I wish Samsung would ditch the 200 MP and AI gimmicks and give us a new 1-inch sensor with the S25 Ultra. It is time for them to evolve. Also, the ultrawide and 3x cameras are due for an upgrade. They have been using the same sensors since the S21 Ultra if I am not mistaken.

@VNUDrawingArt I still prefer Samsung overall. I trust the software more, plus there are features like Dex that are really useful. Samsung offers a VERY effective three stage Picture Softening feature in it's Camera Assistant settings add-on. This is for photos only though, not for video. I wish mobile manufacturers dropped ultrawide sensors and too wide main sensors (25 mm should be the minimum). Indeed, how can one enjoy having a distorted subject that doesn’t look like what the photographer sees in reality. I’d much rather have only 2 or 3 or 4 “big” sensors all featuring sensor-crop, macro, portrait mode and 8K video : ½” to 1 inch sensor, 50 MP, dual pixel PDAF, 25mm or 35 mm (Who will dare?) with variable and fast aperture ( < f/1.8) ½” to 1 inch sensor, 50 MP, dual pixel PDAF, between 50mm and 75mm with variable and fast aperture ( < f/1.8) ½” to 1 inch sensor, 50 MP, dual pixel PDAF, between 75mm and 100mm with variable and fast aperture ( < f/2.0) ½” to 1 inch sensor, 50 MP, dual pixel PDAF, between 100 mm and 150mm with variable and fast aperture ( < f/2.8) The same goes with zoom over x20 or x30 : what’s the point of having a zoom beyond 500/750mm, unless it be for a “binoculars” feature ? Mobile manufacturers should focus on image quality between x1 and x30, i.e. color consistency, color accuracy, exposure accuracy and sharpness across the different lenses. Speaking about image quality, I also wish manufacturers gave more information about and focus on the lenses manufacturing, material and coating instead of banking on A.I.. Sensor size-wise, Xiaomi, Vivo and Oppo are the closest to these wishes. Yet, I own a Samsung S24 Ultra 1Tb. Why ? First, the trade-in scheme (S23 Ultra 1Tb) during the pre-order period in France and the give-away smartwatch that I sold made the phone down to 500€. Second, a phone is not all about photography : S-pen is quite handy when editing a picture, swiping on keyboard or even surfing on the internet ; with e-sim no hassle of ordering or inserting a sim card (Vivo has e-sim too) and customization is just brilliant. Finally, global versions of Chinese phones are not always available or not easy to get and Chinese versions are a deal breaker as they don't support some of 4G and 5G from European networks.
You may be right about a lot of things, but when it comes to the E-Sim, you are completely wrong, because: E-Sim should be banned in the EU or completely. This technology allows fraudsters to impersonate someone else or someone from your home country even more cleverly, to disguise themselves and hide, and makes it almost impossible to find the owner of the E-Sim. After a long search, clarifications and research, you might eventually find out that the owner is based in Nigeria, but neither the Nigerian state nor the local police there will help you track down the fraudster who sold you something you never received or who hacked your mobile and misused your credit card. However, E-Sim phone numbers from your home country (country code) can be bought in multipacks at a dumping price. This technology circumvents the ID requirement when signing a mobile phone contract so that the identity can be traced, which currently applies in many smart countries, and thus makes mobile networks unsafe and dangerous.

@@chanronnie5079 both are very capable point and shoot camera phones, but if you enjoy playing around with manual photography then xiaomi has more functions... Alternatively If you just open camera and take photos in portrait /auto and never change settings... get Samsung because I think it's the better phone over all. I have xiaomi 14 ultra, it does take incredible photos... But I found I had to learn the basics of apature/iso/ev/ shutter speed /focal lengths to maximise the functionality of the camera
Would I like Samsung to integrate the same quality of camera equipment as Chinese smartphones? Ooh yes !!! On the other hand, I know that it's not going to happen anytime soon, when you see that despite the super advanced hardware of Chinese smartphones, Galaxy S manages to do as well and very often even better. And above all, a smartphone is not just a camera 📹, and off camera, Galaxy S is completely above any Chinese smartphone. 🙏🏽
Because xiaomi using telephoto for macro shoot, it can focus really close, so you can get sharper and detail macro shoot with tele lens. And it's bette as my opinion, because i've seen another creator doing the comparison, not just once. And for the result, i've choice xiaomi tele close up image as better quality base on my opinion. Even im using SM note 10 till this day.. 😂
One homework for Xiaomi is the color consistency between lenses, so far only Samsung and iPhone have managed to solve it. Another would be the front camera quality. Don't get me wrong, it's a major upgrade over the 13 series, but is still not the same level as the other two giants. OTOH, whatever Xiaomi has now that are absent in the others are their homework. So, overall Xiaomi is already in the same level of competition.
There is not such a big deal for me there is photos that are better with s24ultra and there is photos better with the xiaomi 14 ultra but again... There isn't such a big deal/difference 🙏🙏
Thank you so much for reviewing, you are amazing. Xiaomi is a very annoying phone, I definitely do not recommend it to anyone. Definitely buy a Samsung to use it for many years.
Dude can you make a video about normal phones the ones people can really buy, I know you get yours for free but most of us have only phones that don't shoot 8k or 4k is so tiring all videos I see is about expensive phones, both of these phones here in Brazil has the price of a used car. Just a suggestion. I have a Redimi 12 4g and never see anything about this model when we are talking about filmmaking.
@@SiHorrocks Love Xiome and am glad they support your channel. So you know well the high prices, and in the Global South, these phones are like 5x more expensive due to the money currency and local taxes.
Xiaomi software is the only reason you shouldnt get a xiaomi. HyperOS has bugs and they dont bother to fix them. Notifications dont come, google dialer crashing, whatsapp notifications not showing up when someone is calling. Delayed notifications.

Hello Simon, thank you very much for this perfect review. I have a wish. Could you make a comparison video with the Oppo Find X7 Ultra and the Xiaomi 14 Ultra? That would be helpful for me. BR Jens
This means you can save 500 dollars and get a much better camera phone which even has a variable aperture and much much better charging speeds both wired and wireless. And a pretty crazy design with vegan leather too.
Thanks for your work ❤
Thank you for the in-depth review, going for Xiaomi
Please do Vivo v30 camera review, they have 50MP main camera and 50MP ultra wide camera too, such amazing i think.
Nice! What a great job. But, how did you shoot slow-mo 4K with the Xiaomi? Thx!
awesome videos, thank u
I have a sony 1 V now and was wondering IF I want to switch to s24 ultra or Xiaomi 14 ultra how I can get my external mic to work hehe
Thank you for sharing this video.
2:23 where can i find that information?
The Xiaomi looks like a real photographer, while the Samsung is just a phone. Good job, Xiaomi!
Xiaomi front camera always been pretty horrible, they really gotta step it up here
Bro Horrocks please do Triple Camera Battle between Huawei Pura 70 Ultra VS Moondrop Miad 01 VS Vivo X100 Ultra in May 2024
Fair enough
Wow nice review camera
I cant get over how over sharpened the galaxy is ... Xiaomi looks like a real camera imo
this guy's voice is smoother than cream fr
Hiii there you first said that both have 4 rear cameras and then you explained about just three cameras on the s24ultra 🙏
4th is 50 MP 5 times periscope
You have to show more the side by side pics.
Xiaomi 14 ultra 🔥
Oh, I like this video and pictures. Its always a mix of pretty good pictures and important informations. You have the great feeling to make dreamfull pictures. I relax by looking this pictures . Thx.
What about huswei pura 70 is the too of iphone and all Android phones ❤
Anyways I would love to see how the Xiaomi fares against the vivo x100 pro. Cos I am torn between the 2 and don't know which one to get
Get xiaomi
@@Kakarot7314 Thanks
My Xiaomi 13T have menu Selfie video bokeh, why 14 ultra doesn't have?😮
Sir what is your opinion Xiaomi or sumsang
Xiaomi 14 Ultra ❤
Dxomark scores, 144 for s24U and 149 gor mi14U
DXO is weird. Neither phone is that mediocre.
I'm in 9th min of the video I dont think there is comparison, 14ultra is kick ass
If you want to point and shoot Samsung... If younwant more control and creative capabilities .... Ultra 14...
I'm still puzzled - does it mean i can't point-&-shootcwf Xiaomi-14-ultra?
@@chanronnie5079 both are very capable point and shoot camera phones, but if you enjoy playing around with manual photography then xiaomi has more functions... Alternatively If you just open camera and take photos in portrait /auto and never change settings... get Samsung because I think it's the better phone over all. I have xiaomi 14 ultra, it does take incredible photos... But I found I had to learn the basics of apature/iso/ev/ shutter speed /focal lengths to maximise the functionality of the camera
Sir you did nor cover macro capabilities for Xiamo Lenses
For all Samsung fanboys, I cant love these devices because Samsung don't cater for PWM sufferers so can't even give it a go.
Xiaomi ❤
Would I like Samsung to integrate the same quality of camera equipment as Chinese smartphones? Ooh yes !!!
On the other hand, I know that it's not going to happen anytime soon, when you see that despite the super advanced hardware of Chinese smartphones, Galaxy S manages to do as well and very often even better.
And above all, a smartphone is not just a camera 📹, and off camera, Galaxy S is completely above any Chinese smartphone.
🙏🏽
"Completely above" I can't even get good shots with RAW on my S24 Ultra, 200MP is a gimmick, would much rather have a 12MP larger sensor
Wow this is incredible review, no obnoxious laughs, no obnoxious animations, no obnoxious music. Well done amd stick to this format 🫡
Watching in Xiaomi 14 Ultra ! 🙂
What's ur opinion?
Samsung s24 ultra ❤ ❤
جهازي الحالي هو Xiaomi 14 ultra
رائع للغاية والتصوير جيد جدا 🔥😍

Can pl explain how u do "point-&-shoot"?
Samsungs telephoto video/photos are so oversharpened 🤢
Best camera phone is Xiaomi 14 Ultra not the Samasung s24 ultra.
Samsung has terrible video sharpness.
Not really. By S24 Ultra user. My videos in gallery are cristal clear.
@@lepdra ну видно же, что у самсунга дикий перешарп.
@@tegkgiofJust turn on the high bitrate mode 🤷🏽♂️
Xiaomi cost-effective Samsung photo and video editing
Not about price, Samsung has objectively worse photos because of the sensors.
❤
Why no Macro features on Xiaomi?
Because xiaomi using telephoto for macro shoot, it can focus really close, so you can get sharper and detail macro shoot with tele lens. And it's bette as my opinion, because i've seen another creator doing the comparison, not just once. And for the result, i've choice xiaomi tele close up image as better quality base on my opinion. Even im using SM note 10 till this day.. 😂
Where do you live
One homework for Xiaomi is the color consistency between lenses, so far only Samsung and iPhone have managed to solve it.
Another would be the front camera quality. Don't get me wrong, it's a major upgrade over the 13 series, but is still not the same level as the other two giants.
OTOH, whatever Xiaomi has now that are absent in the others are their homework.
So, overall Xiaomi is already in the same level of competition.
No it isn't
Rubbish
@@afistfulofpimples1745 ok, garbage, didn't know you can speak
@@mariospiteri8561 for you, not for me

There is not such a big deal for me there is photos that are better with s24ultra and there is photos better with the xiaomi 14 ultra but again... There isn't such a big deal/difference 🙏🙏
No mate the kit s24ultra has it also exactly as xiaomi but isn't samsung made sry but i forget the brand's name
Chinese bots are commenting everywhere
Thank you so much for reviewing, you are amazing.
Xiaomi is a very annoying phone, I definitely do not recommend it to anyone.
Definitely buy a Samsung to use it for many years.
"Annoying" in which way?
First to watch 👍👍👍
What?… Do you want a medal? Took a lot of effort, didn’t it?
Both phones oversharp alot
10:09 the background looks like a greenscreen, looks fake.
that's my garden. The blur is entirely optical, nothing computational involved
@@SiHorrocks yeah I get it, but the quality of the footage (terrible) is what I was implying.
Invest on chinese brand is dumb decision
Commenting this is a dumb decision
which is better S24 ultra or the 15 Pro max, camera
Depends, if you like editing photos and videos, definitely iPhone 15PM, if you only do basic photography, and need the zoom, S24 Ultra
I'm only sent Xiaomi phones to review, most of which are lower budget. The rest I have to buy myself
