The only time I felt any pacing issues in this show were the first few episodes of S2. People who hate on BCS were just expecting another Breaking Bad.
Miho was an SS tier episode, the depth of acting was phenomenal, the entire desert scene itself with Jimmy talking to Tuco like a judge, the foreshadowing of Tuco killing Gonzo, this 1 episode set most of the series into motion
Alright I know I'm slightly late here (and a little bit picky) but Tuco didn't kill Gonzo. He beats up No-Doze (that's his name apparently) and Gonzo is the one he gets brutally stuck while trying to hide his body. In fact, Tuco didn't even realize that Gonzo died, thinking he snitched which allowed Walter and Jesse to remain alive due to the suspicions on the snitching being blamed on Gonzo. So yeah, I guess in a way it did set a lot of things in motion.
"You're the worst lawyer ever!" "I just talked you down from a death sentence to a six month probation; I'm the best lawyer ever." That is an amazing summary of Jimmy's character.
Giving her the benefit of the doubt, maybe she meant that as “it will make us look bad and put us in a box, so we’ll have worse odds with the jury” but tbh I wouldn’t be surprised if she really was that deep in denial.
The scene where Chuck says Jimmy is not a real lawyer made me genuinely sad for Jimmy. It is clear at that point in the show all he wanted was Chuck's approval and love and yet Chuck's superiority complex clouds his judgment. To be rejected by the ones you value the most is just so awful. I really feel for Jimmy in that scene. Like that scene stuck with me, I still think about it from time to time. Obviously Jimmy is his own person and his choices are on him, but Chuck's decisions are a big part of what led him to become Saul Goodman and you can totally see why. It's just so tragic
At the same time, Chuck was kind of right, even if he had the influence to steer Jimmy in the right direction. Jimmy never changes, even when he has all the power in the world to do so on his own. "Slippin' Jimmy with a law degree is like a chimp with a machine gun."
50:46 the first thing chuck says is all jealousy not "you're a lier" "you're a thief" 'you ultimately hurt everyone around you unintentionally" none of these because the real reason chuck hates Jimmy is because of jealousy.

I feel like if Chuck had accepted Jimmy and let him work at HHM none of what he ended up getting into with criminal stuff would have happened. That's the tragedy of it though, Chuck was right about Jimmy, but even when he actually started to change he didn't see that so Jimmy went right back to his ways that lead to his eventual downfall.

Man, I loved this video! It's so good to finally see someone talk about this show in a not too memey, but not to serious way. Its the perfect middle ground between an annoying shitposter and an overly pretentious analyst. You're not either of the extremes, just a normal person who likes these shows and wants to talk about them! It's refreshing. Little things like that shut the Chuck up" line hahaha just makes this video very enjoyable to watch! You have a way of making the pacing very breezy, despite going over everything thoroughly (which I appreciate). And I like that you take the time to point out the great moments of cinematography and writing, it makes this video and all your BB/BCS tier lists worthwhile to watch. Consider me a new subscriber cuz you're super underrated considering the great quality of your videos and your fun personality!
Do you think Pimento or Five-O is better? Additionally, I just want to note that I find the episode 'Marco' extremely underrated. You can't go wrong with an all out Slippin' Jimmy show (not the animated show. Remember me when you're at 3M subscribers :)
I think the biggest reason people arent in love with BCS s1 and you enjoyed it more now than on the first watch is that it's difficult to know where it's going to go on first vieweing and it's quite slow compared to later seasons. Looking back on it, its easy to appreciate the characters and story setup knowing just how well it is payed off.
I just watched all of the breaking bad review, and was wondering where this was. Perfect timing! Btw, your Breaking Bad video was the best video I’ve ever seen! Double S tier!
Letttsss gooo, im currently on S6 E9 of better call saul, finished watching bb so went onto this, think ima finish watching and im defo gonna come back to this vid cause im curious on someone elses thoughts. For me season 1 was definitely the weakest but it was still so great, one of the best 1st seasons to a show for me. So far I havnt finished s6 but s5 is probably my favourite season, definitely the last few eps with nacho and lalo was awsome. Looking forward too these upcoming episodes but sad that its gonna be over soon
I like how Jimmy initally tried to scam himself into fame, with no luck. Then he stumbled into elder law, where he could use his charm to win over his clients rather than exploit them. He did real, honest work - and it was paying off for him. Chuck and Jimmy working together to "take down Sandpiper" should have been proof to Chuck that he wasn't just "Slippin' Jimmy" anymore, but actually worthy of his title of Lawyer. Chuck could have brought Jimmy in and lead him to continue his good hearted work. Expand the name to "HHMM" or just "Hamlins' and McGills'." In a series full of pride and ego corrupting and destroying all around it, man, BCS knocked it out of the park. Can't believe I didn't like the show on release because I thought it moved too slow 😂
Once this is finish, by any chance could you create a mega tier list on breaking bad, better call saul and rank them as one. Be cool to see how you woukd rank each eps from the 2 shows and which show has more of your favourite eps. Then chuck el camino in the tier list aswell in with the episodes and treat that like an episode
I finished BB maybe last month. And I started BCS probably sometime last month. I'm only on S2, and I gotta say... S1 is really good. S2 starts out pretty bad, but it has gotten good. I'm excited for S3, as that's when people consider the show getting good.
You should update on further tier list videos your experience. The show gets so damn good. I honestly disagree that Season 2 starts bad but I can’t lie that it doesn’t get better as it goes on. Enjoy it!
Its amazing how Mike was just meant to be a fill in character for one episode of BB to being one of the best storylines in both shows.

18:26 as a huge fan of the soundboard community , hearing Fred delighted me 😂 Great tier list ❤
Love your look on the show and funny random comments keep it up
very underated
1 hour passed like a minute, great video.
Been waiting for this for weeks, let’s goo 🔥💪
I need more 1+ hour long BCS/BrBa breakdowns in my life
Keep em coming brother... you're on a million-plus path, and I think all of the comments and praise you're getting confirm that. That Breaking Bad tier list is absolute quality.
I Watched quiet some different breaking bad tier lists, but yours really stuck in my head. Whenever i watch your tier list videos, i dont feel like im talking to a freaking reddit user who's trying to show that he got the show. When i listen to you, i just feel like i talk to a pal who i watch the show with. Please keep it up!
Can't wait for season 2 tier list, your content makes me happy, keep it going my dude!
I like the little micro edits ether when the soundtrack is playing or when dialogue is played
I feel like if Chuck had accepted Jimmy and let him work at HHM none of what he ended up getting into with criminal stuff would have happened. That's the tragedy of it though, Chuck was right about Jimmy, but even when he actually started to change he didn't see that so Jimmy went right back to his ways that lead to his eventual downfall.
yess lessgo
Been waiting for this for a while, loved your BB lists!
Havnt finished season 1 so I can't watch but I literally just finished ur breaking bad video less then 2 hours ago and wondered when this would drop. Ur vids are fire bro keep it up 🎉❤
Man, I loved this video!
Just finished your BB ranking two minutes ago! Let's gooooo!
W list again like always
Another thing to watch before falling asleep ❤
Do you think Pimento or Five-O is better?
Additionally, I just want to note that I find the episode 'Marco' extremely underrated. You can't go wrong with an all out Slippin' Jimmy show (not the animated show.
Remember me when you're at 3M subscribers :)
Pimento - the episodes on each tier go from left to right (best to worst) in terms of quality
And thank you!
@@BeatRiceIsHere ohh thanks for the clarification. also, youre welcome!
yoooo! i've been waiting for this man
I think the biggest reason people arent in love with BCS s1 and you enjoyed it more now than on the first watch is that it's difficult to know where it's going to go on first vieweing and it's quite slow compared to later seasons. Looking back on it, its easy to appreciate the characters and story setup knowing just how well it is payed off.
Oh, great timing for me, thank you, enjoyed your BB series, im sure this one will be great as well
Pimento is the most underrated episode of the series for me. W video
Right after the banger jokes you made in the Breaking Bad vids
I knew I had to subscribe and watch the rest of your videos 🧐
This is a very underated TH-camr
Loving your chanel Mr. Rice, thank you for the top tier content
Love your content man keep up the good work! You're funnier than most high tier TH-camrs!!
I have been waiting for this video for ages
YOOO THIS IS SO COOL can’t wait for better fuel huell
lmao i literally just finished watching the breaking bad tier list and this is uploaded. perfect timing
I just watched all of the breaking bad review, and was wondering where this was. Perfect timing! Btw, your Breaking Bad video was the best video I’ve ever seen! Double S tier!
i wasn't sure if i liked mike, but that "lawyer" scene made me laugh my ass off
can't wait to watch all the videos over the next 5 months and 12 days
So glad you did this series too. I've been loving Better Call Saul. also, FUCK CHUCK. :D
Thank u so much for making these vids bro. You deserve so many more subs :)
I'm convinced that "Steve Ogg" is just a slighly less intense version of Trevor Phillips
Dude fantastic video!! I'm off to the next one see you there
46:25 I could listen to that on loop for days, I swear to christ.
The fact that you spottet the source of chucks illness in the first 9 minutes really got me xD
Your videos are so underrated
Once this is finish, by any chance could you create a mega tier list on breaking bad, better call saul and rank them as one. Be cool to see how you woukd rank each eps from the 2 shows and which show has more of your favourite eps. Then chuck el camino in the tier list aswell in with the episodes and treat that like an episode
Oh absolutely. That was my plan from the beginning. My computer might explode from rendering but it'll be worth it
@BeatRiceIsHere 😂 lmao, yh you put alot of effort in your vids, can't wait to watch this one fully once I finished the series.
i love how this video came out immediately after i finished the bb tier list video
ya know what, i dont even mind the ads, these vids are worth them, get ur ad rev if it means more of this good stuff
You have done the sort-of-hard-to-do and made looking at Season 1 of this show entertaining.
2:15 even tho I’ve watched the show before this I still had jumpscared from how loud it was in my headphones
Enjoy it!
@@yaneok Yeah lol 💀
@bettercallchicanery1216 honestly a really good idea. I finished two, and I'm onto 3, so I will update when the S2 video comes out.
Your video production is so good u deserve more subs
