    Thanks for watching and liking, guys! :) I have some notes after reading your responses!
    1. SORRY I mispronounced "Cambridge;" I've honestly never heard someone say the name out loud (prolly because I'm uncultured) and went with a midwest US pronunciation :|
    2. The jump cuts were the most efficient way to tell this story from a production standpoint. If you're not a fan of the style I apologize, but considering how much information I would have had to memorize to avoid the jump cutting and how long the recording process would have taken... I have no regrets.
    3. Some people were annoyed I was calling Christopher Robin "CR"... I thought this would be less annoying than repeating "Christopher Robin" 200 times, but some guy said he gave me a thumbs down for it... Idk man you can't please everybody ¯\_ (ツ) _/¯
    Appreciate all your love and support! Now I've gotta ask... are you excited for the Christopher Robin movie? :)

    As much as I feel sorry for Christopher Robin, I do think the Pooh Stories were a healing method for his father. His father was in both wars and the First World War especially messed him up as it did to so many men. I’m glad he wrote the stories which children and adults alike treasure and still read and watch to this very day. This series is one of my all time story series, it’s simplistic and compelling and the vibes it gives off is one of love and cheer.

  • @ziongite
    @ziongite 2 ปีที่แล้ว +195

    His father was pretty damn smart actually if you think about it, as an adult we cannot just magically remember what it was like exactly to think as a child, so a lot of stuff we create may not be appreciated by children, so his technique of essentially learning from his son's fantasy world games and using that as stories for his book was very smart, since it's from the mind of a little boy's fantasy imagination, it's obviously going to be enjoyed and understood by other little boys and girls also.

      Incest used to be pretty normal back then, royal families around the north, and in places like Egypt, nobles wanted to keep the bloodline “pure.” It is pretty sick. Inbreeding can cause genetic based recessive disorders, and fluctuating facial asymmetry it can even cause loss of immune system functions, and increase cardiovascular risks. So basically if you don’t wanna end up babysitting a vegetable don’t roll around in the sheets with your family members.😉

      Speaking as someone with this condition, Cerebral Palsy isn’t hereditary, it’s basically a brain injury occurring during or after birth due to various different complications (e.g a bleed on the brain, or lack of oxygen). “Inbreeding” wouldn’t have caused the disability itself, but I’m not sure if it would have had an impact on the development of the foetus or early pregnancy.

      That he was bullied as a child was sad.
      The resentment he felt as an adult is absolutely whiny and ridiculous, especially when he says he enjoyed the fame as a child. Boohoo, his dad stood on his shoulders, and somehow robbed him the ability to make a name for himself? How?!
      He's still free to go make something of himself. The fact of the matter is, like most people, Christopher Robin would likely not have amounted to much beyond being a regular salaryman. His current position of fame actually makes it easier for him to go make something of himself.
      So for me, I guess it is sad, but more because I always thought of Christopher Robin as a sweet person, rather than someone who whines and self-victimizes as an adult.

    I'm not saying Christopher Robin didn't have any troubles, it sounds like he did, but what was so sad about it? He seemed to have a decent life, and aside from bullies/low self esteem (which wasn't made out to be that bad here), his story's not sad. He must have been frustrated of being in his father's shadow, and maybe I just missed something, but I'm not following the video and everyone in the comments saying CR had a sad life. If you thought differently, please enlighten me.

      Jack Eggebrecht Well, he grew up resenting both his parents, and after the death of his father he lost any kind of contact with his mother in the last 15 years of her life, because she didn't want to see him anymore, and had a daughter with cerebral palsy, so while maybe is not the saddest story, is still pretty depressing if you think about it (or atleast it is to me).

    There is more about the bear named Winnipeg. During the First World War, a Canadian soldier from Winnipeg Manitoba, brought the bear cub with him to the war. I think he snuck him in his trunk or something. Anyway, the bear became the mascot of their platoon, but he was forced by the higher ups to donate him to the zoo, because apparently you can’t have a bear in the trenches at Ypres.

    The true story of Winnie the Pooh origins is not tragic at all. Christopher Robinson sounded like he grew up to be a very ungrateful child. His father made him famous and people became envious. He was not a victim of bullies because he fought back. He clearly had no respect for his parents. He got what he deserved.

    It's a damn shame to think that boy got bullied over being the inspiration for the most famous children's cartoon of all time. If those brats were only here today to see what it's turned in to. Several entire generations grew up being entertained by Pooh and his friends. And I don't know why, but when I listen to the song return to Pooh Corner from loggins, it gets me choked up, teary-eyed. I believe it to be the pure love that c.r. experienced alongside his friends and the overwhelming thought that it's only a fairy tale.. children don't get to experience that kind of life, with pooh, eeore and so on. Our imagination is robbed from us at such an early age and all of it, the entire world we create simply vanishes, never to have a trace of its existence, and yet, miraculously captured for all of us to share was c.r.'s adventures, and what a lovely story he's created..

    My heart just broke in two! Yes it's sad and i cringed when Christopher Robin Milne (i had to say his real name so that my childhood memories will not be tainted with shock.) married his 1st cousin. Who wants to marry a cousin?? Or a relative for that matter??
    Anyway, Pooh was one of my childhood. Pooh, Pokemon, Barbie, Disney Princesses, Teen titans (and other things that i forgot about and other things i remembered but is lazy to type all of it.) were my bloody childhood!! And when i saw this video. My heart just broke of how sad and miserable CR Milne is!
    A beautiful book with a shadowy past :(
    If only the people who bullies him would be reversed. They should compliment him for being part of a beautiful and rich book. Heck, maybe the bullies' who bullied CRM read the book but doesn't want to admit it. Or the bullies' great grand kids watched Pooh. Or the bullies are just jealous cause CRM is getting richer and richer everyday!

      it hasn't been a taboo for that long,
      and rather hilariously Christianity is fine with it (it's not on the list of "bad" and is done multiple times)
      marrying your cousin hasn't been a taboo for long
      even today most religious groups allow it, with only laws of the land and recent social changes making it taboo
      it's not particularly uncommon, and emotions tend not to have a built in mechanism of saying relative = bad
      quite the opposite due to similarities if not told it's wrong they'll be faster to fall into enjoyable relationships with

    9:22 you know... there is something a bit.. _Miyazaki_ about the Winnie the Pooh drawings... I have to wonder if Hayao did not grow up on the books (among other things) and developed his animation style from drawings like this (as well as the stories he wrote, as a lot of them revolve around children being the heroes or in the case of Lupin the III or Porco Rosso, they are bit child like in their mannerisms).

      Do the one about Ever after High because the Grimm Brothers are real and Snow White is based on Margert Von Waldek one German Countess of the 16th Centuary and Ever after High says she has a Daughter called Apple White

    I have been a big fan of Winnie The Pooh since I was little. Also, this is how my love of pigs got started.I found this very interesting on how Winnie the Pooh and Christopher Robin came to be. At first I only knew the beginning. Where a boy saw a bear and decided to name him Winnie. That is it. Thank you for this inside look on Winnie The Pooh. I am 25 years old and I am going to go see the live-action Winnie the Pooh in Theatres in August this year

    I loved Winnie the Pooh, my mom would always read the books to me and watch the show with me. He was a big part of my childhood, and now knowing that the real-life Christopher Robin grew up to hate him, idk why, but it's actually kinda heartbreaking...

    Idk who to feel sorry for... The dad who probably did it all for his son or his son for losing out on his childhood 🤔

    • @Sin_Alder
      @Sin_Alder 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      I'm not entirely sure which, myself. I feel bad for both of them, though. I think that the son just wanting a normal childhood thing wasn't as big of a problem (keep in mind, back then the world wasn't so interconnected, so it's not really comparable to a child star in the modern day), and his reaction wasn't entirely fair to the father, but I definitely get why he wouldn't have a good relationship with his mother. As far as the bullying thing, I want to be sympathetic, but if they didn't bully him about the books, they'd bully him about something else. That's just what bullies do, you can take away the thing that they bully you with, but they'll always find new material.

      Almost like the Micheal Jackson scenario. I guess, if something has not been done, you won't know how it feels. Much as we may want to sense ingratitude in Christopher Robbin; it wasn't his fame. He felt like his life has been lived for him and nothing else he ever did will outdo the Christopher Robbin in Winnie the Pooh. U get that feeling? There's always joy in the breakdown of life; working, climbing to fame, nurturing something, watching yourself surge etc. For him, he just not only came by money (which many people would appreciate long as they can use it to grow their own interests), but the entire thing involved his name and dad may not have known the venture will grow to that extent nor understood his aversion
