's brilliant! 🤣🤣🤣
So you gals are saying you rather have men looking “classic masculinity” and not toxic masculinity
Masculinity makes this world go around.
The exteriors of the O'Donnell house was actually the museum of London
The ending of this film made me see imhotep completely differently. I was gutted for him. Now when I watch these films I go in with the mindset "the story of two dudes who would do anything for their women... Only ONE of these women don't deserve it 🖕" 😂 😂
True. But also, in the end Imhotep was also selfish. Unlike Rick, who wanted Evie to run and save herself. Imhotep wanted Anck-su-namun to risk her life to save him.
16:50 I Should Have Known They Were Gonna Add That In, "It's Going To Be A Bumpy Ride" LOL
if you think about it the mummy and the mummy returns are love stories
about Imhotep and Anck-su-namun And not just rick and evelyn
the last thing Imhotep sees is the real love that rick and evelyn has for each other that he did not have
now that you have watched this one will you go on to watch the 3rd and then watch the scorpion king
i can tell holden edited this with all the star wars bits tossed in there great job
As a teenager I used to love The Mummy Returns more, but now I appreciate the first one way better.
21:28 😂😂😂thought I heard something familiar
Returns will always be my favourite 🥹💕
Yo! Have yall seen Monster’s Ball? The one Halle berry won the Oscar for ? Starring Billy bob Thornton and the late heath ledger?
I can imagine that film would be an interesting one to throw out into the pond …
A typical movie romance goes like this:
Boy meets girl. Boy and girl don't like each other. Boy and girl change their minds and fall in love. Then in the sequel they get divorced, because everyone (in Hollywood at least) knows that after you get married the romance and adventure are over and the only way to get them back is to not be married anymore. /s
Rick and Evie didn't just break the mold, they shattered it, stomped it to death, and ground it into fine powder that then blew away in the wind.
Anubis said "No cheating" and so he made Imhotep mortal.
The Librarian movies are fun watches as well
Agreed. They're a bit campy, but they also know what they want to be. They cram a good amount into a short amount of time. It was like a Indiana Jones made for TV.
@ the one set in New Orleans was awful though
I love the quick-cut movie-reference edits
Alex gets his bravery from his dad and his intelligence from his mom
the movie collection ON that wall is OMG
@@mattb6369 I’ll have to rewatch them, I only seen the sequels like one when I was really little, I’ll have to give them an other try lol
Fun fact, the CGI for the Scorpion King was so bad because it was unfinished. One of the guys who worked on it said that they still had to put one more layer of art on top of what they currently had, but production was behind or something so they weren’t able to finish it.
What played a big part was the rushed release only two years after the first movie, especially back in 1999-2001 that was way too quick.
The first Mummy movie is a
10 out of 10 I feel like this movie is an awesome sequel and could have been a 9 out of 10 but because of the bad CGI on the Scorpion King's face it brings my score down to an 8 out of 10 which is still really good the movie is fun and it's still pretty awesome
The actress who plays Anck-Su-Namun is Venezuelan...
I have always felt Rick had the same attitude as Dean Winchester and Hugh Jackman's Wolverine
Now for the reaction to the Scorpion King movie which has direct to DVD sequels.
The hero cycle added a few extra steps since I was taught in highschool and read Homer's Odyssey and the Iliad
Whats better than mummy, the mummy returns. The mummy better but the mummy returns is just a full action full time
Ladies please put “Romancing The Stone” and “Jewel Of The Nile” on your bucket list to watch.
Autism-fueled observation/side note:
That snake that Evelyn kicked toward Rick is actually a milksnake.
Two bonus fact/opinion tracks:
I think Raphael from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles would be impressed with Evy because of that sai twirl.
When Jonathan says "Hang on, Rick!!", My first response every time is "I don't think he was planning to let go"
Wtf! 😂the "i won't miss" edit 😂😂😂
RIP Adrian Biddle
Good stuff! You both pick such amazing movies to react to...
The Rock wasn't even around to provide them with reference shots.
great reaction series to start from gals. And can't wait for the reaction to the third film. 🎬⚰️
Good follow up movie
20:24 E.T was pass by.
Imhotep's heartbroken face at the end always gets me. He tried so hard to reunite with his love, and she was just a phony little b-tch. Like you can't just say "only you can ressurect me!" and commit suicide only to abandon your man when he needs you in a critical moment.
Holden & Jen, will you react to The Penguin any time soon?
Got to react to The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emperor. Is awesome! With Jet Li.
I personally didn't care for it as much but I'm glad to see someone enjoyed. Maybe it's because Rachel Weisz not being in it that took so much out of it for me because I really liked with her chemistry with Brendan Fraser.
It would be more accurate to call them scarabs. 😂
Patricia Velasquez who played Anck-Su-Namun is a Venezuelan actress. 😂
"he is daddy"- damn Natalie, lmfao
10:28 alfred pennyworth🐐
Jen your Holden is showing.
Alex has to be the oldest looking 7 year old in history, O'Connell and Evie met in 1926 and the sequel takes place in 1933 assuming Alex was born in 1926.
26:26 wtf?! You caught me off guard with this
The pygmy mummies are totally inspired by the Pygmy Skelton blow dart enemies from Diablo 2.
You don’t have to to do mummy three but you have to do the original scorpion king movie. Let’s gooooo.
As an Egyptian, I could say that one could enter the biggest pyramid at the Giza plateau
Rachel Weisz and Patrica Velasques are so fine in this movie!
They could of make some sort of "remake" but with Brendan Fraser being the (old) father figure to the main character
Yes it is that my favorite line of Jonathan’s part
O oh natalie with the daddie😂
6:55, On the subject of dreams and the future, I am a bit of a believer that dreams can sometimes tap into either the future or be able to be so creative with predicting future events that they are accurate. On numerous occasions I have seen something then I have a daja vu moment later realising it was from a dream I had. How is that possible? Not sure how 😅🤔
Omg mummy returns ❤
The VFX team had a lot of shots, but the studio only gave them a few weeks to finish up the CG for the Scorpion King character, so ... that's why his design looks rubbery and unfinished.
You're absolutely right. It didn't help this movie was released only two years after the first, 1999-2001 especially back then was way top quick.
5:44 she would’ve been fine if that snake bit her. It’s a scarlet kingsnake, which isn’t venomous. In fact some people keep kingsnakes as pets!
You can avoid the Third one, but y'all should definitely check out the Scorpion King stand alone film. Just pure fun!!!!!
There's no 'gap' or plot hole in Imhotep going from the first movie to the second. Only the spiri or soul goes to the underworld - the body stays behind - in the first movie e falls in the gooye stuff from where Anck su namum would pass from the underworld into the phisical world - that pool was only gooye because he was doing his magic to open the door between planes - when he went into the pool after beeing stabed, he died - and when he died his magic wasn't keeping the passage open anywhere - and so the gooye stuff solidified - closing the passage between the underworld and the phisical world - turning into a substance like solid amber, wich encased the body as the soul was taken down by the other's who we see pulling him down
As for the CGI at the end (The Rock as Scorpion King creature) - the studio was in a hurry to get the movie out quickly to bank on the first movie still beeing in the jeist geist and didn't give time to the artist to finish up that scene.
Gotta say…the Jen Side-Eye is better than Holden’s “Who’s to say…?” 🤷🏻♂️
They made a movie of scorpion king that show his life until he become the scorpion king
Look for it The Scorpion King from 2002 with the rock
It's a very good movie and the first movie that the rock made as main character
If you want more of the Rock, watch The Scorpion King 2002. Its another fun film.
I listened to a Jim hill podcast where they discussed in great detail why the cgi was so bad. Supposedly the rock only have like so very few days to shoot all his scenes in between wrestling. The vfx department never had enough time to work with him on it.
