IMO Nippy is great for the story. It's Jimmy putting his foot down and not being scared (Like when he hung up on the vacuum guy). He thinks he can turn into saul again and prove he is smarter than everyone. It also features one of the best montages in the whole show. Copper seems to do that thing that people do where they make their own story in their head and get mad when it doesn't happen, he even mentions the showrunners had their own plan for a while. He's basically mad that his personal expectations were not met.
This video is perfect in its pacing, choice of clips, and flow between each ranking (not to mention the script as tight as Lydia's coochie). Easily your best video since the video editing software tier list.
This comment is one of EpicJackman’s greatest works. Organically minimalist with classical Cunkesqe accents culminating in a liminal depiction of the stillness of modern life contrasted against the obdurate movement of time. I see this as a transitional piece to his continuing oeuvre.
1. Saul Gone 2. Plan and Execution 3. Chicanery 4. Waterworks 5. Bad Choice Road 6. Wexler V. Goodman 7. Fun and Games 8. Nippy (don’t judge me) 9. Bagman 10. Lantern
This video is way way better than the other that just plainly summarizes the series and each episode in a very deadpan format. I really like how much you have to say on each episode, it gives a very good reason to watch this other than just reading a Wikipedia article. Great work
I actually really love Nippy but if I had any complaint about it I think it’s just the placement of the episode, I guarantee if it was instead the first episode of the season it would’ve been received way better and I think the ending of Nippy would’ve been a bit more impactful. It definitely still works with where it is, but I can’t lie and say I think it was best for the episode.
Disagree cos it would’ve been really fucking random. I think they should’ve made the heist more serious tho. And Jeff more serious. It’d be nice of them to have another episode where we saw Saul as Saul in addition to it, before or after nippy. Maybe cut in between the two scene by scene etc. idk
22:25 Jimmy was trying to get Chuck's insurance screwed here. He was faking wanting his insurance back to get back at Chuck. Also I loved the Emmy joke (he seriously deserves so many more awards than he got).
At first I was like: "Wait, what happened? Why Bob started to act so shitty in this scene?". And then, when they revealed that Bob was playing Jimmy, who is overacting on purpose to screw Chuck, I was blown away
Very solid summary, i have to show some love for this video, im not 100% agree with the ranking but it's always pleased to hear some different opinions, after all it's still a well made video, thanks :)
So happy you put Winner as 1. IMO The kareoke scene is the greatest scene of the entire show. It makes me weep everytime I watch it. Oh, what could have been...
I love this video. I’ve watched it or listened to it now for at least 40 times. I agree with all of your opinions, and your sense of humor is actually gold. The pace is perfect and your deadpan comedy is brilliant. Just wanted to say how much i appreciate your work
Although I disagree with some of the middle rankings, Winner is probably my favorite epiaode of the whole show. It may not have a singular moment as powerful as Howard dying for example, but the entire thing is so cohesive and packed full of brilliant interactions. It also is the best way to end the arc of Jimmy and truly set up Lalo as a massive threat (he had shown up before, but this was the moment everyone realized how massive of a threat he was) also the iconic ending.
imo Winner is the perfect better call Saul episode and if I had to show someone a single episode of the show to help them understand the themes and character arcs it would be Winner
Bro, your top 3 is just peak. Fun and Games and Winner were always super underrated and you just took and placed them on top three. Eternal respect. I also loved that you didn't put Alpine Shepherd Boy into 10 worst or so, at least someone understands the genius of the sex toilet. Many people put episodes like Bagman and Point and Shoot at their top 5, but you're just better. Putting Saul Gone at 6 place is really controversial, but i agree tbh. And bro, putting season 1 on the top of your seasons ranking is just different and I can see a lot of reasons why. Best BCS episode ranking video for sure, beautiful stuff.
8:54 The writer of this episode actually said in an interview that Kuby actually just ended up running away and getting off scot free by completely vanishing - "he's one of those guys that just gets away with it"
So based for Winner being your number 1. That last scene with Werner and Mike actually broke me it might be the saddest moment in the entire show and I’m being so serious.
I think it was ruined by the clever Walt Season Finale for full measure. It’s not that the scene isn’t beautifully brutal but we already saw the version where the victim begs to call his loved one only to outfox him. It’s like beating beast Gannon only to have to fight regular form afterwards.
Great video. I agree with your preference for Jimmy's storyline compared to Mike's. And you had really funny jokes in there too. I especially liked how you said the words "prank" or "trolling" a lot even if it didn't fit how disturbing the event was. And the Gus jokes were amazing too.
Someone, I think on the Breaking Bad episode rankings, said they agree with all the takes, but disagree with most of the rankings…that’s 100% how I feel, lol. Listening to the individual episodes, I’m 100% with you, and then I see the number rankings for said episodes and can be at quite a loss. 😂 Really enjoyed this whole video.
My favorite has probably got to be Winner. My overall list is definitely a little different, but I agree with a lot of the points you brought up. This was an amazing video and I'm glad I watched all the way through.
1. 6x07 - Plan and Execution 2. 6x08 - Point and Shoot 3. 4x10 - Winner 4. 6x03 - Rock and Hard Place 5. 5x08 - Bagman 6. 6x13 - Saul Gone 7. 6x09 - Fun and Games 8. 5x09 - Bad Choice Road 9. 3x05 - Chicanery 10. 3x10 - Lantern
Great video! While I definitely didn't agree with all of your choices, the presentational style was perfect - just the right amount of time spent on each episode. I originally clicked on the video just to jump around to a few sots, but I got hooked and ended up watching the whole thing! -Not sure what the situation with fair use is but I might recommend cutting in and giving a couple of seconds of audio from the actual episode like you did once earlier on- nvm lol I posted this before finishing the video and you did it a bunch more times. Also, I found it hilarious how many times you nonchalantly cut to Howard getting shot in the head lol
Just finished the show yesterday and really appreciate this video, because 1 it summarises everything up again and depicts what happened at what point of the show and 2 it got me thinking how I would rate the episodes. What I personally have very high is Bagman(BB vibes, Jimmy and Mike, action, beautiful landscapes) and Fifi (great trailer, Jimmys manipulation montage, the commercial shooting scene)
1:01:00 the explosion is real! they talk about it in the BTS for the episode. It was 1 take, and Giancarlo Esposito did not even flinch as it happened. Fantastic work by all.
Also my favorites are point and shoot, fun and games, rock and hard place, chicanery, waterworks, breaking bad (that gene going mental arc was scary as hell on a first watch), winner, S1E9, and plan and execution on no particular order. Also, the pilot. That “I’m going to get better” scene is the best character establishing scene I’ve ever watched.
great job, i disagree about five o but other than that rankings pretty solid. there were some parts that reminded me a lot of glidus’ game of thrones episode ranking
Glidus’ vid was my main inspiration for this video so thats good to hear. He’s the gold standard for the “guys talking about episodes of TV shows for way too long” genre of TH-camr.
1. 4x10 Winner 2. 3x5 Chicanery 3. 6x9 Fun and games 4. 6x7 Plan and execution 5. 6x13 Saul gone 6. 5x9 Bad choice road 7. 6x8 Point and shoot 8. 1x9 Pimento 9. 1x5 Five-O 10. 5x6 Wexler v. Goodman
I audibly cheered when you said the Pimento scene was perhaps your favorite. It is mine as well. Season 1 is IMO great overall by laying down the fundamentals of every character and with an episode like Pimento, especially this scene, it encapsulates the entire relationship between Chuck and Jimmy in only the first season!
Also adore the copymachine scene in RICO. Not hearing what they're saying but obviously knowing that Jimmy is being disappointed is such a cool way of filmmaking.
my favourite moment of the entire show is one that absolutely know one talks about its when jimmy comes back from a long days work and joins Kim on there apartment balcony and not one word was spoken but instead the none verbally decide to throw there beer bottles at the pavment
Winner at #1 is such an awesome pick, I totally agree, to me it's probably between that and Saul Gone. Also love the Glimbus inspiration for this video's format.
Bali Hai being last hurts. It’s too 3 visual storytelling in a show that specializes in visual storytelling. There’s like a 10 minute sequence where no words are said at all and it’s amazing.
Winner at the top as it should be, I will never stop thinking about it Also, on your point about the Walt scene in Saul Gone being redundant with the Mike scene, I don't entirely agree. What I think makes it interesting is that in the Mike scene, Jimmy hears how Mike wants to go back to his first bribe because it was the mistake the took him on this path. Mike then criticizes Jimmy's shallow get time travel to get rich scheme. When he has this same conversation with Walt, he tries to mimick Mike like he has done multiple times before, trying to think of his first slip like Mike thinks about his first bribe. Walt can still see that it's bs, if Jimmy didn't do it there he would have done it later, because that's who he was and still is at that point. His true point of regret he would go back to change is finally shown with the Chuck scene, because it would have saved his relationship with his brother. To no longer be Slippin Jimmy, or Saul Goodman, he has to change by going forward instead of going back.
great list. A video that i can surely consider a great watch, especially now that i've just finished rewatching Better Call Saul. Keep up the good work 🙌
I think my entire top 5 (and possibly beyond) are S6 episodes 😂 That being said, Bad Choice Road and Winner are without a doubt in my mind the best two outside of S6
@@HNfilms Saul Gone is genuinely my favourite episode of television. Ever. That being said, Rock and Hard Place, Plan and Execution, and Fun and Games are all competitively in the race. I think the "worst" of those four is probably in my top 30 at worst and in all likelihood much higher.
I have to make the case for why I loved the tonal shift in Nippy. Yes it's a bit bizarre, but I think that ultimately fits the new territory we were entering into. I think Jeff as a character is a little underwhelming, and probably my only minor gripe with the show, but I think Saul's attitude was perfect. At the end of 5x01 we were told he was going to 'fix it himself'. I think at that point Jimmy stops being afraid of the future and enters his scamming persona. He goes on the offensive. I justify the actor change as Jimmy not being afraid of Jeff anymore. He realises he's just a goofball and not particularly threatening if he flips the table on him. So I think it works even if it's a little rocky.
Werner's death might be the most tragic death across both shows, in my opinion. My favorite episodes are: Mijo (102) Five-O (106) Marco (110) Chicanery (305) Something Unforgivable (510) Plan and Execution (607) Point and Shoot (608)
In my opinion it's not half as tragic as many other deaths, because Werner knew he did something wrong and accepted the consequences, plus he died painlessly and they made a decent story for him.
Andrea. (And, I think Howard’s is more tragic, given that he never got into anything that should have resulted in danger of him being murdered, unlike Werner.)

If you watch the episode commentary for JMM I’m pretty sure that they mention that the whole block was cheering after explosion so I’m guessing it was real (if not that is some impressive cgi work)

Put some respect on Alpine Shepherd Boy
@@HNfilms Yeah, it's got good comedic moments, the first time we see Jimmy delve into elder law and the first real explanation of Chuck's illness
Putting inflatable at 52 is a sin. One of my favourite episodes
Rebecca and Alpine Shepard Boy are amazing episodes. Don't understand why they're so often rated at the bottom of people's lists.
all m seeing from these lists is that season 6 is a masterpiece
IMO Nippy is great for the story. It's Jimmy putting his foot down and not being scared (Like when he hung up on the vacuum guy). He thinks he can turn into saul again and prove he is smarter than everyone. It also features one of the best montages in the whole show. Copper seems to do that thing that people do where they make their own story in their head and get mad when it doesn't happen, he even mentions the showrunners had their own plan for a while. He's basically mad that his personal expectations were not met.
Very CinemaSins like
I laughed so much at your random jokes throughout the video and your opinion on the episodes was very interesting to hear. Instant subscribe
I see this as a transitional piece to his continuing oeuvre.

it's okay nippy is a good episode
Maybe cut in between the two scene by scene etc. idk
I feel like I usually get bored halfway through ranking videos, but this one kept me interested throughout, so thanks for that! Great video mate
22:25 Jimmy was trying to get Chuck's insurance screwed here. He was faking wanting his insurance back to get back at Chuck. Also I loved the Emmy joke (he seriously deserves so many more awards than he got).
Yeah Im aware of that
@@HNfilms great video btw I liked that you didn't put Chicanery #1 even though it's my personal favorite it's nice to see someone not put it #1
At first I was like: "Wait, what happened? Why Bob started to act so shitty in this scene?". And then, when they revealed that Bob was playing Jimmy, who is overacting on purpose to screw Chuck, I was blown away
Very solid summary, i have to show some love for this video, im not 100% agree with the ranking but it's always pleased to hear some different opinions, after all it's still a well made video, thanks :)
So happy you put Winner as 1. IMO The kareoke scene is the greatest scene of the entire show. It makes me weep everytime I watch it. Oh, what could have been...
The winner takes it all...
Love abba. That surprised me
I love this video. I’ve watched it or listened to it now for at least 40 times. I agree with all of your opinions, and your sense of humor is actually gold. The pace is perfect and your deadpan comedy is brilliant. Just wanted to say how much i appreciate your work
You agree with this guy
WATCH THE BREAKING BAD VIDEO
I have finally found another person whose favourite episode is Winner, thank you so much, you just made my day
There are dozens of us
Just wanna say that him sending you such a long cameo is making me a lil teary eyed, I love people who love what they do and love talking about it

@@dem2099 nah it’s great, first watch it’s slow but on a second watch it’s really enjoyable

That scene is honestly one of the ones that stuck with me most out of both Better Call Saul and Breaking Bad.
You should have a counter for everytime you play Howard's death lmao
It would be too big to fit on the screen
I love the amount of shade you throw while describing the episodes LMAO
Someone, I think on the Breaking Bad episode rankings, said they agree with all the takes, but disagree with most of the rankings…that’s 100% how I feel, lol. Listening to the individual episodes, I’m 100% with you, and then I see the number rankings for said episodes and can be at quite a loss. 😂 Really enjoyed this whole video.
My favorite has probably got to be Winner. My overall list is definitely a little different, but I agree with a lot of the points you brought up. This was an amazing video and I'm glad I watched all the way through.

Some ranking choices were weird, to say the least, but it's always nice to see some legit different opinions.
1:01:00 the explosion is real! they talk about it in the BTS for the episode. It was 1 take, and Giancarlo Esposito did not even flinch as it happened. Fantastic work by all.

great job, i disagree about five o but other than that rankings pretty solid. there were some parts that reminded me a lot of glidus’ game of thrones episode ranking
Glidus’ vid was my main inspiration for this video so thats good to hear. He’s the gold standard for the “guys talking about episodes of TV shows for way too long” genre of TH-camr.
when jimmy said "were bad together, so what? together we can break bad away from us!" i truly cried

Great list by the way. Coincidentally lots of my opinions overlap with yours, and for good reason!
Also adore the copymachine scene in RICO. Not hearing what they're saying but obviously knowing that Jimmy is being disappointed is such a cool way of filmmaking.
Gus having a paranoid psycho basement retroactively makes his house’s weirdness in Breaking Bad make more sense.
my favourite moment of the entire show is one that absolutely know one talks about its when jimmy comes back from a long days work and joins Kim on there apartment balcony and not one word was spoken but instead the none verbally decide to throw there beer bottles at the pavment
Take a shot every time the clip of Howard getting shot is shown
I dont care what mfers say this review/tier list was goated
Winner at #1 is such an awesome pick, I totally agree, to me it's probably between that and Saul Gone. Also love the Glimbus inspiration for this video's format.
take a shot every time this guy shows the clip of howards brains getting blown out
Thanks for highlighting Fun and Games and Winner, standout episodes both
Hank is one of the funniest characters in the BB universe. Any scene with him is gold
Honestly it’s kind of refreshing to see a video like this where the list isn’t identical to Time Magazine lol. Great video
Better call saul has two finales which I find pretty cool. You could stop watching after fun and games and the black and white stuff is an epilogue
Bali Hai being last hurts. It’s too 3 visual storytelling in a show that specializes in visual storytelling. There’s like a 10 minute sequence where no words are said at all and it’s amazing.
Winner at the top as it should be, I will never stop thinking about it
Also, on your point about the Walt scene in Saul Gone being redundant with the Mike scene, I don't entirely agree.

I think my entire top 5 (and possibly beyond) are S6 episodes 😂
That being said, Bad Choice Road and Winner are without a doubt in my mind the best two outside of S6
What would you say is the best s6 episode?
@@HNfilms Saul Gone is genuinely my favourite episode of television. Ever.
That being said, Rock and Hard Place, Plan and Execution, and Fun and Games are all competitively in the race. I think the "worst" of those four is probably in my top 30 at worst and in all likelihood much higher.
lmfaooooo when you said nacho was a “Farcry” from what he becomes. i hope it was intentional because he is the main bad guy from farcry3 😂
i clicked on this just for some saul chat but the dry humour in this video is outstanding. bravo hn films
I got an ad for a local personal injury lawyer while watching this and started freaking the fuck out.
the opening of something stupid is my favorite scene in the entire show, i love it so much
Werner's death might be the most tragic death across both shows, in my opinion.
My favorite episodes are:
Mijo (102)
Five-O (106)
Marco (110)
Chicanery (305)
Something Unforgivable (510)
Plan and Execution (607)
Point and Shoot (608)
In my opinion it's not half as tragic as many other deaths, because Werner knew he did something wrong and accepted the consequences, plus he died painlessly and they made a decent story for him.
Andreas death exists 💀
Andrea. (And, I think Howard’s is more tragic, given that he never got into anything that should have resulted in danger of him being murdered, unlike Werner.)
