    The emergency info on the helmet is genius.

    • @TheGmusy
      @TheGmusy 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I felt it would bring bad luck to have that information on my helmet. But the idea is something new and different. 😁

    • @DivergentDroid
      @DivergentDroid 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sure you would say that. You didn't have such info on your helmet when your space shuttle got sent 500 years into the future. If you had, they would have known just where to send you back! But then you would have never met Wilma and Twiggy.

      @@TheGmusy I wouldnt do that..If sombody steals the helmet your info is on it...Your info belongs in the pocket...

      Thanks a lot for all the very useful and practical tips ! Where I live a lot of people now have their blood type on their ride or helmet (like stickers).

      What if somebody steals your wallet or your purse? Do you not carry a driver's license, insurance cards, etc. There are risks in everything. Each of us should balance those risks as we decide how to proceed. I think the helmet emergency info is a risk I'd likely take if on a long journey. Thanks for sharing!

    I started motocamping with my girlfriend back in 1978 and later took up sea kayaking. When you get more experience you will be more selective in your choice of gear for any type of camping. I will recommend everyone to bring what they need and not copy others. Cheap PVC waterproof clothes as used by fishermen works much better than most motorcycle brands in heavy use. Most things can do two jobs. You can sit on a folded mattress and a jacket can double as a pillow.
    The emergency information on the helmet was a good idea. I'll copy that. Thank you.

    Switching to LED lights will help with your charging other devices. Halogen and filament bulbs use twice the power. Older bikes can be converted to them without much trouble. Turn signals use less power as they are not constantly on, the headlight is the big energy consumer.
    During the day I ride with the high beams on. It will not blind anyone as their eyes are adjusted to the sun, but the higher beam angle will let you be seen by others better.

    • @LunchCutterProductions
      @LunchCutterProductions  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      It never crossed my mind to swap the headlight to LED, that's a great idea! This bike also had auxillery LED fog lights which definitely helped me see better but were very battery intensive. High beam is also a great idea for extra visibility, thanks for the great tips!
