I loved Tigger when I was a kid. Why? Well, let me explain... The wonderful thing about Tiggers Is Tiggers are wonderful things. Their tops are made outta rubber Their bottoms are made outta springs They're bouncy, trouncy, flouncy, pouncy Fun, fun, fun, fun, fun! But the most wonderful thing about Tiggers Is he's the only one! TTFN! Ta ta for now!
My mom relates to Rabbit strongly. She always says, "We used to think he was grouchy, but really, who wouldn't be upset if someone kept ruining your garden?"
My favorite Winnie the Pooh character is Christopher Robin. My mom nicknamed my siblings and I after the characters based on personality and mine was Christopher Robin because of my creativity. My mom used to love reading the Winnie the Pooh stories to my brother, my sister, and I. My brother was nicknamed Tigger because of is hyperness and my sister was nicknamed Piglet for her shyness. My mom we jokingly called Eeyore because of her severe depression. The reason I'm using past-tense is because my mom died last fall from heart failure, she had drank and smoked herself to death. I still sleep with the Winnie the Pooh stuffed bear she bought me shortly before she died even though I'm 16.
eeyore was always my favorite because he was sad and i was a sad kid. I just wanted to hug him and tell him it was okay to be depressed. once i got older and was diagnosed my love for eeyore made a lot more sense.
Danielle Lowry The thing I love most is that Eeyore's friends never just tell him to cheer up or stop being so grumpy, they never expect him to pretend to be all happy for them, they accept that he isn't often able to really be "present" or "excited", but invite him for games and activties and adventures regardless, not to cheer him up, but just so he knows he's still loved and isn't alone.
Eeyore = Depression Piglet = Anxiety i can 100 percent relate to this comment! I liked these two the best but my mom always bought me stuff with Tigger on it.

My favorite character in Winnie the Pooh? Tigger Or Eeyore Or Piglet Or Winnie Or Christopher Robin. I can't decide. Why must I decide? Definitely not the owl. I hated the owl.
Eric Stearns Yeah I'm right there with you. When I look back and think who was my favorite character, I don't think I ever really decided. Some days it was Piglet, than next it was Eyore or Tigger or Winnie or Christopher Robin or that little kangaroo guy (I think his name was Joey, not sure though). And I don't even remember the owl.... I was pretty small when most of the modern Winnie the Pooh movies came out. Now that I think about it 'Who was your favorite Winnie the Pooh character?' is a pretty impossible question. Now I'm gonna go see if Netflix has any Winnie the Pooh movies.
You hated Owl? Why? Sure, he was a little pedantic, but he wasn't THAT bad.Personally, I always found Rabbit the most annoying character. But then again, I could never really bring myself to hate any character from Winnie the Pooh. It's just too harmless and cute. It's like the epitome of innocence. :P
have you seen this muffin im sorry for your lost. I also.. lost my grandma last February.... I'm still living the nightmare she’s no longer here with me 😭
The story of Winnie the Pooh is a long one, but to make it short, he's called Winnie the Pooh because the real life Christopher Robin was having struggles naming his teddy bear. He went to a zoo one day and saw a bear named Winnie there (and was let into the enclosure to play with it) and decided to name his teddy bear Winnie, and, for unknown reasons, put the Pooh at the end
Carissa Leipold The bear was trained by the soldier to be a gentle bear (or like a dog), when the bear was sold to a zoo, a lot of kids were allowed to go inside to meet the bear
Honestly Pooh sounds like a title, like Winnie the King or something. like how you say the Queen when your talking about Elizabeth the Queen. Then Pooh Bear could be translated to king bear, or king of the bears. I think that deep in the hundred acre woods, Winnie the Pooh is Royalty
My favorite character might have to be Eeyore. I was always fond of him, gloominess and all, and I really liked it when he would unexpectedly get involved, such as in the search for Owl's new house and writing a poem. I find that I really love the story behind the swan's name. In the book, there's an intro where A.A. Milne talks about how they called the swan Pooh because if it didn't respond to your call (which it often didn't, being a wild swan), you could pretend you weren't calling the swan and were actually just saying "Pooh!" to it! XD
Fun fact: In polish version of Winnie the Pooh Eeyore is Kłapouchy, which basically means that his ears aren't up XD But it can also mean that he's depressed, it's kind of a complicated story XD Also Winnie the Pooh is Kubuś Puchatek, and Kubuś is a diminutive to Kuba which is a diminutive to Jakub, which is a name and this name is a polish version of Jacob. And Puchatek came from puchaty which came from puszysty, which means that something is fluffy or fat.
Before this, I bearly knew why, I'd always wondered... Never thought there'd be an entire video on it and never thought I'd watch an entire video on it... Thank you...
Snazzy Kitty Unintentional?.. Kitty, my puns are NEVER unintentional... Honestly, I just wanted to use the bearly pun in context, that's why it's followed by all that crap...
Okay, one thing though - about 15 years ago there were shorts about the history of Canada, and one of them was based on this. It sounded like the soldier commissioned an artist to draw Winnie so Christopher Robin wouldn't miss him, and he also got someone to write up stories about Winnie, but it was actually by Chris's request he just be called "Winnie the Pooh". But now I am not sure which is the true story. XD
Honestly Pooh was always my favorite. He has this "oh bother it" personality that is simultaneously hilarious and inspiring to somebody who worries way too much. Rabbit is a close second.
My favourite character is Christopher Robin, followed closely by Eeyore and Piglet. And anyway, have you noticed how the main characters from Winnie the Pooh are really similar in nature to Inside Out characters? Piglet is Fear, Eeyore is Sadness, Pooh is Joy, Rabbit is Anger, Owl is Disgust, Tigger is Bing Bong, and Christopher Robin is Riley. Connecting the dots here where there are none, but hey, its fun to think
There is a movie about it now :) It's called "Goodbye Christopher Robin". The whole story around Pooh, his author and his son is explained in it :) Basically, the author's sons name is Christopher Robin (they called him Billy Moon tho) and he begged his father to write a book for him because Milne was an author - he wrote theatre plays and children books. Christopher loved his plush toys so much that he made up stories with his father about them and they went straight into the book. They moved from London to a small cottage because of Millers PTSD so there is where the woods are coming from. Winnie was a name from a brown bear in a Zoo (it was a short form for Winnipeg, a city in Canada) and Pooh comes from Milne. When he was ut in the woods with him he told he son: "See this swan? You can call him Pooh so if he doesn't react you can pretend just saying 'pooh...'" This is the story why Christopher Robin named his teddy bear "Winnie Pooh"
u left one part out about the vet he wasn't going to fight but to take care of and heal the solderes horses. My mom has the official non fiction book about Winnie the Pooh in her library.
Correction: "When We Were Very Young" was written and published BEFORE "Winnie the Pooh," not afterwards. Big Pooh fan here. I loved the TV series that ran through the 80's and 90's, and was sad when the later Pooh movies ignored it (Pooh and the gang knew some friendly Heffalumps well before "Pooh's Heffalump Movie." But does Disney want this generation to know that? Nope.) The books are better. My favorite character? Tigger!
Oz Fan Nice name and icon by the way. Also, correction: His name is Edward Bear as well I read two of the books and watched some of the old vhses as a kid.
It was a book of poetry. Nice poems, some of which I have memorized to this very day. One of the poems in the book features Winnie the Pooh back when he was still called Edward Bear. A. A. Milne also wrote another poetry book called "Now We Are Six," which also has some poems about Winnie the Pooh.
awwwww... now we are six. I remember reading that the night of my sixth birthday with my dad and he made loads of jokes about me having been very young but now i was six. aah good times
In Denmark, his name is "Peter Plys!" :-) By the way, I think I've seen some comments or something like that, where people, almost immediately when saying "ja" or "nej" and possibly other stuff, think they're Swedish! There's another country, that I mentioned before, who say it like that: Denmark! >_
Hey, brother! So I have a Harry Potter question I was hoping you guys could answer :) JKR has stated that ever since Hagrid became a teacher, he is "allowed" to do magic again. so, why did he never replace his umbrella with a real wand? Even if the MoM were against giving a half-giant a wand again, I feel like Olivander would have been nice enough to let Hagrid see if another wand would choose him. Thoughts? c:
I thought the umbrella had his wand pieces in it? It still worked, it was just kinda wonky. He had gone much of his life without a fully working wand, maybe he just got used to doing magic without it.
We know that 1) The Elder Wand can cast reparo other wands perfectly, as seen when Harry fixes his own. 2) Dumbledore had the Elder Wand for a long time. 3) Dumbledore couldn't care less what the Ministry orders about anything. I think Dumbledore had already repaired the wand in Hagrid's umbrella when he was working as gamekeeper.
Just laying here listening to this as I try to sleep at 6am, and J hits me with the "say it with me.....franklin" trying to sleep and you getting me laughing over here, I thought it was hilarious just how Stern he said it 😂
I know he mentioned the book, but didn't they make a movie about it a while ago? I remember watching something like it on Netflix a few years ago, although I might be thinking of one of those military dog movies.
I goddamn love WTP, and am unashamed to say that I still have Winnie The Pooh wallpaper in my bedroom, despite being 14. I have several original illustrated copies of the original book, some of which have my name in them, and at LEAST 50 stuffed toys. I could probably recite my way through the first book. I also have a WTP chrome theme and YT banner because let's be real, you can't NOT have them :) I'm not obsessed XD
mandygurl2341 it is honestly one of the best fandoms in the world :) Winnie the Pooh was one of the biggest parts of my childhood, and I don't think I'll ever be able to let go of it ^-^
Going through your guys' old content while I'm stuck in the whole quarantine thing and not sleeping at 5 am... you really need to bring back the amazing socks. Oh, as a kid, I didn't really like any of them. As an adult, I love Rabbit. Voice of reason and always trying to reign in his rambunctious... acquaintances. That's relateable.

I always think, "Oh yeah, it's my buddy J!" and then I realize I've never actually met him and he has no idea who I am.
Maybe it was just a polite way of saying "he's the shit"...
Kid - "Winnie's the shit!"
Dad - "That's not a nice word."
Kid - "Winnie's the poo!"
Winne was murr from impractical jokers first crush

Just laying here listening to this as I try to sleep at 6am, and J hits me with the "say it with me.....franklin"
trying to sleep and you getting me laughing over here, I thought it was hilarious just how Stern he said it 😂
I know he mentioned the book, but didn't they make a movie about it a while ago? I remember watching something like it on Netflix a few years ago, although I might be thinking of one of those military dog movies.
DodoWizard max? That one was egg in my opinion and yes I said egg as in random things you never know what will come out of your eggshell
My favorite Winnie The Pooh Character is Pooh Bear. 😍

There is no channel here Oh yeah I think I read about that somewhere :D
So? My sister's almost twelve and she still believes in unicorns.
Bryony The Overthinking Pigeon awwwwwwe that is precious! Such a pure fandom to be a part of. Do not change yourself for this world!
mandygurl2341 it is honestly one of the best fandoms in the world :) Winnie the Pooh was one of the biggest parts of my childhood, and I don't think I'll ever be able to let go of it ^-^

Oh, as a kid, I didn't really like any of them. As an adult, I love Rabbit. Voice of reason and always trying to reign in his rambunctious... acquaintances.
