Id suggest a thermal pad or paste for where the resistors meet the heat sink. Youll get much better thermal conductivity (extending their life) Great video as always !
Atemu. I did this a couple years back (It worked great) then months later went emu black. Question, do I just cut it out and cap the wires or put it all back together? Most of those wires have no end since the swap right?
Does the last code that you can't get rid of throw a check engine light or is it just stored in the ecu? I'm wondering for smog purposes in California. Is there a way to fool the car into thinking you still have a neutral safety switch?
There should only be (1) DTC and the VSC/ABS bulbs will also be lit up. Once you’re positive only 1780 is showing you can pull the CEL, VSC and ABS bulbs out.
Funny to think how similar the performance figures are to a 996 in the dealer at the same time. I'm sure the 996 would beat it in corners, but maybe the GS is quicker now (assuming the 996 wasn't a tiptronic)
I was ready. You can hear me let off in 1st briefly. I was ready to slam on my brakes. That horn you heard was the van behind him. He was turning right on red. His yield.
can you help I have a 2000 GS 300 and I am dealing with notorious P1755 solenoid code I change the solenoid.... code still there will this remove my check engine light???
If you mean the ECU pinout it may be different. Regarding the R154 measurements may have to be taken. I don’t know for certain where the shifter ends up as-is on the R154 and GS.
That GS is rockin . Sounds great. Any plans to dyno again with the manual. I am sure you picked up some power to the wheels with the new manual trans. I wonder how she would fare at the drag strip . I know they road tested the GS 400 when they first came out in 98 and they ran 14.3@ 99 mph
The reason I haven’t dyno’d it is because a tune session here locally is ridiculous. It’s like $300. I also know these put 240-245whp down stock, so add about 2%-3% to that, plus my other mods. Not to mention a slight weight reduction and more favorable ratios in gears 1-3, and acceleration is improved for sure. I can certainly feel it. 14.3 was a pro driver’s best back in the day. So I figure I can hit high 13’s in this configuration on a good day at the track. Perhaps I’ll run it someday soon.
@@ForwardMomentum yea tunes are ridiculous here also. 300-600 . I get that. If you can shift the gears I believe high 13s are within easy reach. I have seen many 400 hp plus cars at the track struggle to break out of the 14s with there manual trans cars. But no doubt manual cars with power like yours are super fun to drive.
It is much quicker for sure, but 0-100kmh or 0-60 actually isn’t a good measure of improvement because I have to shift into 3rd to hit that speed. I estimate it’s putting 2-3% more power to the wheels, not to mention the more favorable gear ratios 1-3 and weight reduction. Definitely a win-win!
Can you go through how you display Diagnostic Codes? I have tried with an obd2 to bluetooth, and connect my phone. But it can't find anything through it
@@ForwardMomentum See... thats pretty much exactly what i've been doing. Except i dont have a obd2 to wifi adapter, so over bluetooth instead. It works fine on other cars, just not mine
The current intake system is stock for the most part. I was running a K&N FIPK, then went to just a drop-in filter, but my friend gave me a Blitz SUS panel filter so I am actually running that now. I have also installed a Soarer BFI system with fresh air duct. If you search “soarer BFI” you can see that concept online. The BFI really works and my fuel trims are good.
@@ForwardMomentum you have any tips on looking at a higher millage 400? I’m looking at a 200k car tomorrow. Has most of the mods I already wanted on it and asking price is 4k. I think it’s a steal but obviously previous history matters.

Yeah, that's definitely necessary
As someone who works on computers this is a Great suggestion.
Thanks for the great content. Sounds amazing with that 1-2 shift. You have completely transformed that car. So tastefully done.

Hi, can you please upload a higher quality image of your pinout notes? They are hard to see in the video. Thanks for all the great GS content!
You can always message me on IG for info. It’s often hard to display detailed pinouts and info on video, even when shot at 1080p.
BUILT NOT BOUGHT !!
Enjoying the series man! so much so, I'm inspired to do this to my gs400, thanks for the great info!
Awesome! Glad you’re liking it!
Atemu. I did this a couple years back (It worked great) then months later went emu black. Question, do I just cut it out and cap the wires or put it all back together? Most of those wires have no end since the swap right?
Wires that were spliced in can just be cut and the splice location protected. Fully cut ECU wires need to be reconnected of course.
Does the last code that you can't get rid of throw a check engine light or is it just stored in the ecu? I'm wondering for smog purposes in California. Is there a way to fool the car into thinking you still have a neutral safety switch?
There might be a way, but I don’t know how. Yes, it triggers the CEL.

Hey where did you get the pinout for the 400?
A buddy has the Electrical FSM. I transferred it onto the ATEMU pinout.
is there any way to get ride of that p1780 code
I am sure there’s a way, but people much smarter than me that developed these devices haven’t bothered, so I am going to say…”not really.”
Essentially the same for a gs430? also, planning on getting a jzx100 R154, will that tripod work? or necessary to get that extension?

Would this transmission swap work on a Lexus LS400?
Thanks! Sure, I know LS guys that do MT swaps. The AR5 is one option of many. 😎
@@ForwardMomentum Thanks, you’ve inspired me to do a swap on my 98.
Can you make a fuel additive video??
I’ll put just about anything on the list. However, this topic has been covered extensively and I really couldn’t add much value.
Where did you get that heat sink at ? I’m going to need it, doing a cd009 swap on my is300 with the emulator

You have to build it yourself.
Have you figured a way to make that p1780 code go away?
Unfortunately not.
Did you get any trouble to pass emmisions with p1780 code
Not where I live, but each locale is different. It’s a non emissions-related code anyway.
What did you do with your automatic transmission
Recycled it. 😆

You could have avoided all that bike removing all the solenoids from the transmission and keeping them plugged in and grounded FYI
I know. But who wants a plastic bag with wires and solenoids zip tied to the undercarriage? No thanks.

I didn’t ground any of them. They come into play when you wire up the ATEMU.
