Could I have worded my sentence better? Yes I could have. However, my point of view is a waiter working in a touristy restaurant who doesn't speak a word of English will be frustrating for any tourist/foreigner.
Could not agree more @masabalandzic1790 ... this is the first of @fivefootnomad video and it will be my last, what an ignorant and self entitled comment, go back to your own country and stay there.
Lol how do you move to someone else's home country & get upset they don't speak a language that's foreign to them🤣. That's like a person from France moving to the US complaining we don't speak french.French. I get English is a common language but they're required to learn it for us we should learn their language if we're going to live in their home.
Yeah I agree on this one but I guess it is still a downside if your learning as it’ll take a while to learn the language and I guess you need to survive in the middle lol. If I moved to a country with a foreign language I would definitely try and integrate and learn the language but I guess realistically it won’t be over night and I know if I go to some countries I’ll have a much easier integration because there are at least a lot of people that can speak my language enough to understand what I want.
My point of view; a waiter who is working in a touristy restaurant and doesn't speak a word of English, will be frustrating for any tourist/foreigner. Could I have worded my sentence better? Yes I agree.
I don’t care about some people not speaking English (I love the older waiters) and the cakes thing isn’t a thing. Definitely agree about the drivers though it has gotten better. What you missed though are: 1. Smoking indoors 2. Trash in nature 3. Bad parking
Literally we have such good cakes and sweets, it’s so much better than sponge cake that you are talking about… I had a black friend and everyone in my country was always super nice to her and wanted to make her feel at home
Actually after I made this video I tried some cakes and I must say there are some very good cream cakes, I guess it just takes some getting used to after all. Yes everyone is super nice to me as well.
So you come to my home and insult us yes me and most young people speak english so older people 40 plus dont speak it well and all your reasons are kinda valid but still come on.
My intention is not to insult anyone. I love living here and the people are very nice to me. I'm just stating my opinion based on my experience to help people be aware of it. If it comes off as rude, I apologize.
You're just different from them. I'm french carribean. France is the country of bakery and what you call a normal cake is not normal to us. In "patisserie fine" cream is used all over the place. I find it a bit disrespectful to call things that you're not used to "weird". Concerning the waitresses would you like them just to not serve you ? They are not dumb for just doing their job. If they did not serve you, would you call them racist ? Anyway most of the things that bothered you would not bother me except for the driving. Thanks for sharing your experience and I think you should just move to Atlanta by the way. Leave these people alone
You hit the nail on the head. You can't stop loving the land you come from, even if it's scorched. Same applies to your parents, even when they sometimes don't treat you respectfully@@kosazaric3007
Thank you, that's very useful. I'm in the process of moving to Montenegro and was after 'what is life there really like' / negatives. For me the bad driving and possibly item 4 (in its 'charging foreigners more than locals' form), would be the things to watch out for. But it does sound like a great place.
Hi Chris, I'm so glad you found my video useful to you. It is indeed a great place to live especially if you don't earn a local salary and you know how to have a good time lol. I wish you all the best in your moving endeavours. Feel free to ask me any questions you may have or send me an email fivefootnomad@gmail.com

Hey Basilia, my name is Besi, and currently live in Botswana, Africa. I have watched 2 videos and might I say, your content is extremely helpful. I am currently looking for the best & most affordable European country to live in. Why Europe? I got a remote job 5 months ago (I am not with them anymore) and that job it enabled me to earn in US Dollars, which was amazing. I am currently learning a new skill and looking for remote work (as a freelancer or part-time) online to fully become a digital nomad and then relocate to Europe. You are an African digital nomad and watching your videos gives me a realistic understanding of what being a traveling digital nomad means. Montenegro has been on my radar and I am interested in getting to Europe before the 3rd quarter of the year and possibly staying there for more than 3 months if I find it suitable for my lifestyle. But your video has given me hope that Montenegro might be a great place, outside of the things you do not like. I found that we are similar in a lot of things. Any tips or guidance as to where I could get good-paying freelance or online jobs? I really appreciate your assistance. And, if you happen to still be in Montenegro when I come, I would love to meet with you and you could show me the best places to be. Thank you for your content and keep on!
It's maybe true in a society/country where the "tipping" is included in the price or when you already pay for a high service in a boogie restaurant, but in developping countries and in average bars/restaurants, it clearly makes a difference in the treatment you receive. Always speak by explaining the context.
Hi, I can provide you with relevant information based on what I've learned so far. Feel free to send me an email at fivefootnomad@gmail.com for further inquiries.
İ have to say this, but your complaining about people not speaking English is simply disrespectful. Don't go around the world expecting everyone to speak English. Especially if you decide to stay for a longer time in that country. You need to work on that attitude young lady.
Thanks for your opinion. However, your assumption is false; I don't expect everyone to speak English - its unrealistic. However, if your economy is dependent on tourism then learning the basics of English may be better for you especially if you work in the service industry no? BTW I get by with English here just fine doesn't mean I'm not learning the language still.
Hi Chika, I miss connecting on Instagram as well but right now I'm focusing on my personal life and creating content with more longevity like TH-cam videos. Thanks for watching my videos, I really appreciate it.
Weve been in Podgorica a year now and coming from Latin America we feel like people are generally not as friendly or open. Its definitely been harder to make friends than when weve lived in Latin America, the Middle East or Africa.
We do not trust foreigners, regardless of where they come from. In Montenegro, friendship is sacred and is not superficial, but must have deep significance. Montenegro has a difficult history and that is why the people are not so happ
True, it’s been harder for me to make friends as well. Yes Montenegrins are friendly in the beginning and will help you if you need help but for real friendship and connections, it’s been difficult.
Relations in Montenegro are clanic. Either your marry somebody and enter the clan or you are already part of the family by birth. The smoking part, is because most people don't have money and they unconsciously numb the hunger they can feel sometimes. The same goes for coffee. It's the cheapest and more abundandent goods you will find in the country. About people being sneaky, you''re are right. If they can charge you more for what ever reason, they will do, especially if you are foreigner. And about law and rights, truelly forget it. You can buy your way out of any situation for the right price. This corruption is what makes it so hard to live in this country and in slavic countries in general. And I think that is also what makes people very angry and more violent in their relations. You have to understand that despite some advance technological features you can get in Montenegro, it's mostly all imported. Schools don't provide high technical education and people in average are not well educated. They know the basic from secondary school, but sometimes you will have to travel across the all country to find a basic specialist of which you could find dozens in every city in western Europe. My native country needs a total change of paradigm, but i don't think it will happen. Because the youth, are all travelling outside the country by every chance they get. Nevertheless, hope you will find happiness there. And for the trash, you are absolutly right. Long ago, we called Montenegro Chateau d'eau/Water tower in Europe after Switzerland. But know, because of all the plastic they throw in the rivers and burn in open air, you wouldn't put a food in the water, even with shoes on. Quite a sad situation. Maybe it will change, but I don't think it will happen before 20-30 years.
@@mercurerio Montenegro has a good education system, our students get the best scholarships. And secondary schools have a better educational system than England and America. I come from this country, and what this youtuber says about it, is closest to what I have experienced myself as a native from Bijelo Pojle. Not everything is a hainous critic just for views.
Maybe the waiter didn't want to speak English to you? Maybe you had an attitude and they just reflected it back to you? Learn the basics of their language. It's not that difficult.
Calling someone dumb for not speaking English in their own country that’s over 40 years old is very rude.
Could I have worded my sentence better? Yes I could have. However, my point of view is a waiter working in a touristy restaurant who doesn't speak a word of English will be frustrating for any tourist/foreigner.
