This is my favorite of the trilogy. I think being the first one I watched in full was a significant factor. When I finally watched the first two, I was a bit underwhelmed, especially with the first. Watching reactions has helped me appreciate them more. The criticism of Foxy as the new love interest and partner is fair. I never considered that she was less effective than the other two. Jen’s whole issue with Dr Evil turning good and working with Austin felt like a bit much. It’s fine that she didn’t like it, but it was right at the end. He was still bad for almost the entire movie. She was talking like it was the other way around, or like there’s another movie she would have to watch with that new dynamic.
The 1st and 2nd are the best movies in my opinion, but 3 is still ok. I really disliked it when I was younger, but this one grew on me even though it's still clearly the 3rd best. She was a budding star and I felt that her agent required her to not have any over the top sexualization but also she isnt really an actress so her range of involvement and scripting was really limited . Just felt overall her casting doomed the character and it watered down austins mojo in this move as she was his love interest
I think a part of the problem is that the Austin Powers movies actually did a better job of making the love interests interesting characters, and making austin's relationships with them feel more genuine, so their departure is more noticeable and disappointing.

The open of the movie is the best part of the entire film. The movie within a movie with A-List celebrities was freaking awesome! Mike Myers said he wrote the opening movie scene just as a joke, & it just happened that everyone was available at the same time & it worked out perfectly!

Mike Myers has a script for a 4th Austin Powers but I don't see it happening because of the death of Mini Me (Verne Troyer) and the fact that it has been so long since the original three. Goldmember isn't bad (in fact it has some great scenes) but its not as good overall as the previous 2 films.
