    Love that look. Use a tarp and a woobie to camp off my bike in the same way, but I had 'em from my Army days. Simple is best and easy to me. This is a nice tent for sure, good vid.

    Your right... It does look cool. One drawback would be if I needed to run to the store to get something. Also a tarp under the tent will protect the bottom from being damaged, as well as keeping the overnight ground moisture at bay.

    • @choppularmechanics
      @choppularmechanics  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Totally. I mean it is a very versatile tent, small and compact. But definitely a tarp on bottom, and a make shift awning over tent. I'm definitely happy with it. But waiting on my polmoly stove tent to come in. That one is way cooler them this on. Only 4 times bigger.

    The flap on back by your bike is to cover your bike seat from rain too , very nice feature to have if you go through Oregon coast! Great vid!! Keep them coming!!

    slightly off topic. I love the romantic imagery in the artwork for the tent. And here's what gets me in a good way - it's the attitude of the rider that gives a bike it's abilities to go offroad. A street bike can go offroad just like it can go over speed bumps and potholes. I can just imagine a headstrong outlaw nomad on a street bike pulling off the hiway onto a dirt road... no problem whatsoever. it's all the attitude

    Good quality video, and I love your bike👍
    10 of 10 points for cool style. I really like the thought of a purpose made motorcycle tent, but…..
    Not enough headroom. I like to be able to sit upright inside my tent.
    Free standing tent would be more practical. Often campgrounds don’t allow the motorcycle to be parked in the tent area, in addition setting up for a multi day stay, or before heading into town for a burger and a beer, would be easier with a free standing tent.

  • @TheJimtanker
    @TheJimtanker ปีที่แล้ว +2

    That tent is righteous. I might have to pick me up one.
    If there was no wind or if it was raining, that center tie out would give you a lot more room and keep the rain from pooling. Best thing to do is get a stick to make a triangle to stake out the center tie out.

    • @choppularmechanics
      @choppularmechanics  ปีที่แล้ว

      Totally. Just gotta be mind full where setting up with a bunch of people. Every one kept tripping over it trying to walk between tents at night. 🤦

    Very cool Brother, I use a ACU Improved Combat Shelter with a tarp in much the same manor. It also has a zipped in area for all of my gear. I live in Oregon so it gets a lot more rain here so I use the rain fly and the tarp to cover my Harley and my tent. I cant wait to move to Texas so I can ride and camp most of the year! Keep up the great videos.

    Love it brother. You'll be really happy if you ever weld a hardtail on. Handling hugs the road more and there's some healthy flex to take up some bumps.

    I have the nomad 2 and it only came in the tan at that time and it was only $200 at the time in 2017. Bought better and lighter steaks from REI.
    I thought they would have added another foot wider but I guess not. With all my regular riding gear and camping supplies, it's a tight one man tent ⛺️

    Excellent Review! You have pointed out some of the drawbacks of the material used, but the basic concept is sound I think? I have camped with my mountain tent as close to my bike as possible, using the tent fly to attach to the bike. Thanks for the info on this tent!

  • @stevej.6674
    @stevej.6674 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Sooo, no mattress of any kind? There’s a few things I ain’t liking about it. You should check out some Aussie biker swags. Dunno if you get them in the States though. But heaps more rugged (made of canvas), has mattress included. Cooler in summer, warmer in winter. 10X quieter in the wind than flapping nylon AND you get to sleep in without the sun blinding you at 5am.

    better off using a swag like we do here in oz, heavy duty canvas, takes care of the rip problems that flimsy tents have and they are waterproof, got ventilation and come with a foam mattress for added comfort, just add your sleeping bag and your set, when your finished just roll it up tie it to your bike and go, been using it for a lot of years it now cant be beaten
