Hello i just thought of a good What If? to explore. What if Diary Voldemort realized/felt Harry was a Horcrux when Harry went inside his memory to see Hagrid get blamed for Myrtle and reveals it to harry in the final confrontation at the end of the book.
@@myqwesley103like seriously why would they try us by saying the most well known hufflepuff is actually” a Gryffindor at heart” like no he’s a hufflepuff he reps the yellow and black 😒
@ninaronstadt701 I'm a Gryffindor, but I do not think any less of other houses. Like Dumbledore says they all have produced great wizards and have a rich history. (I'm paraphrasing, I don't have the quote in front of me)
This is why I like being a Hufflepuff - no paradoxes, no intense competitive edge, we're just nice everyday people. The worst we got is that Helga had an eating disorder.
So true. Cedric could have won the Triwizard Tournament outright but in the name of fairness, he wanted to share the victory with Harry who had helped him multiple times (telling him about the dragons, fighting off Krum in the maze). We’re not as concerned with being great as we are with being good 😊
I know this is true, and there's nothing wrong with that. But maybe it's the Slytherin in me that makes me want to point out that Hufflepuffs are useless left overs. Badgers indeed, more like wrackspurts.
I would love a video of the Hufflepuff Paradox- because even though it’s better now, I remember that when I first got sorted into Hufflepuff I was disappointed, and it took a while to get my badger pride
Same, if they were to do a Hufflepuff paradox video, I think this would be it. I am also Hufflepuff, and loyalty and dependability as personality traits are kinda boring, so I too was disappointed by my sorting. But upon reflection, those are the traits I value the most personally. As much as I like to think I am courageous, cunning, intelligent, ambitious, etc., what I’d most like to be is trustworthy and loyal.
@ exactly, it’s just that it takes a while to figure that out. Especially when there isn’t much interest in Hufflepuff in the books besides Cedric, and it’s the only common room we don’t visit.
Agreed! Hufflepuffs have the reputation of being so kind, the greatest of friends now, but back in the day they were kinda thought of as "all the rest" which is a line from a sorting hat song and it took a while for a strong identity to grow there. Cedric is the bastion of goodness though so that helps a lot! I'm Ravenclaw but now I think of them as a bit distant and competitive in academics , wish I was more Hufflepuff (maybe I would be by now!)
This is so true! As a Gryffindor, I always had to specify that I am actually a Gryffindor and not just because they're the main characters. I value bravery and courage in all forms, am protective, and abhor cowardice. I'm glad you think it is better now. 😊
Hey, I’m a “young” Harry Potter fan (18 yrs old) and I grew up watching the movies and I only read the books when I was 16, of course I fell in love with the Harry Potter series all over again, watched the fantastic beasts movies and watched your videos whenever I could. I took the sorting test and I got Gryffindor, I felt like it was pretty basic and was a little disappointed. But then, when I was 17 life got real for me, I had an infection on my heart and I had to spend around 3 and a half months in hospital and have heart surgery. Around a year later, last august my liver ruptured due to a piece of the infection from my heart infection being inside my liver like a time bomb, I had more surgeries, and spent a very hellish month and a half in hospital again. At the risk of sounding self congratulatory, I feel like I’ve shown courage and bravery and determination even when things seemed very bleak. All this to say, after what my life has been since the end of 2023, basic or not, I’m proud to be a Gryffindor, as it is a reminder that I am brave and I am courageous when I work through my ptsd.
I feel so validated by this video, I was sorted into Gryffindor when Pottermore came out and thought it was wrong because I didn’t want to be called “basic” but honestly as I’ve gotten older I’ve realized how much I’ve grown into my Gryffindor-ness and I love it now, just took a while❤️
The house does not matter, emotional support is required by all, including Gryffindors. Thank you Hufflepuffs for the honest, hard-working, encouraging ethics. Thanks to the Slytherins who put all things to the test through their ambition and willingness to see how far something goes, no matter the cost. And to the Ravenclaws who understand matters better than most.
Ha! Agreed! I’m a hufflepuff, my future hubby is a slytherin. We seriously complete each other and keep each other grounded in the areas where we need help.
Apparently Americans don’t know that most English schools have houses. My school has Bigg, Matilda, Blackstone, and Christie. They’re normally named after the founders or historical figures.
A lot of American schools divide students into houses as well. It's a pretty common teaching technique called "teaming". It allows the school to both use students competitive nature to motivate them and divide students by learning style so that you can apply certain teaching strategies to the students they will help the most.
@@GeroldGarthcia My Middle School did teams, but it was hardly something we (or at least I) thought of. I even swapped teams early on because one of the teachers put my sister through misery. Afaik it was just to make it easier to get everyone where they need to be and was mostly competitive during "fun" rallies and had nothing to do with learning style, but it's been a long time, and I didn't care at the time.
Ravenclaw multi-time book reader, audiobook listener, and movie watcher. 😌 “Wit beyond measure is man's greatest treasure". Well, that and a couple TH-cam channels that keep the vibe going.
Ngl everytime i see a supercarling i cringe so hard seeing the constant better help ads. I still like the channel and no real hate meant. Just a bit disappointing ngl
Yeah they’ve gotta be making enough from the channel views and their coffee brand that they don’t need sponsors anymore… I would hope they’re just trying to help people over being greedy.. but who knows..
@@jamiebaker8017it's also weird that they have multiple sponsors per video; that seems rather uncommon in the ecosphere i'm glad they don't do honey ads after what went down, but since better help has been exposed for quite a while, i also wish they atleast ditched them as a sponsor & maybe made a statement
Not sure what house he’s in yet since he’s still just one, but if we’re talking about a mirror, my son also named Luke spent his first 10 days in the NICU. It’s definitely made him brave. Thank you for being willing to share that part of you. Also, doubling down that was a great channel to find during late night bottle feeds this last year
So basically. The only “good” house back when the site started was ravenclaw? And that was a “no duh, we are all nerds.” Griffindor was viewed as the “plain” option and that you were trying too hard and only had a surface level understanding. Hufflepuff was viewed as the “nothing of note” house. And of course, Sytherin being the “rude and evil” house.
Slight correction here, Slytherin was viewed as the house of "you have some undisclosed kink for Malfoy and/ or Snape, and you might need to work through it". Never once I saw anyone seeing Slytherin as the house of "rude and evil" outside of direct book/ movie discussions and SCB videos. It was always either the "Oh cool, you are actually a bit special" or "C'mon, just admit it already- you have a crush on Draco" kind of house. Not actually evil, but more Myspace branded goth. And yeah, Gryffindor ironically was the "basic vanilla" house. It's essentially the house of the casual fans, and the try-hard hardcore fans that believe it to be the best house as it's the house of the golden Trio. Rather Ironically being the opposite of Slytherin, as the default house for all "good guy" HP fans and no further flavor beyond it.
@@myqwesley103that is kinda the point of this series they are doing. Did you misread my comment? The viewpoint was originally that there was something shameful about each of the houses for example Slitherins being rude, griffindor being fake fans, and hufflepuff being the leftovers. That is the *false* narrative the has died down but was around.
I remember not saying that I'm a gryffindor to new people who I met that liked Harry Potter because I was afraid they would dismiss my love for this world!!! Like they would think I didn't read the books or something, and I was desperate for friends who liked Harry Potter... Now I love being a gryffindor, I'm proud of my house!

Two years ago tomorrow, on my daughter’s 6th birthday, we went to Harry Potter World at universal studios in Florida. She was chosen to select her wand. I felt bad for the other kids but obviously I was ecstatic for my little girl. She loves Hermoine. She is definitely in the mold of a Gryffindor and this Slytherin dad couldn’t have been happier.
The part about small everyday braveries got me a little emotional. Reading HP to my kids has been one of the best experiences and we’re always thinking about what houses we’re in. My eight-year-old is without a doubt a Slytherin; I imagine the Sorting Hat shouting it out before it even hits his head, like with Malfoy. He’s so crafty and cunning and always finding loopholes or tricks to get his way. My five-year-old is less obvious but still, I think, a Hufflepuff: she’s incredibly caring and helpful and just plain sweet. It’s especially interesting that they’d go those routes since I’m a Slytherin and my husband is a Hufflepuff!
I mean, the “James Potter is the perfect representation of an actual Gryffindor” is so true that, in the books, Harry acts an awful out like him. He doesn’t get as far as being a bully, but he’s straight out arrogant, hot-headed, sarcastic… It really does fit the jock-archetype.
Ive always known i was a Gryffindor. And I hated when people acused us of being fake fans. I just know my personality traits resonate strongly with Gryffindor than any other of the 4 houses. I hadn't even attempted to sort my own kids yet since they are little and their personality isn't developed enough. However my 4 year old was diagnosed with leukemia almost a month ago and here we are, at the hospital fighting cancer and I see him scared but still doing everything doctors tell him to do and there is no doubt in my mind, he is a little Gryffindor himself ❤
I'm a Griffinclaw. I've been sorted several times, and I've been equally sorted into Griffindor and Ravenclaw. On the Harry Potter website (pick a name), I was sorted twice and got Ravenclaw the first time and Griffindor the second. I started reading the books with my youngest nephew. I have no clue what house he's in. I got way more into the fandom than he did.
My son is 8 years old we are reading HP for the first time, and his first name is Griffin, …. so you can imagine which house is his favorite. (And, no, his name had nothing to do with loving HP. I have just love it as a first name since long before HP was written.)
Unrelated, but has anyone else noticed that SCB no longer has much variety in their content? It used to be an almost even mix of Harry Potter, Pixar, and Star Wars, with the occasional Disney and Hunger Games. But now, while they sometimes cover other stuff, 95% of it is Harry Potter.
it's pretty likely that's the content that gets viewed the most on their channel. and I doubt they're that upset about it, they seem like they absolutely love talking about Harry Potter. I would too
I love all five of those topics, but Hunger Games felt more like a short-term thing to promote Ballad and Star Wars is so controversial now that I don't blame them for not stirring the pot. Disney and Pixar are still pretty occasional, though, mainly whenever a new movie comes out.
I think it boils down to the fact that HP stuff tends to bring in the viewers, look at most their videos and the HP stuff typically does 50% more than almost anything else. So they know their audience is here mostly for HP stuff. There's also the fact the HP universe has tons of points in it's overarching story and history where you can concoct theories and what ifs about while other series just don't have the material to pull from. Take Hunger Games as an example, it has less than half the books (and movies) to pull from AND most of what the reader learns is information about the present day HG universe with very little real lore about other locations or the past that's useful for what ifs and theories. In the case of HG the source is limited and they've already tapped pretty much all the biggest things they can out of it. You aren't going to be able to get a 10 part "what if Katniss was in district 1" story like you can from HP.
Bravo! Great video. You had me tearing up. My 5 year old niece is a Slytherin. She’s a little blonde “whiskey in a teacup” kind of girl. She loves snakes and her favourite colour is black. I love it.
@@nicolerobertson2654 How long can the contract be? These ads have been running for over a year. At some point you have to look at the people signing the deal.
I always thought that the courage of gryffindor was expressed in choosing gryffindor. Slytherin is ambition, Ravenclaw is Wisdom, hufflepuff is reliability. Harry is ambitious, Hermione is Wise, Ron is Reliable. Every gryffidor fits in another house, but they all chose to follow their own path and that path was gryffindor.
@lukeroberson2115 ah no wonder i missed it. Ironically though, it's it really contradictory since he tried to assert his choice and desire? Ironically it he didn't fight it he certainty would've been.
My seven year old read and listened to all the books, and as a reward we took him to Universal Studios Hollywood. If you go to a certain place there you can get sorted (it's not advertised and not on the map but not too hard to find). He got sorted into Hufflepuff and was super excited about it. Personally I think he's more Ravenclaw, but he was super excited. We got the Hufflepuff robes for him and he still loves them! It's been really fun for my wife and I to watch him. We were both the kids that always hauled around the latest Harry Potter book all throughout elementary school. We met in middle school and went to see the movies together as they were coming out. To see our son become a fan has been so much fun!
The fun fact is, I’m a casual fan; but I got sorted into Ravenclaw, which back then, I did like, but I wanted to be with Gryffindor for the obvious reasons. Now, years after only watching the movies & these kind of videos; I’ve learn to appreciate all houses and their values. To which I’d say, I’m proud to be a Ravenclaw.
Been a fan of the series since my dad got us the first 4 books in the bookset. It's the series that got me to not just read, but to be invested in what I was reading. Always felt like a Gryffindor because I always had the courage to stand up for others, even as a kid. I felt a sense of responsibility to do good and help others and was passionate enough to not fear getting my hands dirty to ensure the well-being of humanity. As I've aged, I've towed the line between Gryffindor and Hufflepuff (my tests have also proven as such too) and I believe my fierce loyalty is moreover what allows me to be so brave with my passion for justice. Now if only I applied these traits to my career, I'd probably be a legal advocate of some sort, but no.. I turned into Percy (but hopefully less of a git), and am paid to worry about things like hazmat packaging (cauldron bottom thickness) and that they're shipped within the regulation.😅 I'm proud to be both, a Gryffindor, and a Hufflepuff and am brave enough to shut any gatekeeper up with my knowledge on the subject of Harry Potter... So maybe there's a bit of Ravenclaw there too.😊 We're all a combination of all the houses; and at any time, we can project the values of each of them.
I went to the platform 9 3/4 store at Kings Cross station back in 2019 with my mom, and I had such an emotional breakdown that I was walking in while crying out of happiness
Hey J! I completely agree with your son being a Gryffindor. My son was born 15 weeks early and was in the NICU for 16 weeks, so as a HP fan I definitely sorted him into Gryffindor as well!
I’ve started my girls (6 and 9) reading the books. My 9 yr old is loving them and it has gotten me into them again! I watched the movies and then read the books. Rereading the books with her has been fun!
Oof, J, you got me in the feels talking about the fandom growing up and having our own kids, the feelings involved with sharing it with them. I'm a generation older than you (HP was my little brother's thing), so I didn't read them until my second daughter was born. The HP books were what I read when I was up with her in the middle of the night nursing and sleep deprived. I read about Harry's parents being killed in front of him while holding my infant daughter (Say what you will about the flaws in Cursed Child, but the scene at the end when the moment of the Potter's murder is reenacted through adult Harry's eyes absolutely wrecked me and my kid, ohmygod 😭. So powerfully acted and directed). In those delirious first few months, taking in these stories alongside my baby, they got into my psyche in a way that is different, but no less potent, than if I'd read them as a child. So when my kid was just barely old enough for me to begin reading her the series it was quite a moment. I was proud of her when she chose Gryffindor as her house early on (I'm a solid Huffle-Claw) and as she's grown into a courageous teenager, I know it was an authentic choice.
I'm a Huffle-claw as well. I even took a test for the hybrid house (not sponsored by Wizarding World). Depends on my mood as to whether I'm a Huffle-claw or a Raven-Puff.
Love this as Being in Gryffindor since I first took the test as a kid and have retaken it several times as I grew up to an adult, it always felt like I had to justify that “yes I am brave”
I was sorted into Gryffindor when pottermore first came out and was so excited, even though at the time I hadn’t fully read the books yet. My sister and mum got sorted into Hufflepuff and I immediately got judged for my sorting! But I’ve realised years later even after reading to books multiple times I do feel like a Gryffindor, no other house feels right to me!
I think this is absolutely true. I also think this is why Harry is almost no one's favorite character. It's such an easy answer, but no one ever seems to choose him.
See right here is the reason why I'm a Huffleclaw. I may be an intellectual always trying to learn something new about whatever I want to but I value my friends and my loyalty to them more than anything in the world.
Thank you for saying there are real Gryffindors out here! I read the books every year and I am one of those 25% who really likes HP and not just based on childhood and movies...It takes a lot of courage to do a lot of smaller things in day-to-day life and even if it's for 5 points I am a Proud Gryffindor!
Proud Gryffindor! 🦁 and lifelong Harrry Potter fan. From a very young age, I loved comic books and superheroes; so I always grew up with ideals around courage, honor, and heroism. At 14, I found out I had a congenital heart condition and that there was a probability for death from my condition. Over the next few years of my life I had to go to cardiologists and specialists every month to monitor what was happening to me. I finally had to have open heart surgery to correct the condition when I was 26. Throughout the whole ordeal, my parents said they never saw me worry, complain, or cry. They said I showed so much bravery in the face of my situation. So, yes. When I got sorted in Gryffindor; it was the house I wanted and the house that I truly believed that I belonged in. 🔴
I was a beta tester for the original pottermore website in like 2010 and I got sorted into Hufflepuff and I was bummed. But I started to own it with my friends and it became something I value! As I’ve grown, I realized that loyalty and hardwork are great qualities to have even if they are underrated sometimes
I have some what if ideas 1 what if hermione was in ravenclaw 2 what if Harry was reborn with all of his memories 3 what if the dursleys loved Harry 4 what if Qui Gon Trained Anakin instead of Obi Wan 5 what if only Cedric touched the cup 6 what if Remus Lupin raised Harry 7 what if The Potters survived
My family took the Pottermore quizzes and we were perfectly split - my mum got Ravenclaw, my dad Slytherin, my brother Hufflepuff and of course I got Gryffindor. At first, I was a bit miffed that I got the "basic" house. I then binged the movies over that weekend and spent like a week watching random lore videos and remembered that Gryffindor is AWESOME.
I have only ever been sorted into Gryffindor on Pottermore/ Wizarding World. Sometimes I think it would be cool to be in another house, but it is clearly just how I lean values wise 🤷♂️
@@jamessmithson-br7rmI think that would do more harm than good, people would start to question if they really belonged in the house they got if they realised that they were fairly close to being sorted elsewhere. It’s a huge thing Harry needs to battle with due to the hat telling him he would do well in Slytherin
As a 25 year old, lifelong Harry Potter fan and gryffindor. I’m very glad that people finally don’t say I’m basic and I don’t have to prove that I know more than them 😂
Phew, I wasn't expecting to cry while watching this video but here I am. J talking about buying L his first set of HP books & why he chose Gryffindor House hit me right in the feels. (I'm happily Hufflepuff)
Guys can you please stop using AI for your thumbnails? It seems very hypocritical to rally behind personal crafted theories that are fleshed out and make narrative sense but think it's fine to use ai images to not use an editor or an illustrator That's on top of the ecological implications ai has Also sheesh for better help
Not everyone agrees AI is bad (though, yeah, especially for a group doing as well as SCB seems to be), but what makes you think it _is_ AI? It could be, but nothing about it screams AI to me on close inspection. I'm just real tired of people assuming pics are AI that aren't, imagine how the artist must feel when that happens.
@@TristenSarelvun I work with AI so I do agree with that not all AI is bad Generative AI is the one I have issue with, specifically for image, video or text generation though a lot of people don't know the difference If you look into it, gen ai has the same vibe on their images, usually super shiny and/or overly saturated with a weird composition, in the thumbnail the lion is too close to the image, also the lion itself is...weird, I do not know how to describe it but it's proportions do not look real imo Look at the thumnail of the Harry and Cho video (two vids before this one) and that also looks like AI, the rest of the most recent videos are edited images that already exist, that is why I assume it's AI, SCB does not use these types of "illustrations" on their thumbnails so its a pattern breaker which strengthens my believe that it is AI If this is truly drawn or made by someone real I would like to think that they would be credited in the description which they are not, specially since (again) they usually do not use these type of thumbnails
I was 30 or so when Harry Potter came out, and I started reading it. I went to buy each newest book the night it came out, but I didn't go through all this stuff because I was already an adult.
@maxxximum_productions they're a shady company. They were investigated by the FTC, who determined that they shared metadata (including attributes of users) with 3rd parties, despite their privacy policy suggesting this data would remain confidential. I've also heard about a lack of professionalism and accountability for therapists (which apparently has been addressed somewhat by making it possible for users to see credentials, but there is still a lack of oversight to make sure therapists are attending sessions/performing well). I also don't support the company because it offered free therapy to Israelis and was promoted by the national X page, but I understand that would not be a reason for everyone given how divisive the issue is.
@@maxxximum_productions Short answer: History of putting customers in touch with unqualified hacks and selling their personal data, including medical information, without the knowledge or consent of those users. They've gotten into legal trouble over it and everything.
Considering what's happened to D&D, WarHammer 40K, comics, anime, video games, and Magic the Gathering, we should gatekeep pur fandoms. Look at what happened to those IPs.
My kid is 2 1/2. He loves helping around the house, making pancakes, making messes, cleaning messes. I am absolutely certain that child is a Hufflepuff at his core. I am Ravenclaw, his mother is Slytherin.
This is exactly what I asked for. I’m a Gryffindor. I’ve taken the Wizarding World test twice, Gryffindor, along with over a dozen video quizzes. Almost all Gryffindor. And it does feel odd to be in THE house and have hardly anyone else with me. I’m not a jock, in fact I don’t like sports, but I want to believe I would like Quidditch. I do value chivalry. Treating others with respect is important, even when you don’t like them. I value bravery because I am afraid of several things. There’s nothing more terrifying to me than jumping off a high place into water. But to be brave is to be afraid and stand strong in the face of fear anyway.
When I first done the sorting I was in ravenclaw but many years later I decide to retake it and I became a gryffindor, not just because I wanted to be in the same house as the golden trio but it's more aligned to what I am as a person. I do thank you for telling me this paradox because now I appreciate the house that I'm in from before and after Harry's time in Hogwarts
I'm a proud Slytherin, while my husband is a Hufflepuff. Our 2 kids are Hufflepuff (12M) and Ravenclaw (6F). I couldn't be prouder of either of them. I find that, as a mom, the one trait I always hope for tends to be associated with Hufflepuff most: Kindness. Though, we come from a line of people who have gone into public service roles-- firefighters, nurses, police, and now 911 operators.
As one who’s always been a Gryffindor (Pottermore Verified✅) I’ve proudly defended my House against those in the fandom who would call it basic. Thanks for this video! All my Lions stand proud!
In a world where it is getting increasingly hard to smile I’m proud to face it like a Griffindor by getting out of bed and putting on a brave face, sharing kindness, and standing up for my chosen family. I’m so glad that it’s not as taboo to be a griffindor anymore and hope to be the shining example that Harry was to me, to my nieces, cousins, siblings, friends, and strangers.
Reading all the other comments about parents of griffindor babies who were in the NICU solidified my headcannon that going through the nicu is a rite of passage for us lol
Interestingly, while I have considered myself a Ravenclaw for a long time, I recently realised that, at different points of my life, I might have fit in at each of the four houses. I never really cared about which one is the "cool" house, though, just which one fits my personality and values, which is actually the point.
There was also a phase (at least on Tumblr) where we all identified with a “secondary house.”So I was a Gryffinclaw, which was like more sophisticated than just being a Gryffindor. The 2010s were weird.
I can attest to the end of the video 100%. proud ravenclaw here; we had our son choose his house on his first birthday. very happy that he grabbed the ravenclaw shirt lol
I was surprised to be sorted into Gryffindor back in the day but then I remembered that it doesn't always have to be the charateristics you hold but ones you admire on others or strive to be like? I think I have always wanted to be braver and more outgoing. Sometimes I think I'm a Ravenclaw but I don't know!
My spouse and I are big into puzzle hunts and saying quotes from our favorite movies and books, so the choice of Ravenclaw was clear. For the kids, it was less clear, but after reading the books to them at around age 6-8, we discussed their traits, and they came to the decision that Hufflepuff was their home (fierce friends that they are). The younger has bounced around a bit and claimed Slytherin and Ravenclaw at various points. We’ll see.
I was sorted into Ravenclaw from the beginning, but as I've re-taken the quiz as I've gotten older and landed more in who I am as a person I end up in Slytherin. Which was weird for me as I've considered myself a die-hard Ravenclaw for many years. But with more time I've come to realize that Slytherin makes more sense for me. When it comes down to it, I'm basically a Slytherclaw, somewhere in between but more leaning towards Slytherin.
Ive always thought of myself as a Hufflepuff/Gryffindor mix, as i can be shy but i also can step up when needed (such as standing up to my numerous bullies growing up). Now, though, I see myself more as Gryffindor/Slytherin mix, as I still step up in what some would call a brave fashion but i am also highly capable of being sneaky and cunning when i want
I fell into the old mindset trap when I had my fiancé take the quiz, expecting him to be a Ravenclaw because he’s so book smart and is really into world history and chess, but he doesn’t read books for fun and was sorted into Hufflepuff instead. When I was surprised he asked why and I asked him how important loyalty was to him and he said “very, it’s the most important”. I love these videos, I am so tired of having to explain what it means to be a Slytherin to someone who recoils when they hear my house. And I love that we’re gaining a much more secular understanding of the house traits too; it isn’t necessarily that you possess extreme ambition or bravery, but maybe it’s something you value strongly in others as well and those are the people you choose to surround yourself with. As a Slytherin I don’t feel especially ambitious, but I can’t stand when I have people close to me that just accept defeat or have no drive to work to make something more happen for themselves. It’s funny how the traits manifest differently in people
Thank you for the video. I went to Pottermore hoping for Ravenclaw, ended up with Gryffindor... I still feel the pervasive "only in Gryffindor because its the 'main house'/casual fan" judgement

We’re not as concerned with being great as we are with being good 😊
Hufflepuff ftw
People aren’t cartoons. Hufflepuffs can absolutely be bad people and bullies.
I know this is true, and there's nothing wrong with that. But maybe it's the Slytherin in me that makes me want to point out that Hufflepuffs are useless left overs. Badgers indeed, more like wrackspurts.
I feel like the sorting hat would be proud of you J, a Slytherin choosing Griffindor as the house for his son would bring a tear to that old hats eyes
Proud Ravenclaw!

Our common room in Hogwarts Legacy is also really cool.
I'm Ravenclaw but now I think of them as a bit distant and competitive in academics , wish I was more Hufflepuff (maybe I would be by now!)
from leftovers to everyone's bestie
Same man, glad we've all grown into the yellow and black
All this to say, after what my life has been since the end of 2023, basic or not, I’m proud to be a Gryffindor, as it is a reminder that I am brave and I am courageous when I work through my ptsd.
i'm so proud of you, brave stranger.
just know that good and god, both are on your side❤
Fight on @Lgard129. It might be nice to think that Ravenclaws performed the surgeries, and Hufflepuffs took care of you.
I'm sorry you went through that. But I'm glad you survived and found your strength.
God bless you sir. I wish you a happy, healthy life for the rest of your days.
I feel so validated by this video, I was sorted into Gryffindor when Pottermore came out and thought it was wrong because I didn’t want to be called “basic” but honestly as I’ve gotten older I’ve realized how much I’ve grown into my Gryffindor-ness and I love it now, just took a while❤️
Every Slytherin needs their emotional support Hufflepuff
Fellow Slytherin here - I'll second this!

Apparently Americans don’t know that most English schools have houses. My school has Bigg, Matilda, Blackstone, and Christie. They’re normally named after the founders or historical figures.
Thanks for the info
There’s a private school in Southern Atlanta that has houses, but they aren’t a big deal there. Most people probably forget they even HAVE houses.
Same in Australia. Mine are Lewis, Taylor, Chisholm, and Graham, because it's a Christian school.

So basically. The only “good” house back when the site started was ravenclaw? And that was a “no duh, we are all nerds.”
Griffindor was viewed as the “plain” option and that you were trying too hard and only had a surface level understanding.
@@viktoria_pikovsky My Aunt is very set on the Slytherin is Evil mindset, no matter what I say, nothing convinces her otherwise.

@@SuperCarlinBrothersSunday…. Brilliant!! Let’s goooooo… 🤣
Please don't work with BetterHelp
I have a therapist friend who says they are not good to their contracted therapists. 😢
You think they'll read this comment?? You think they to care?? By being sponsored by Better Help these to POS showed their true colours.
The way Harry stood by Stan Shunpike was the best
I think I always knew I'd have been in Ravenclaw. Every time I've tested, I end up in Ravenclaw.
Same here. I would have sorted like Draco. Before the hat even touched my head, it would have shouted out, "Ravenclaw!"
Would love to see the Hufflepuff Paradox next! 💛🖤
I mean, the “James Potter is the perfect representation of an actual Gryffindor” is so true that, in the books, Harry acts an awful out like him.
He doesn’t get as far as being a bully, but he’s straight out arrogant, hot-headed, sarcastic…
It really does fit the jock-archetype.
By that logic I'm a Slytherdor. Or a Griffinin. Nah, Slytherdor.
I had a similiar experience with Pottermore, did you get to choose Gryffindor or Ravenclaw at the end?
@@GamingRabbit17 I ended up in Ravenclaw. I chose that one because everyone seemed to be in Griffindor, and I like to follow my own path. 😀
proud Ravenclaw from the beginning... wish the other three houses got as much love...
I have noticed this.
I had noticed. I have no problem with this.
it's pretty likely that's the content that gets viewed the most on their channel. and I doubt they're that upset about it, they seem like they absolutely love talking about Harry Potter. I would too
I love all five of those topics, but Hunger Games felt more like a short-term thing to promote Ballad and Star Wars is so controversial now that I don't blame them for not stirring the pot.
I love it.
I think the fact they still ride with Better Help tells you a lot about their character as creators.
I've heard people suggest that it's a contractual obligation and they can't drop it.
@@coolnerdlll6053 I've wondered about that, but how long can that contract be? These ads go back a long way now.

The issue is Neville, who asked the hat for Hufflepuff, but the hat insisted on Gryffindor.
@lukeroberson2115 never heard that before

Bring back the sims series 😢😢😢
The fun fact is, I’m a casual fan; but I got sorted into Ravenclaw, which back then, I did like, but I wanted to be with Gryffindor for the obvious reasons.
Now, years after only watching the movies & these kind of videos; I’ve learn to appreciate all houses and their values.
To which I’d say, I’m proud to be a Ravenclaw.
13:50 In year 2027 to year 2080 I want my Children to be in Slytherin ,or Hufflepuff.
I turned into Percy (but hopefully less of a git), and am paid to worry about things like hazmat packaging (cauldron bottom thickness) and that they're shipped within the regulation.😅
I'm proud to be both, a Gryffindor, and a Hufflepuff and am brave enough to shut any gatekeeper up with my knowledge on the subject of Harry Potter... So maybe there's a bit of Ravenclaw there too.😊
We're all a combination of all the houses; and at any time, we can project the values of each of them.
"Oh young me, you were so young." Killed me 😭✋
I went to the platform 9 3/4 store at Kings Cross station back in 2019 with my mom, and I had such an emotional breakdown that I was walking in while crying out of happiness

That vlog episode was so impactful. For a first time father, those moments are huge. Great memories there J!
Personally, i think the school always has a high death count each year and it's mostly Gryffindors being too courageous 😂😂
@equinoxalchemist Yup, proud Huffle-Claw over here too!

Guys can you please stop using AI for your thumbnails?
It seems very hypocritical to rally behind personal crafted theories that are fleshed out and make narrative sense but think it's fine to use ai images to not use an editor or an illustrator
That's on top of the ecological implications ai has
Also sheesh for better help
Not everyone agrees AI is bad (though, yeah, especially for a group doing as well as SCB seems to be), but what makes you think it _is_ AI? It could be, but nothing about it screams AI to me on close inspection. I'm just real tired of people assuming pics are AI that aren't, imagine how the artist must feel when that happens.
@@TristenSarelvun I work with AI so I do agree with that not all AI is bad
Generative AI is the one I have issue with, specifically for image, video or text generation though a lot of people don't know the difference
If you look into it, gen ai has the same vibe on their images, usually super shiny and/or overly saturated with a weird composition, in the thumbnail the lion is too close to the image, also the lion itself is...weird, I do not know how to describe it but it's proportions do not look real imo
Look at the thumnail of the Harry and Cho video (two vids before this one) and that also looks like AI, the rest of the most recent videos are edited images that already exist, that is why I assume it's AI, SCB does not use these types of "illustrations" on their thumbnails so its a pattern breaker which strengthens my believe that it is AI
If this is truly drawn or made by someone real I would like to think that they would be credited in the description which they are not, specially since (again) they usually do not use these type of thumbnails
I was 30 or so when Harry Potter came out, and I started reading it. I went to buy each newest book the night it came out, but I didn't go through all this stuff because I was already an adult.

Methods of Rationality dealt with this very well. Gryffindor is the house of the jocks and bullies.
Gawd that scene with Hagrid carrying Harry dead hits so different now that I've had my own son
I'm a hat stall between Gryffindor and Ravenclaw I usually go with Gryffindor but love both!❤ thanks guys!
I am so obsessed with all of your videos I love you guys keep going 😁❤
Ravenclaw has always drawn me the most, and I would hope I would be found 'worthy' enough to be sorted there...
Amen! I've been a proud Gryffindor through the ups and downs and I'm happy to see it not so misrepresented anymore
I very much don’t mind the fact I’ve never been sorted into Gryffindor. I’m a proud Ravenpuff 🦅🦡
It’s funny how the traits manifest differently in people
The Gryfindor paradox. Being neither a Griffin nor a door
Thank you for the video. I went to Pottermore hoping for Ravenclaw, ended up with Gryffindor...
I still feel the pervasive "only in Gryffindor because its the 'main house'/casual fan" judgement
