    I much prefer this kind of real world test by someone that hasn't a clue, not in a disrespectful way but as a beginner.. After all, I presume most watching this vid are beginners.. So basically he is showing exactly I how would use the Mavic without no real understanding... Giving me an insight what to watch out for through the hazzards he was encountering.. Better than watching a vid that shows the intelligent flight modes like a hollywood production.. Thanks for posting.. Subscribed and liked.. Even clicked the bell.. Oh yeah.. was very entertaining to watch also.

    thanks for vid - weather has been a ***** for me and I just can't play with the dam thing to learn - watching videos (like yours) helps me get a little better handle on it, so when that orange thing above the clouds & rain actually does show itself again, I may spend less time 'learn' and more time creating.

    How do you change it to feet instead of meters

    • @ChrisRollins
      @ChrisRollins  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      in the DJI Go 4 app, click on "enter device". then click the top right on your screen, (you'll see the 3 dots)... that should be "general settings". then at the top of the menu it says "measurement units", there you can select imperial or metric! hope that helps

    Hey man will you try to land it in the back of the truck again but this time instead of flying it forward, fly it backwards? I bet this will help since it doesn't any sensors on the back and it won't be disorienting because the controls won't be inverted for left and right.

  • @stasiszx10r57
    @stasiszx10r57 7 ปีที่แล้ว +30

    Next time you try this put the Mavic in wifi mode and you don't need the bring the controller just your iPhone makes it a little easier plus you still have full control of the Mavic of you need to take control

  • @neighborsgoat
    @neighborsgoat 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    You know what's really amazing about this? In Active Track - as proven in your clip - one does not even have to wear colored cloths (meaning colored differently from the background!). Mavic manages to keep you on track even if your clothes' colour are the same with the surrounding background!

  • @outdoorswithlarryrobin
    @outdoorswithlarryrobin 6 ปีที่แล้ว

    That seems to be my problem, can not figure out how to get the drone to P mode

    • @ChrisRollins
      @ChrisRollins  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      there is a switch on the right side of your controller that says "sport". it should be toggled to the left (towards you hand). thats "P mode"

  • @SeanOzz
    @SeanOzz 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    What phone are you using during that gps follow go? I've got an iPhone 7 plus and the mavic will not detect it for that or to make my controller the rth point. (Which sucks when your on a boat)

    • @ChrisRollins
      @ChrisRollins  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have the iPhone 6s plus. when you're on the boat do you have cell signal?

    • @SeanOzz
      @SeanOzz 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      hmm, yep it has signal. i am gonna have to look into this more. the follow me mode was a feature i used on my older blade chroma. comes in handy when you are going under trees. however you could still chose to have the camera point at the controller or in a set point like it did for the mavic in your video.
      if i figure out why my phone is not working with the gps lock in i'll come back and share the info.

    • @neighborsgoat
      @neighborsgoat 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I've heard that the iPhone 7 and 7+ with the Intel chip set is not compatible with the Follow Me function. The ones with the Qualcomm chip are apparently not affected by this.

    • @SeanOzz
      @SeanOzz 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

  • @VicOliveir
    @VicOliveir 7 ปีที่แล้ว

    Very good demonstration of the flight modes. It would have been cool to see it utilizing obstacle avoidance if you would have continued into that area with trees. Also which model gopro are you using, and what is the name of that harness? Keep up the good work!!

    Very cool tutorial I definitely subscribed!! One question how do set the active track to follow you in reverse?? I've been trying it on my Mavic and it did it once but I can't seem to do it again.

    • @ChrisRollins
      @ChrisRollins  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +RonsWorldMiami if you doible check your sensor settings. Theres a setting that says "allow mavic to fly backwards during active track", or something of that nature. Be sure thats enabled
